My main problem with the post-Endgame phases is they are introducing way too many characters and not tying them together ever. Why should we care about the Eternals when they were never mentioned again? The stinger setups are easily forgotten since they don't do anything with them for years after. You nailed it with saying we need to care about these characters more than just Easter eggs/cameos.

A big issue is alot of fans have ENDURED phase 4 for some sort of pay off and kang is supposed to be that pay off and after loki season 2 finale kangs character is more intriguing than ever. I think pirates of the Carribean showed exactly why you shouldn't fire actors purely on allegations

Thinking that Kang was the problem for the lame interest in Quantumania while it actually was the script that was the problem shows exactly that they would be missing the point! Kang is an amazing character.

You guys are right about the Avengers, the biggest problem with phase 4 and 5 is they're not connecting the characters

Getting rid of Kang and randomly inserting Doom would be an injustice to both characters. Kang would end up being a wasted villain and Doom would feel as you said, rushed. I do think the original avengers coming back is in reference to the multiverse war. Also most of what I read about Doom replacing Kang is it WAS - past tense - the plan. Probably referring to the underperformance of Ant-Man 3. I highly doubt they’d go that route after watching Loki season 2. I really get the impression that they’re moving forward with Kang.

There is literal proof the man is innocent and yet all the articles I see want him fired and replaced. The woman lied on him. And instead of issuing an apology or admitting people misjudged. They rather an innocent man still go to trial as if there is no video out there showing he shouldn’t even be charged.

I want good stories again. That's really it. And I want Marvel to connect all of these amazing new characters. I have to wonder what they are all thinking is happening right now. Simu Liu is just waiting... it's terrifying. Compared to Phases 1-3, I worry that some of these actors will age out or give up before they even get all the movies they deserve.

I really hope they don’t get rid of Majors or Kang. It would be such a lazy cop out if they were to do what was rumored in this article.

There was one other major re-cast- Mark Ruffalo replacing Edward Norton. And that was a full-on protaganist being replaced and Norton was also an actor with a lot of star potential. Nevertheless, he's not even considered part of the franchise anymore, even though the villain from that film, Tim Roth, HAS shown up again.

If you do recast Kang, DO NOT even consider MBJ. Side note: they wanted to drop Kang since Quantumania? I heard rumors that they rewrote the ending, and initially, he was going to win against Ant-Man. If that's the case, then they made their own coffin. We were in shock and angry when Thanos snapped his finger. They made him dark. They decided for Kang to lose to Ant-Man. Of course, the response and the views will be low.

Everything you described in this video is the exact reason why it is dangerous for businesses to care solely about the feedback on social media (especially Twitter).

They're missing the point. Kang is a great character but they keep doing crappy stuff. They need to let the court case work itself out to determine if Majors stays. But also more than anything, make a good story. I'm enjoying Loki but I'm confident they're going to crash the season because they force endings to fit their future plans over writing interesting stories.

Johnathan Majors has been proven innocent and his acting is absolutely amazing. His face is in to many places to rehire anyone else as Kang. The Loki/Kang dynamic has been the best thing for the MCU Since Endgame. If they switch him or get rid of Kang they are purposely ruining themselves

Kang is a great villain and Jonathan Majors is playing him so well. In spite of Quantumania not being one of the best Marvel movies, King was great and the two seasons of Loki are great. I still think they can make these stories great.

The lack of a crossover is actually on point when it comes to the MCU current state, and I mean like a Main Event. It's hard to believe they had 18 projects in Phase 4 and had nothing as such. It ended with Black Panther 2 and that movie was a standalone story.

Chukwudi Iwuji would have made a great Kang. He was brilliant in Guardians, really brought that maniacal villian to life.

