I thought it was an old sleeping hat that people would wear with their PJ's back in the olden days. They made a bunch of period items for the ghosts, and I figured this was one of them.
See like we've been in the trenches so long the bare minimum seems so glamorous to us. This is the first expansion pack in awhile to feel like it's EXPANDING the game and that's CRAZY because it's quite literally in the name but it's true. I think whomever was in charge of the production of this pack and the direction it went, If this pack proves to be a success should have a hand and influence over future packs. I believe sims has had numerous ideas but never a leader(s) who could iron out the wrinkles and make a clear, complete, and apparent pack! So if this delivers I'll be gagged and looking forward to the next pack... If it flops well, we can't be surprised.

Sure, good job getting back to the Sims 4 low bar, but compared to other The Sims games none of the Sims 4 has made Sims 2 and Sims 3 levels. They bank on people not remembering or not knowing that, or just saying this most recent pack is soooo much better while it is only compared to the more recent expansions but if you compare to earlier expansions it might be on the same level, not an improvement over EVERY expansion just the recent ones.
@@G94-u4c death and the expanded aspect of mourning and grief are big reasons to get this pack. I mean the way ppl grieve over others depends on relationships and TRAITS. A thing they’ve been ignoring for awhile is integrating traits into more reactive gameplay, so I’ll have to give sims a bone for that because it’s been awhile since we’ve have integral trait integrated gameplay.
Did anybody notice some odd looking encased tent thingy in the demo that they just didn’t mention what it was, but I don’t see it in Satch’s build/buy items screenshot (unless I missed it). I had issues hearing one of the presenters so I wonder what has yet to be discovered in gameplay. To be honest, I am kind of excited for this pack, even if I should know to keep my hopes down. It feels good to feel that way after so long. One thing I don’t remember being mentioned (and hope for) is an additional way to photograph your sim. I’d love the chance to make portraits of your Sim similar to the photos you can put up for a funeral. Fingers crossed….

Theory on the fact this is higher quality than other recent packs: Maybe the others were made whenever there was still a chance of getting a new game, so the priorities were shifted (and it showed) but now that the focus is Sims 4, we have all hands on deck towards making packs actually fun and detailed? Like I've heard they have different teams and maybe the ones responsible for what was Renee are now being put on packs instead

Ur probably became allergic to your lip balm. I randomly became allergic to most lip balms, so when I got a flare up when trying a bew one I just left my lips alone and applied vaseline occasionally and made sure to stay hydrated so the dryness doesn't make it worse
@@scawydemon Not OP, but I have the same issue and the ingredient for me is Lanolin, not beeswax. I'm also allergic to lanolin in other products like lotions and stuff. It's great for your skin if you don't have an allergy to it, but it's a very common allergen.
Theres definitely some items missing from Build/Buy in that picture. I remember a gorgeous wallpaper that's not there, and a very detailed window box that stuck out from the wall, paintings, just....more things I saw in the livestream.
I’m so glad there's so much cross-pack compatibility! If we ever get an 80s/90s pack, a 'Dream Phone' board game would be amazing! One feature I wish this Dealth pack had (though I doubt they’ll add it) is a year tracker. It would be great to see how many true generations a Sim has lived-like tracking each year as 4 seasons instead of just days. Maybe one day this will come! But this is the first expansion pack I've preordered in a long time.
What if this pack introduces a gameplay where if Father Christmas and the Grim Reaper have a child, they can have the power to be a Ghost of Christmas Past/Present/Future?
This is the first time I've pre ordered a sims 4 pack, I really hope they keep up this amount of effort. Fingers crossed it's not broken, I can cope with sims dancing at the wake if the main stuff works lol
I wish the CAS was more historical costumes and options showing signs of death, like for example knife sticking out from head as accessory in hats, or being able to add mold signs 😅

