The Pistons don't like him at all. They used to do Jordan so wrong, the league had to change the rules to protect Jordan. The feeling was mutual between them and Jordan because Jordan made sure Isaiah Thomas wasn't on the Dream Team in the Olympics.
Zachary Hoy dude I love Isaiah but there’s been times he hated on Scottie and MJ Also with Scottie hating on Isaiah too. It’s ideally how the world should work I’m with you but it’s just not how it is in this case
Hate Jordan why they killed Jordan his first seven years lmao they were all in they’re mid 30s before he beat them do your research lebron is just better
Don't forget about positioning your leg or foot so the opposing player lands awkwardly on it and turns or sprains an ankle. He had that move down. I'm all for playing good, tough defense but intentionally trying to injure people is BS. That was his game.
kenneth griffin I mean numbers don’t lie the stats are there but like he said unless you wanna count rings but I mean if we’re counting rings Bill Russell is the best player to ever play
Big Dawg lmao pippen changes his goat every year 😂 at first he said Michael than in 2018 he said LBJ than last year he said wilt was the best. This year he about to say Kareem tha goat
Bill: I played in the greatest era Also Bill: I don't watch the NBA now ALSO Bill: LeBron is the greatest of all time. Yeah.... sounds pretty bitter to me.
Nenad Lalic I mean he has his own opinion but the greatest era doesn’t necessarily have to feature the greatest player in my opinion because greatness will transfer to any era
Bill Laimbeer threw elbows at people and pretended like he got fouled and nobody could do anything about it. He also made 90% of his free throws. He outsmarted his opponents. People that hate him sound really bitter
@@dudedude7650 But when you say you dont pay attention to the nba anymore, and dont know wich player in todays game to compare youself to, then how can you name LeBron the GOAT when you dont know him.
@@crazyclown2650 People hate Laimbeer because he really tried to hurt people not just Jordan. He tried to break Larry Bird's neck. Laimbeer loved to cheap shot people to get inside their heads. Laimbeer hates Michael Jordan and will take a shot at him whenever he crawls from under whatever rock he was under. People talk about the bulls beating the pistons when they were old. The Pistons beat the Celtics when they were old. Their whole starting line up were born either the same year Laimbeer was or before so in 88 most of the players were in their early to mid 30s. The piston players besides Laimbeer and Edwards and Johnson were 30 and younger so again how did the Bulls beat them when they were old. Isiah and Rodman made the next 2 all star games and Isiah started in both 91 92 and 93 so yeah they were really old.
He just hated Jordan like sooo much, wouldn't even complete the whole game after he got swept to shake hands or anything, like he once said "who's he" Most hated player of all time imo
Like what did ESPN expect BILL LAIMBEER yes that guy to say anything good about MJ let alone say he's the 🐐 He probably hated MJ more than he would hate a man that killed his mother 😂
@@dangelorussell5329 the one where he said “Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever put on shoes and play in our game, no doubt about it” lol that one?
@@koberino4872 no stupid look it up on RU-vid literally Scottie had uttered that blasphemy on numerous occasions before randomly switching up in 2019 after LeBron didn’t dive for a loose his first year with the lakers which is dumb asf
That’s honestly how defense should be played in today’s game. Punch them in the mouth, shove them, do whatever. I wish they got that in today’s game, but too bad the NBA is soft
robert leamon he had two prime all stars with him most of the time. Had a say in team construction. He was the best player in the world with all stars with him. How much else did he need?
@@philbosh03 What is he lying about tho I think MJ is the greatest but one thing you have to admire is the passion in which they played the game, they still have that adversity within former competition, it was played with more heart but I think right now the NBA is played with more skill
@@francisdavid2747he's lying about who the greatest player is just cuz his spite for the other. U can't say he's the greatest because he didn't like him and thats all his reasoning is behind why he thinks lebron is the greatest it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out
Carl Malone was way dirtier but he was not the target of the media. Many players in that era played just as rough but the Pistons embraced it & ran with it to get the name of the bad boys. Watch how dirty Malone,Ewing,Bird,Rambus..... many more were back then. But like I said it was most frustrating with Laimbeer because he had very little athletic ability. Could not run or jump, not quick. He was a great shooter & actual really good defensive player. He should be in the Hall Of Fame. He was actually a much better player then Rodman was who was also dirtier then Laimbeer was.
Please!!! NO Comparison. MJ was GOAT of all time. MJ knew how to win and was more competitive. MJ played much better defense. MJ was the person you went to with 10 seconds left in the game to make the winning shot. No one gives the ball to Lebron to make a game winning shot. If anything they avoid giving it to him so he doesn't have to take free throw shots. MJ played during a time were teams actually played defense, like the Pistons. Nowdays everyone sits at the three point line and takes threes while everyone watches. Lebron is a star, but I would put him the league of Magic Johnson.
