I'm happy for her. I wish more people would use her music on more movies. She definitely has a lot of cinematic songs and versatile lyrics for almost any story/movie there is to tell out there.

Exactly! What Novak is implying and all those Americana nostalgia talk actually pertains to songs like The Greatest, Living Legend, Terrence Loves You, Yosemite, Old Money, Honeymoon, etc. Though American is my #1 favourite and is quite viscerally invoking, it's mostly an up-beat song about a summer fling in LA.