They should let the justice system show he's innocent but if not then talk about replacing him but give the man a chance to prove his innocence

One of the reasons the MCU has been so bad recently is that they keep cancelling their plans for things and replacing them with worse plans. Multiple MCU films or shows have undergone extensive reshoots, changes in creative direction, or post-production overhauls that made the projects worse, less compelling stories than the one they had planned. It keeps happening. They keep pushing "we'll fix it in post" to its absolute limits. Then eventually we get a plot synopsis for a better film that was never made over some silly unimportant reason; "we didnt want x_thing to happen bc it would have been sorta similar to y_thing that happened in another movie, so after the film was shot we completely rewrote the character arcs for our heroes & villains and changed the ending with some reshoots and rushed CGI." They need to stop scrambling everytime they perceive something to be going wrong, make a plan and execute the plan. This inability for ppl in management to make decisions and stick to them or allow their creators to make decisions is what famously ruined many comic book storylines, and it's ruining the MCU right now. You can't make all of that money if you cant make good products. You have to worry about making good products instead of panicking whenever you're not printing money.

I feel like some of the issues are just the gaps between character appearances. It felt like before you'd see a character and then they'd pop again in another movie in a couple years. Now we'll get a character introduced or a movie and then it's like 3-4 years later that they'll show up again and by then audiences already forgot about what happened with them previously and it just feels disjointed.

I genuinely feel Dr Doom will be the only villain they can transition too that carries enough weight to be the next "big bad". However that is one problem to the Marvel movie model is they constantly need a bad guy, specifically an ever increasingly "badder" guy.

There is a way to put Dr.Doom into the movies and even have some good Doom and Kang stories but don’t scrap Major as Kang Major is showing the range he has in his acting and and very easily play as multiple variants of Kang

It would be foolish for them to recast Kang or blip out Kang atp. Disney needs to learn their lesson from Johnny Depp. They ended their relationship with him and essentially killed the Jack Sparrow character (no one wants that to be recast or see a Pirates movie without him) only for them to have an egg in their face when the trial happened and the world saw that he wasn’t the abusive monster Amber Heard made him out to be. Especially considering the fact that all evidence so far points to Jonathan Majors being innocent. Disney already ruined Star Wars and Marvel idc what anyone says. They care about money not the story or fans.

I do hope all of this is just speculation. The way they’ve slowly built up Kang is very interesting. Especially compared to the way thanos was introduced. When they introduce doctor doom I’d like to see the same build up over time. I think pivoting back to the old avengers or changing main villains will be a sign that marvel is just not learning the right lessons. The characters aren’t the problem. It’s the writing and storytelling.

A major motivation for Doom was the rescuing of his mothers soul. The fracturing of the sacred timeline and subsequent pruning of timelines could impact on her status possibly erasing her from existence giving doom the motivation to go after those responsible. Enacting vengeance on kang wouldn’t be enough as he realizes the power that is up for grabs

Kang is a perfect way to reset everything so mutants can enter the mcu. The issue with the multiverse is that everything has been prep. Im ready for all of these peeks into the multiverse to start tieing in and some progress into the story

They have so much invested in this character. Its easy to replace the actor but it hard to replace the character

They should bring in Doom. Moving in the background. Setting things up. Sometimes helping the heroes, sometimes betraying them.. add some complexity to another "villain"

I really hope they explain why mobius’ name is mobius. I think Kang named don ‘mobius’ after Tony’s starks time travel device. The mobius strip.

When you create a plot point that variants of different characters exist and can look wildly different (Peter Parker, Loki, etc...), recasting Kang is the least amount of changes you can do if you replace Johnathan Majors compared to re-writing several franchise worth of movies.

Rehiring Downey isn't a bad idea, it's just they NEED to make sure that they make whatever character he plays different than he did as Tony Stark/Iron Man if he's going to be playing a different role. If he is playing as hologram Tony, that's a different story.

Watched Quantumania last night - sooo much better after watching Loki! Really highlights Jonathan Majors range as a character - they totally need to play this storyline out! Also I think the main city in Quantumania is a pre-version of the TVA (circular hallways in TVA overlooking the cityscape are almost identical). When it comes time to introduce Dr. Doom - cast Tom Ellis!!!!

Marvel DO NOT pull a reactionary DC move & start shuffling your slate before you finish the arc you’ve already set up. Do not recast, finish the contracts etc. I want to see this Kang story completed with Majors! He is my favorite MCU villain so far.

