Dude makes good points but Jordan will always be the GOAT. If you haven't watched Jordan's career you will never ever understand why people call Jordan GOAT. Jordan dominated the NBA when he played. They changed the rules because of him. People who watch lebron will always feel he's the GOAT and i understand why because that's all they know. Its nothing Lebron has done or continue to do that impresses people who watched Jordan's career for the fact we can actually compare them. We got a chance to watch both of their careers. There is no comparison. They are two different players. Lebron is the best of this generation and he should be. Look at how weak the Nba is now compared to when Jordan played. Its sad. Apparently, when you're being guarded by 4 players and you pass to one of the best 3-point shooters in the league completely open at one of the most efficient spots on the floor, it's debatable whether or not it was the right play to make? Seriously, that is one of the most indicting moments in Bron's career to prove how much bias there is against the dude. Three members of the opposing team are right there; Crowder stepped in the way, and a fifth is in the paint - the entire opposing team is within a few feet of him to make sure he doesn't score, and he finds a Finals record scoring 3-point shooter so open he could take a nap before shooting, and there is still criticism?

His mind, his vision, combined with his superior athletic ability, rarely if ever gets injured, leads teams not with an iron fist, but with inclusion and a sense of community, pass first attitude instead of shooting a 29th shot after going 4-28 from the field, can adapt to any play style, guard 1 though 5, never a coach killer, humble student of the game, constantly improving to maintain longevity, the list of feats are endless with this guy.

We look at a GOAT by how good they were in their prime, almost prime position, offence/defence and scoring. Longevity and injury does not affect GOAT status, especially since leBron is spending millions on health and longevity meanwhile MJ was stuck in a time of cigars and drugs, he’d even smoke a cigar before every game. MJ only needed one play style, and that style got him GOAT status, and “humble student”? What has this got to do with how good a player is, MJ was cocky and had a big ego because he was insanely good. LeBrons efforts outside the court have nothing to do with his skill. MJ is the GOAT and undeniably better at basketball.
@l1ll4rd48
@l1ll4rd48 2 года назад
Sorry forgot to mention as well, I don’t think you’ve seen enough of MJ playing because something both Lebron people and MJ people agree upon is that MJ is more athletic, it’s just fact. Not many people come close to Jordan’s athleticism.
@clutch3ball239
@clutch3ball239 2 года назад
@@l1ll4rd48 You clearly have a lot to learn about basketball and are undeniably influenced by mainstream sports channels. You speak of “we” as if you’re the entire world. You’re not. You’re just one man/woman. That being said, there’s obviously more to basketball than scoring. MJ was elite at scoring, there’s no denying that. But if you’ve ever played the game, then you remember the most joyous thing to play next to is an elite scorer and especially an elite passer. Conversely, if you play next to somebody who doesn’t pass (and there were countless moments where MJ refused to pass, I’ve seen the good, bad and ugly passing games of MJ), you’d tell him to stop hogging the ball! Prime is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to longevity. If a GM wants to build his team, why would he care about about a player’s prime or peak? He wants sustained excellence. If a company has a choice between hiring somebody with a prime or somebody who can give you years and years of excellent work and most of all availability, you’d know who’d they choose. Be honest with yourself. About the health thing, it’s astonishing to see how in-objective you are when you praise MJ’s habits of cigars and drugs and indict LeBron for taking care of his body, you know, the number one thing teammates/players/coaches ask you to do as part of your job. Being humble has got EVERYTHING to do in being good in LIFE let alone basketball. Having ego in any situation, especially in basketball is never appreciated. When it comes to skill, sure MJ has a better offensive package. Beautiful highlights. But that’s where it stops. Passing, chase-down blocks, defending all 5 positions (you’ve seen LeBron front the post and neutralize bigs in their prime), communicating, getting teammates involved. All skills LeBron possessed that are way superior than MJ’s footwork. There’s so much to teach you, but I’ll leave it with these couple of jewels. Look, it’s been a nice run for MJ, and he was phenomenal, but people are slowly waking up to the obvious fact that the bigger, faster, stronger, healthier, more unselfish and smarter LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time 👑

