Some LG refrigerators may break down more easily due to issues with the linear compressor, which is responsible for keeping food cold. A federal lawsuit was filed in 2024 alleging that LG's linear compressors break down years before the company claims they should, and that LG is aware of the issue. The lawsuit seeks to extend the compressor warranty, provide refunds for those who have replaced their compressor, and compensate owners for repair bills and spoiled food. In September 2020, LG settled a similar class-action lawsuit by offering qualifying consumers a five-year extended warranty and other compensation

Call LG 800 243 0000. Compressor should be still under warranty. You might be lucky and don’t have to pay anything) Mine was 6 years old. I had to pay $516 for labor to replace a compressor.

Hell, I don't have to watch the video to answer this one. They are DESIGNED to fail so that you are required to buy another one every few years. Growing up as a kid we had ONE and only ONE fridge and that beast was as rock solid and trustworthy like nothing else.

Our LG washer and dryer have been excellent after many years of use.

I'm on my second one in 15 years, and it now needs replacing. The washer has already been replaced after multiple service calls, along with the dryer.

Any appliance that says bluetooth or WiFi is junk , Samsung stove went through 3 main boards in 2 yrs. at $400 a pop , high tech junk !!!

I like how people think that units a designed to fail or that one brand is better than another one. I actually sell appliances for a living...they are not designed to fail. You just expect a 2,000$ unit to last 40 years like the 1,200$ unit you bought 40 years ago. Do the math with inflation, production cost, transportation...everything has been doubling and doubling and doubling. You want the same quality ?!? It's 100% possible, but the same fridge would be 10,000$ instead. The real problem is us the consumers. We want to pay less and/or the same price and expect the same quality. Another point: Electronic parts used to be way bigger than they are now. Since those parts are now smaller, they don't have the same resistance to heat = will not last The consumers are always asking for more without wanting to pay more. I'm always honest with my customers and tell them that they should not expect their appliances to last over 10 years....and NO going with a different brand is not going to change a single thing.
