He's one of my favorite drivers in the feeder series, and I've watched him since ADAC in 2018, he's a superstar and hopefully put NZ back on the f1 map

Very talented, unfortunately, without the right machinery under him he'll probably end up overshadowed and or overdriving the car, which is a shame, he and Piastri could both hold numerous world championships. To be fair at the moment, his best bet would be out preforming a mid/low tier car...ala Leclerc and Gasly ..without the whole FU Gasly from RBR.

The RedBull talent comming true the ranks is massive. Liam Lawson, Juri Vips, Dennis Hauger and Jehan Daruvala. Maybe the need to consider buying a 3th team on the grid🤣🤣

Daruvala is nowhere near the level of the others. Hauger is a Red Bull sponsored driver, not a junior, as is Jack Doohan. The only RB juniors in F3 are Iwasa, Crawford and Edgar (hence why they're Red Bull liveried cars).

Lawson is wildly talented. Among the current F2 grid, I place him among the most exciting along with the Prema duo (Piastri/Shwartzman) and Pourchaire.

I’m a Vips fan, just getting that out of the way. I was very excited two see Lawson and Vips at Hitech this year, after what seemed to be a good year for them last year with Mazepin. When Juri’s car decides to actually work right and not commit suicide then he’s such a fast driver, and it’s crazy. But we can’t rely on his car not dying to get him points, which is why I believe Lawson is the next Red Bull junior into F1, he’s so well rounded, and his car actually seems to enjoy driving.

My dad and brother are massive contenders in NZ Kartsport and have known Liam since he was a young cadet. I can tell you that we all knew this was a natural born driver. It’s amazing to see him progress throughout the f3 and F2 series and as of currently the DTM. He’s a perfect example of someone who could make it into f1 based on talent and not just the size of his sponsor’s pockets. One of the nicest and most humble drivers on the track too might I add. Lesshhoo Liam!!

The fact that Red Bull Junior team has drivers from countries who want a driver badly is crazy. Imagine Liam from New Zealand, Juri Vips from Estonia, Jehan from India and Hauger from Norway. To add that Yuki from Japan. These are all from countries who don't have drivers on the grid often. Also you can add Max to that list

Great video Josh. I think this lad certainly has what it takes for F1, maybe not for next year, unless he wins it all, but I'm sure he'll reach it. Red Bull really has to make a tough decision next year, whether to keep Gasly and Tsunoda or promoting Vips or even Lawson... And I really liked the thing of "a driver that a whole country's been waiting for", I'm Italian and I feel the nation has been waiting for a star for so long now... Hopefully Gabriele Mini or Nannini could fill this role?

I am so glad one of my friends is a big fan of Liam, so i became a fan of him myself. Started following him in F3 and seeing him do so well in DTM and F2 is amazing to me. hopefully he will make f1 one day edit: Liam just missed out on a super license thanks to an error last year. I dont know if i can still find the article about it tho. And liam did have *some* experience in gt3 cars as he did a few races back in NZ at the start of the year!

There are so many Piastri is on a back to back championship winning run if he win this year again in f2 which he very well could the would be 3 in a row how is that not exciting maybe because he is Australian ?

@@alexsmith32012 Piastri is helped massively by the Prema effect. There's a reason why the only non-Prema F3 champion since the series (re-)started was Lando Norris. As a matter of fact, the Prema cars finished (or could've finished) 1-2-3 in the championship several times in the past 5 years. Same goes for Piastri's Renault Eurocup title, he was driving for the team that dominated the series for 3 years running. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean he's bad, but it's hard to compare him to anyone else but his teammates, and his teammates haven't done much when driving for other teams. Lawson drove for obscure teams and was still very competitive. Same is true for Pourchaire, who might actually be the best of the bunch, considering how inexperienced he is.

@@gamesitwatch6287 If you call it a spec series you can't use prema as an excuse. Piastri is better than Pourchaire and Lawson. I have seen them in many races Lawson is always doing the ill over take you or defend you until you end up in the wall. Pourchaire is literally only 2 years younger than most of them out there you would think he was 10 years younger the way people go on about him media hype. How did end up at Prema or the Alpine academy if he is average he is from the other side of the world with only one sponsor

Super biased here but after racing this kid and watching him grow up, I believe he's got exactly what Red Bull is looking for. His moves are aggressive but smart, if there's a gap he will go for the pass and if there isn't one, he will make one. Not only is it a driver that NZ has been waiting for but what the world needs to help continue the spectacle of F1 exciting. Coming into a new era of F1 with less aero-hungry cars Liam will be in his element, wheel to wheel racing with no f**ks given.

I feel bad about Fraga, who raced Lawson, Tsunoda and others in the TRS 2020 and now plays Gran Turismo in his hometown. (which is where I grew up...)

His DTM performance cannot be underlinied enough. He was the youngest driver winning a DTM-race and he did it on his debut. Even after four races he's still 2nd in the standings and he's not just only fighting against young drivers. There are some experinced GT-drivers in the series like Marco Wittmann. As a German I love DTM and drivers like Lawson enrich the series. It's always sad to see them go to Formula 1, even though I totally understand why drivers prefer to drive Formula 1 than DTM

Lawson, Vips, Pourchairre and Piastri are more than good enough for F1. As much it is sad to say this it is time for the old guard, Fernando and Kimi, and those who have had their time, Perez and Bottas, and also those who are just bad, Latifi and Mazepin, to make room for the new guard

In terms of who is most likely to spend 2+ years in the 2nd Red Bull seat next to Max down the line, i feel like Liam and Dennis Hauger are the two top picks, and we'll have to see how they perform once they get their F1 shot in AT.