A lot of what he says is the truth when it comes to the game, and when it comes to early MJ...and when it comes to LBJ being a better team player. And I have love for both MJ and LBJ.
Laimbeer went 3-1 vs Jordan..he literally probably respects bird and magic more because they won when he played...mj was a scorer during this era..he didnt take off until these guys were no longer household names
It's not hate, it's called facts! Just because he doesn't go with the narrative the media push about Jordan doesn't mean he's hating! Jordan didn't beat them until they were older......Facts!
But they literally had to beat Jordan up to win. He literally says it. The era was rough back then. A prime Jordan in today's game and... Man!!!! Look what Kobe went on to do. So no, Lebron is great, but the times are different.
@@shadygrovebears9556 It's definitely bitterness. They couldn't fairly beat h im its why they tried to hurt him. The bad boys couldn't hang with anyone in todays game. Jordan would of destroyed them without trying to hurt him.
@@davidelsea1296 .... I take it you weren't old enough to watch those finals like i did? You're just going off those highlights in the video. The Pistons wasn't just bullish on the court. They played TEAM ball. Jordan was a selfish ball hog until he learned to pass the ball a little.... lo! This man has nothing to be bitter about! I can see if never beat him. They DOMINATED the bulls 3x until they got older!
Onlyrealmusic4life I get where you’re coming from, but there is a considerable amount of beef between the Bad Boys Piston teams and Jordan. Just see Isaiah Thomas. I will admit I’m bias, I am raised in Chicago, but objectively I think you have to say that this is not the best source.
That’s false plenty of players who played against mj still think he’s the goat it’s just people who don’t fear MJ and know how to beat him know Lebron would be harder to beat
Mike twitty what bill laimbeer is talking about Jordan's 1- 8 record before pippen showed up then he even said that's when they went on their run so how is that hate!
Leonardo Moore think about it. If there’s only 23 teams in the league. And you only have 4 teams who have won the title for the whole 1980s and 3 of those teams are from the East. That just says about the concentration of talent at that era. MJ himself wouldn’t be able to pull it off, hey even your Bron Bron cried for help.
Most people don't even know this, but Bill Laimbeer actually changed his name at some point from the name he was given at birth, which was Hugh Jassole.
Nope. He beat Jordan until he finally turned 33 years old. Why would he have problems saying that Jordan is the greatest? It would just make him look better.
It's a rivalry??... Real quick is Bill Lambier and Jordan still in the NBA? I could be missing something but last time I checked if you're not in the NBA you can't be NBA rivals
Curstin Conway well considering that they were so bitter that they walked off the court with out shaking hands they seemed to care quite a bit that they lost
Zack Hayes bro he was apart of the pistons team that literally killed Jordan year after year! 😂 know you’re history before talking. They literally soned Jordan.
@@Mannythedon24 and what happened when Jordan got another All star in Pippen? I think the result was 4-0 in eastern conference finals....get the brooms out!!!
As a Piston’s fan I get annoyed now when Zeke & Laimbeer say the Pistons got old, so the Bulls finally beat them. Just admit it - the Bulls legitimately overtook Detroit in the 1991 playoffs. I’ve never heard the 1988 Celtics say the Pistons beat them in ECF only because they were old and injured.
I get and appreciate your point, but my take from the different pieces Ive seen on The Pistons is they where emotionally drained. Like the man said they went to three straight finals and 5 conference titles. That is five years playing alot more basketball at the highest level then other teams and players. MJ himself, "retired" citing he was exhausted after 3 finals and 5 conference title appearances.
They did get old. A basketball players career is an average of 10 years. Their prime is around 5 to 7 years. They were already battling for like 5 or 6 years as one of the top teams. Defense is hard because you have to ramp up the intensity. That's why most focus on mainly offense. What did you think? Anything pass ten years your window d down. Use common sense before you talk. Micheal was getting into his. Their was no stopping him I get sick of reading stupid comments. Show some respect. The Pistons were warriors before the bulls came into their own and pistons don't get enough credit. Everybody always hating on them just because they were the underdogs that took down all the legends.
A Wax I’ve noticed they’ve been trying to discredit MJ in a subtle way the past couple weeks. Just a few days ago they had a topic titled something along the lines of “who deserves more credit for MJ’s success, Phil or Scottie”. I’ve never seen any title like that for LBJ, never seen one titled “who deserves more credit for LBJ’s success, Wade or Kyrie etc”
What's wrong ESPN, Isiah Thomas wasn't available for this interview? Asking Bill Laimbeer about MJ's legacy is like asking Joe Exotic about Carole Baskins smfh. Anybody who knows ANYTHING about 1980's basketball knows the Bad Boy Pistons and MJ's Bulls DO NOT LIKE EACH OTHER. Lmao I used to sort of respect this channel but Corona has them really struggling to find ways to stay on LeBron's jockstrap, even more than usual sheesh.