Psst if you consider yourself a bit more savvy with modding, I would suggest EA DLC unlocker. I won't say too much, just that it will be a great ordeal to overcome but you will gain everything in return.
Do you lick your lips a lot or something? You can try layering on chapstick or vaseline at night before you go to bed so your lips has some 6-8 hours to try and heal behind a barrier. Try that one night. I hope it helps you! I am very excited for this pack. I have literally every expansion and every pack and most of the kits. I wasn't excited for any of the expansions or packs because all of it has been done in Sims, Sims 2, Sims 3...which I have had and have played. So everything prior has been very expected. Life and Death is interesting in that it gives us new things we haven't done before...the Grim Reaper job for one, wills and funerals, even being able to be reborn...all of that is stuff that had never been available in previous installations of Sims. So this is a really good pack and I do hope that they continue making awesome packs like this for the game. I'll keep buying it.
I hope this means the sims 4 is going to get better! Hopefully cars and buglers are coming soon. Hopefully some of those packs such as the retro life and the road trip pack become a reality, because cars and landline phones are part of those packs!
Live and death looks so good, well thought out, a lot of work on it and gameplay, I think that if they stay on this direction for the next packs, there is still hope to deepen the game and bring out the best.
I'm being cautiously optimistic about the Life & Death pack, I expect it to be broken but it's theme and style are seriously so up my alley. I'll definitely not be buying it straight from EA though, I can't justify doing that anymore or paying full price. The 80s/90s retro mall pack. MEGA YES! I need it all! If they announced that pack I might cry I want it so much. So much new gameplay I've been wanting for literally a decade.
Is it safe to get it from other places? I always wait for a sale for the packs I buy but sales happen faster on 3rd party sites. I miss the days of sims 2 and 3 where I bought a cd 😭
The point is to mix and match with other packs you own. They clearly are limited to certain amount of items in a pack they create. So some items aren’t going to be included. Besides the amount of toilets we have is insane.
Honestly, it doesn't even matter to me how great the new expansion packs are, if my base game doesn't even run properly. It is just no fun to play, when your sims constantly refuse to do what you told them to do, cancelling it automatically, get stuck in a loop or standing around for hours doing NOTHING. I have to click on it 10 times sometimes to finally get them to do anything, especially with taking care of infants and toddlers. Or my sims just get stuck and I have to reload. It is so frustrating and as long as they don't fix those general bugs, I can't enjoy this game and wouldn't buy a single expansion pack. I can't play for more than half an hour before being utterly frustrated by all the bugs and quit.
I'm probably the only player not excited about this pack. It does look great and all but I would MUCH rather have all the packs refreshed so that they work instead of this. I love that we are getting a cemetery lot type but there are plenty of other things I'd like more (game play things not more STUFF).
I appreciate the mention that the cas isn’t for you, because it very much IS for ME. I love all that Victorian fashion stuff, and you bet that includes the Christmas carol nightwear. I find Michael Caine’s look as Scrooge in the muppet Christmas carol peak coziness that I can only aspire to achieve one day. The plague doctor mask is also very funny to me-for everyone else in the comments saying that it’s “from the Black Death era” no it isn’t-the extant masks from that period, while they do resemble birds, are FAR goofier looking to the modern eye. This is a version popularized by later woodcuts and has stayed in the gothic zeitgeist because it looks way cooler. The basic idea of it was that they believed that sickness was caused by bad air, or “miasma,” so plague doctors would have a very early version of PPE that included a pouch over the nose and mouth (the “beak”) that held essentially potpourri, to combat the bad air with the sweet smells of dried plants. I loveee talking about miasma theory it’s so fun

Yeah, Ebenezer Scrooge wore one XD editing for further comments to make: I'm into a lot of the CAS stuff this time, because it's my thing - but the men's hair is shitty, I'll agree on that.
If they can make a high quality 80s/90s themed pack, that would be incredible. This expansion pack does look promising though, and I personally am a fan of killing off my sims😂
The Mask is referring to Doctor Plague, which I'm kinda surprised EA give tones of spooky stuff, they went very wild on that pack. I mean I'll love it so bad, but I mean the skeletal hands on some costumes and few little steampunk. It's really details we need more on clothing parts, I'm waiting to really deep dive into the build more and isolate myself from the rest of the community to deep dive the pack alone without being Spoiled and enjoy my save that I start to prepare in between. ☕👌👀

I can't see what's so exciting about this tbh. I have no interest in continuing my sims life as a rebirth, if I wanted to keep playing the same sim l'd put on long lifespan or turn it off. Ghosts are also so boring and visually unappealing, but know they'll have some powers like a witch. Not very interesting overall

I’m excited too! It’s the first sims 4 expansion that seems unique, they are expanding on a concept the predecessors didn’t. It will be glitch for sure, but I hope it isn’t game breaking

The build buy is fine, base game and other packs already have thousands of furniture to mix and match. Imagine if every pack include a new toilet, we would have hundres new toilets by now, there is so much they can create until they just start repeating the same style.
I heard si s guru george is the person behind this pack. He also made realm of magic, cottage living and werewolves. If it's true he's helped make this pack, he should be behind every expansion pack moving forward.
Satch, if you exfoliate very lightly and use a lip mask every night (not chapstick - it makes your lips dryer) it might help a little bit with the irritation, idk about the red color but it won’t feel as bad I don’t think ~ ^^

