On Chat Box, David Cruz talks with Larry Hamm, a veteran activist and chairman of the People’s Organization for Progress, about why he’s running to replace Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). He shares his perspective on the competition from Rep. Andy Kim (D-3rd), Patricia Campos-Medina and first lady Tammy Murphy, and weighs in on some of the top issues facing New Jersey and the nation.
Later, Rutgers Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling Director Ashley Koning goes beyond the ads and endorsements to discuss some of the top issues to watch leading up to the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate and whether New Jersey voters have already made their choice.

I know this interview and review on the candidates was a month or so ago but I would suggest voters are fatigued by poor foreign policy and poor choices in candidates in the pres election. We are tired of "lesser of two evils". The genocide happening to the Palestinians is fatiguing us. This week some on the national stage are starting to speak on ceasefire but that's because of the increase in declaration of "Uncommitted" in the democratic primaries. As for the state level, Gov Murphey won't even consider halting the NJ-Israel Commission in order to use financial and economic sway to send a message for ceasefire. He just said he's in line with Biden. This will effect his the first lady's campaign. Andy Kim rec's $$ from AIPAC. This is why there is no increase in interest for either candidate. Only middle of the road, "lesser of two evil" dem voters will be choosing either of them. Palestine's sovereignty, abortion access, and an end to inhumane policies within this state, country, and abroad will matter most in 2024 for both the state and national elections. You'll see middle of the road Dem Candidates fail to get the votes because they won't take strong stances that represents and protects the people. Thank you for airing Lawrence Hamm and good luck to him. I committed my signature to his campaign and hope he will be able to run and win as Senator .

Re: Lautenberg vs. Murphy, was Lautenberg a Republican a few years before he ran for Senate?

We definitely need a debate. Also, I expect the winner of this field to crush the Republican candidate

All of the candidates for US Senator, except for Andy Kim, are not running to represent all of the people of NJ, but rather some sub group of people, women, children, poor people, Hispanics, etc. Tammy Murphy's appeal to only women and children's issues is particularly egregious, and, I suspect, actually little more than campaign marketing. Our US Senator should represent all of us, the people from Short Hills, as well as the people from Newark, the people from Lambertville, as well as the people from Atlantic City.

You can have beef with Booker, and I probably agree with most of it, but... what does that have to do with this?