When you says “I have played in the greatest era” and MJ dominated that era you referring to, then it’s obvious equation 😎🤙🏼 MJ Dominate + Greatest Era = Goat 🐐
@@DanDan-jb1cx nope he didn't. in 88-89 season it was 4-2 and 89-90 season the score was 4-3 which means pistons aint sweep bulls. But following year bulls swept them as 4-0. so next time, before you drop a comment, you better research or not lie.
It's funny to watch people try to ignore Bill's words, only because Michael Jordan was one of his most formidable rivals. They beat Michael Jordan 3 straight years. So that's why he says this. To be fair, Lebron has been playing since 03.
Jordan literally ruined Isiashs whole career, won 6 championships with the team Isiah grew up idolizing. Swept him. Then booted him off Olympic team. Most people never even heard of Isiah Thomas.
@@thedailyidiot4817 Laimbeer has always HATED Jordan with a passion, part of it might have to do with PTSD from Jordan dunking on him quite a few times
In an interview on the Tonight Show MJ stated that on jump shots Laimbeer could not elevate higher than him to block his shot and instead resorted to dirty tactics. Laimbeer knew it and so did Jordan! There will always be Bulls Jordan era haters and they interviewed probably the biggest one!!!
That was the same guy who walked out the court like a sore loser when jordan hit a long game winning buzzer beating 3 against his pistons in 1993 lol 😂😂😂😂😂
Totally agree hes prideful cant take the lost and admit Jordan is thee best player! 6 championships involves team! If Lebron passes 6 then we can say he's the best! I remembered and watch all 5 pistons that guarded him not just 3 and they were trying to hurt him. Old they weren't that old, Bill was 33 yrs and Isaiah 29 the other pistons were under 30...After all these yrs sadly to see him sore loser..not bad boys it's sad boys 😂😂😂
Laimbeer: " As we got older, it became easier for them". When Jordan beat them Isiah Thomas and Rodman were 29, Dumars were 27, Laimbeer 33, Aguirre 31, John Sally 25. Most of them were in their prime.
@@cumbusta9175 you don’t understand the subtle references he’s making, he’s been throwing shots at mj for years trying to belittle him in every interview.. this one it’s not very clear but if you see others you’ll know... you just clearly don’t watch enough 90’s ball to understand
MJ threatened them so much that they had to create a defense that had to knock him down in order to stop him. No one had to create a defense against Lambeer to stop him.
TheBestFighter losing in the 1st round is a lot worse than losing in the finals. Your comment just made me lose brain cells. LeBron plays basketball better than Jordan, its just a fact.
TheBestFighter This is the generation for participation awards as long as you get there that means just as much as winning lol 😂 but trust me majority of people don’t think Lebron is the goat who actually watched Jordan
BuzZ VideoZ On point with that comment. Jason Terry shut him down. It took hacking and literally trying to kill a man in MJ. Those series were brutal. Nothing like it except maybe the 92 playoffs with the Knicks.

Another problem is Bill' saying that MJ had to learn to trust his teammates before he started winning and Lebron was doing it from the beginning is that MJ's field goal percentage and assists numbers with the Bulls, were actually higher earlier in his career before they started winning championships.
I’m a casual fan and I can say that I have a pretty good idea of how any player plays (e.g. Lebron) even though I’ve only seen around half of his games. I think that’s what he means, you don’t need to be a die hard fan or watch every game to get a rough idea of how strong a player is

Lol I remember when MJ went in Arsenio Hall's show and just flat out dissed Bill. Said he couldn't play ball and was the dirtiest player in the NBA. He probably still salty from that
Laimbeer talks about the Pistons getting older making it easier for the Bulls. Pistons ages in 1991 when the Bulls swept them from the playoffs. Isiah Thomas 29, Joe Dumars 27, Dennis Rodman 29, Bill Laimbeer 33, Mark Aguirre 31, Vinny Johnson 34, John Salley 26. It's not that the Pistons were old. It's that Jordan's supporting cast finally developed.
Davarius Javon that’s not old when compared to the Bulls age. They were very close in age and he’s just trying to make excuses and discredit the Bulls for dethroning them.
You guys keep forgetting that Jordan didn't win any championships until some of the bad boys'pistons went to the bulls. Yeah. Put some respect on LeBron James name
Rodman, Salley and Edwards went to the Bulls in 96 and Chicago had 3 championships by that point. Nevermind that Salley and Edwards hardly left the bench. Nice try
@Lion of truth... Exactly 👍 Bill was a trouble maker and he's still troubled by the GHOST OF JORDAN. BUT HE KNOWS HOW TO DISGUISE IT NOW THAT HE'S MATURED.
He was both tough and dirty. You don’t play that many games in a row and that many minutes without being tough. He couldn’t jump at all but still lead the league in rebounding one year and that’s a sign of toughness.