My biggest thing about Arenas and all these lebron the goat fans fail to realize conference play. Its like Bron gets participation points as the goat for just making the finals. If everyone just took 5 to 10 mins to do some research of nba basketball after Jordan left Chicago the west actually won all but 5 of the first 20 nba finals, so what exactly does that say about the eastern conference. In fact it was so lopsided that in my eyes the final was between the lakers and spurs, lakers, dallas or GSW from 2000 to 2019 for the most part. We all expected that Cleveland team to be there in the end and to get smashed by one of those four teams. Also the proof in my argument is exactly why the allstar game format change when the west had 8 of the top 10 players in the league or so most seasons. The commissioner got tired of west winning the game 164 to 125 or so. Also the reason why they considered changing the nba playoffs format a few years ago because it wasn't fair for the #8 seed in the east to be 30 and 52 meanwhile #8 in the west was 44 and 28 or so. My point is lebron and those Cleveland teams wouldn't sniffed the finals in the west until he had Kyrie and Love and that possibly would've only happened one season or so
@Johenz
@Johenz 2 года назад
@@jamessims9298 okay but lebron don’t get discredit for making it to 8 straight finals. no matter how you want to look at it that is impressive. Also content matters. In the early 2000s lakers and spurs were the two super teams in that era. Then there were finals where the eastern teams were as good as the western teams. Packers vs lakers, spurs vs pistons, lakers vs Celtics, mavericks vs heat, warriors vs cavs first time were all Evenly matched teams. And you contradicted yourself by saying we all knew cavs will be in the finals yet saying it was spurs or lakers in the west in the finals. Both conference was dominated by a dynastic team. When warriors was winning it was always gonna be them in the finals. From 2000-2010 it was lakers or spurs coming out the west, from 2011-2013 was the only year the west was open. From 2015-2019 it was warriors easily. What made lebron run impressive is he held his dynastic run for 8 years

Sadly they often get very disrespectfull too, truth is Jordan was such a big icon because he was simply the perfect basketball player. Best at defense in his time, best at shooting mid range, best at layups, best at dunks, best at assists and the man in the clutch. Always the mentality to go all out. Lebron simply cannot compete with that.

It's fascinating to hear another professional break things down. I've always thought Lebron has the most raw physical talent of those three contenders, and I can't imagine having to be in front of that freight train of a man night in, night out. While we are Monday morning quarterbacking, I also thought his jump shot mechanic looked a little off, which might hinder him in the long run. Sure, he can still score prodigiously, but compared to MJ and KB's silky smooth motion, I thought it was lacking. But on the whole, it sure looks like Lebron is emerging as a true GOAT possibility.

He is a multi skilled player who can switch when it is necessary unlike Kobe or MJ who played shooting guard and defense for most of their careers. Meanwhile, Lebron also plays defense. You can't be the greatest civil engineer for doing bridges only while another civil engineer has done bridges, water structures, hotels etc...if that makes sense Gilbert made a good point about scoring. Lebron could score 60 and still lose a game. That's why lakers stopped making playoffs even though Kobe was scoring many points until his retirement. It takes a TEAM effort because it's 5 players. MJ didn't recruit his starting cast like AD, Wade, Love, Bosh, Allen, etc, The Bulls were built primarily through the draft. Thus, he had to develop trust. MJ already had a three peat and was considered by many as the Goat before Rodman even showed up. What drafted player has Lebron help develop into a star? Assists to Paxson in game 5 of first championship was not the right play? Assist to Kerr in the 5th championship (I believe) for a buzzer beater was not the right play? Stripping the ball from Malone in title 6 and making a cross over move to hit final s shot and win the title was not the right play? Etc., Etc.,

@@jessepetite2468 that’s your opinion but Arenas gave solid and objective points here with no bias. not some ESPN opinionated responses. my heart will say MJ but that’s my heart and there’s obvious bis, Arenas is using his brain here which is impressive considering he grew up with Jordan and it’s easy to be blinded by nostalgia but props to him for putting his biases aside and actually making an objective analysis. he actually got me thinkin twice here

@@ethantampus6021 different people have different perspective about the greatness. MJ has the most impact on basketball culture. Almost Everybody knows MJ. He is more popular than anyone in the world. Greatness is not just about being good at sport but what impact does the person bring to the sport and people around the world. Looking back all these great people in history. Every one of them impacted our society or culture in different way. That’s called greatness. The goat. LBJ might be the goat in next 20 years when next generation know only about lbj and he would be bringing more influence to the generation but until then , no lbj is nowhere near MJ.

Nice try Gilbert. Lebron is phenomenon player. 1 of the goats, but he ain't better than Jordan. People quickly forget that Jordan played 13 season with the chicago bulls and did stuff that when we tried to replicate it on the court we end with broken bodies. 6,6 palming the ball body control in the air. Lebron still trying to be the goat in his 18th season. MJ WAS JUST DIFFERENT.

Best part is Jordan accomplished far more in far less time if that makes any sense

I mean, first of all, LeBron isn't so much worse than Jordan in bodybuilding. Jordan's best parts are his vertical jump and his big hands. Bron don't have both vertical (at least not using it so much) and big hands like Jordan, but against these he have longevity and speed (I'm not saying he's faster or something like this, because idk, but for 6'8 big body man, he's very fast). Their bodies is the actual reasons why they're playing SG and SF. LeBron could've played PG if not his big body which is very useful on SF position. Jordan is the middle between PG and SF, that's why he's a perfect guy for a SG position. And also, because of that stuff that was happening before, players started to shoot better. Not only Jordan and Bron, literally most of the basketball players are shooting because they can't always go into the paint and score. And problem not in scoring itself, but because it's easy to predict your moves if you always going to the paint. Jordan's not only an athletic acrobat, he's also a mid-range god. And the second, I don't know how player's body is deciding who's the goat.
