Been binge watching all of these realtors in Maine with the listings of lakeside cabins and wow what a beautiful place. It seems like there a bagillion of these. Some of these are videos downright painful to watch. I mean that in a postive way.
I was stationed at Loring AFB in the 80's and spent alot of time in these woods hunting and fishing and enjoying the "wild " of it. Live in Delaware now but was born in Lincoln many years ago. Don't know if we'll ever live there again but we visit as often as we can.
Many vacations in Camden, college at Unity. Still haven’t gotten up to this beautiful region. My dad had a book decades ago. “The Allagash” by Lew Dietz. Definitely want to see the Allagash. Thanks for this video Rick 😌
Been watching your videos for about a year now can't believe how cheap the real estate is comparison to Oregon houses here are 3 times as much I'm a retired carpenter and the craftsman ship of some are amazing
I’m a realtor near San Diego. The low RE prices and rock bottom property taxes have me glued to these videos. But the shock of loosing 4 months to the weather is…. Well, the wife says NO
We are seeing people move here from CA, CO, TX and other western States. Low cost of real estate, plenty of water, and typically cooler temperatures during the summer months are part of the draw.
Totally agree that it's a wonderful place to live. One thing to be aware of is that medical care is marginal, if not downright poor. This is based upon personal experience. Just being truthful.
Most of that land is held by large companies and are large tracts. There are a small amount of smaller parcels but mostly the tracts are owned by people or entities that may own a few thousand to a a million or more acres. Irving is a company that towns a lot of the land in the region. Private land with public access is a very nice benefit and privilege we enjoy here.
@@lifestyleproperties I have a camp in New Portland and I love that area. It’s only about hour and a half from the turnpike. People that are interested in the Allagash might like Chain of Ponds or Coburn Gore. A hike up Snow mountain is worth the effort.
I have driven through most of Maine, from the Bold Coast through tthe western Mountains. Nope, the Saint John Valley is the prettiest part of the state.
@@richardtheriault7624 Matter of opinions. Iam a skier and the Sugarloaf/Saddleback area beats Any downhill skiing in Aroostook county. I went to UMPI and lived in the county for a few years. My guess is your from the St John valley? What are your reasons? Because it’s the most remote with no interstate? Is it culture because you have a French name? Perhaps you speak French? It’s probably the rivers and waterways that go for miles. That’s my best guess. Perhaps no one from out of state.
why live in allagash I want to live inside the gate I want to live up north I want to get away from the stupidity of this country has come. and I'm only in coastal Maine and it's still a unknown small town. but unfortunately it's a hard place to jump on a lobster boat and go haul traps if you live up in the alligash