Hi!! Obsessed with plague doctors, I think they’re so cool! (Fun fact, they store herbs in the ‘beaks’ of their masks to mask scents and to hold out the plague) So imagine my surprise when he called the mask a fetish mask! 1:43
I enjoy weddings even though they're chaotic and never go right, I like planning and setting things up anyways. So I think I'll enjoy the funerals too even though I expect sims to be doing push ups and wearing bear costumes. Not that I think it's acceptable that they don't seem to try to fix these issues, but I still have fun so I'll still play it and I think I'll enjoy the pack overall. I love to play one sim from life to death so being able to reincarnate as a random baby in a new family is super fun to me. My other playstyle is family generation style, playing a sim and building a family then choosing my favorite of their children and moving to them when they move away, so expanded inheritance is great. And more goals for my sims in the Bucket List is also great. I don't even play supernatural very often, and even if it didn't have all the cool ghosts and grim career and expanded supernatural stuff I would still be excited for it, which is great! Although the supernatural stuff looks fun too! I like that is has so much to add to both realism players and supernatural players. I have high hopes. Please EA do this well haha
The aesthetics of this pack is perfect, one of the best for sure. But I wish I was more excited about the gameplay... I'm not a big fan of playing with occults

I’m still very wary (worried too ?) about this pack… I’m so scared it will break everything again … You can still make another channel nevertheless (of course at your pace, I will totally subscribe and I’m sure many too ): yeah Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts series, Shadow Hearts serie + its prequel Kouldelka, Dragon Age series, silent hill series, quantic dream games (Detroit, Heavy rain, beyond two souls), Life is Strange, Zelda games !

Satch: the funny looking leather mask with the big nose is a plague doctor. They were actually used during the last plague, people who came to doctor a victim would wear that mask and they'd live a little longer. I'm not sure what a plague doctor has to do with contemporary era Sims 4, but it's not a random leather fetish thing.
lol, love your honesty, Satch. I love the Sims. and i never get tired of it. but i treat it like all my favorite things: i play when i feel inspired, then take breaks and do other things when i don't. and i've always been able to find new ways to play. but that's just MY personal experience. being used to how nintendo will make amazing games like animal crossing, then just be done with it and move on to the next game without adding continuous updates, i'm here for whatever the sims team wants to do.... but that doesn't mean i'm ok with products that dont actually work. i'm with everyone on that. i personally like "Telling my story, my way". sims is a "life-simulator" and i "play with life" the way I want to. all the packs and expansions are like, when i was little and had barbies; i got clothes and accessories and cars to give me more ways to interact with my stories... the sims is basically playing digital barbies. idk. just the way i see it... that said, this life and death pack is the first pack that i've been genuinely EXCITED for in a way not like the others. to the point where i'm even considering buying it when it comes out and not waiting for all the reviews like i usually do. lol, risky, i know. no matter how much i've loved the other games in the past, i've always waited for the community to review them before buying. but we shall see!!💖 *side comment: i got distracted by the "To do" list you had pinned to your closet so i paused and read it - "Find an emotionally available and financially stable boyfriend." lol. same, Satch... same. 😅💖
Life on the road concept: sims 2 bon voyage, sims 3 world adventures + restorable junk car Adventure camp/prehistoric adventure: sims cast away but it’s actually island living’s conservationist career but as a pack 80/90’s pack concept: sims 1 studio town + 2 already available part time sims 4 jobs with a bonus sims 3 paper round kid They’re literally recycling previous sims games and calling them “concepts” and seemingly no one is noticing because it’s been 10 years of forgetting about them and enduring disappointments. They’re really thinking about selling us sims 1,2 and 3 in crumbs for this broken mess they’ve created
Satch, if you don’t have early access you should watch Lilsimsie’s new video because she has it. She touches on a lot of stuff from the pack as well, plus she address some bugs and other issues with the pack. I highly recommend her! 😄
I can`t wait for your review when the pack comes out. As for your lips... are you hydrated enough? It could be that you need to drink more water. That is, if they are chapped.
Magnesium, calcium maybe for the lips, if they peel a lot without uou thinking about it it can be a nutritional defenciency. Hemp seeds for magnesium, sparkling mineral water (with a spash of fruit juice) for calcium.
i was hoping wed get more romanian/central european fashion & more old style clothes, they feel too contemporary for me i was hoping wed get more like victorian or georgian era clothing, they could have even had a “peasant” outfit as a nod to sims medieval. I was also really hoping this would be more of an elder focus style wise. the build mode feels super generic too, some really cool pieces but just seems super american to me still. So many of the features feel redundant with the paranormal stuff pack existing basically if u want the full experience of this its actually another 10er thrown on… idk im looking forward to it maybe when its on a 50% sale though 🫣 it actually does feel like an expansion pack i just wonder what will we have next because they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas now. we have all the expected packs now… what more can they really do with TS4???