I'm actually emotionally invested into this story with kank and even jonathan majors. It's one thing to recast Jonathan majors. Which would be a major shame. But it also would be even worse for them to get rid of the king character. If they go ahead with that plan and just bring back the old Avengers. I think I will be done with Marvel. Marvel has way too many characters for them to be pigeonholed by the first six successful characters that they introduced in the movies. Corporations kill everything.

The only character who should come back from the main retirees is Steve Rogers, and that's because what happened with him returning the Infinity Stones is still a huge mystery, not just regarding the more nuanced particulars like returning the Soul Stone, but also answering what happened with him that his time machine went to the future without him. Depending on when he lost it or gave it up, that would be a huge explanation of why he ended up aging so much and why he appeared in the past in places he wasn't supposed to be (i.e. fighting Red Guardian)

Doom needs his own series and setup, he definitely needs the time to appear and develop. A recast of Kang would be preferable to just dropping him and a reintroduction of RDJ and SJ would be a bad idea if it's not just varients that make a short appearance.

"Proof Tony Stark has a heart" and "you can rest now" are the perfect ending for Tony, seeing him come back the same would ruin that beautiful exit. It would be better if they look for an Iron Man in alternate dimension are excited at seeing Tony again only to get there and it's someone else.

Ryan be careful with the, “oh screw him, he doesn’t deserve a career” comment. Brolin, Renner, etc had issues in the past but were forgiven. Majors hasn’t been proven guilty and tbh, I personally think it’s a witch hunt at best. Let’s let the courts play out and go from there.

There were 3 Spiderman actors and everyone can agree they look different but are the same character in the multiverse, doing something similar with kang is totally possible I feel. I think they might end kangs story in kang dynasty, and have dr doom lead into secret wars, but maybe not as the villan of that movie and he slowly becomes the big bad

Bringing back the original 6 as variants is a must, it’s what we’ve all expected. Replacing Kang is a no go though. They’ve spent 3+ years building him up already. Dr. Doom should be the next main villain though after the Multiverse Saga.

Agree that we don't need to rehash old characters we've moved on from. I think the only way they can "right the ship" (I actually am fine with what we've see so far) is to further develop the stories and fix the issues that people are complaining about

what they should do with Dr Doom is have him in the secret wars film as a random guy who helps out the avengers but goes a little too far, they win but end up having to stop Doom for some reason, either he gets killed by them or dies accidently. Then add an end credit scene where you see that Dr Doom was actually a robot, then you see a castle, camera goes inside and you see Dr Doom sitting in a throne room surrounded by hundreds of Doom bots and you realise theres something a lot more and darker to this guy than we realised.

Jonathan major IS Kang. No one else can play him right now and Doom has to wait his turn.

I get why, but it's kind of annoying that they don't mention the updates on Majors and how he essentially is the victim at this point.

There have been more than 1 SUCCESSFUL recastings in the MCU… not just Rhodie. In fact, all of them were recasts that we can look at in hindsight and say it was for the better. Bruce Banner, Howard Stark (recasting to show older is a little different). Ross is about to be recast with Harrison Ford and not to many people are mad about that. I am hoping that Kang is not recast and this debate becomes moot. The reports I have been hearing is that Jonathan Majors was falsely accused. I sure hope that’s the case. I love his work as Kang. But if a star did the things they were accused of, Ryan is right. They don’t deserve to be famous.

The thing about secret wars is that the amount of time needed to do the comic book story justice, secret wars better be 4 hours long because otherwise i dont feel like theyll be able to tell the whole entirety of secret wars

I think it should only be for a one-off like in Secret Wars. My biggest dream would be seeing Wesley Snipes, Hugh Jackman, Tobey Maguire, & RDJ sharing a screen as the 4 pillars of the live-action Marvel genre. That alone would make for an iconic crossover decades in the making. You could throw in people like Chris Evans’ Cap, Patrick Stewart, Andrew Garfield, Cox’s Daredevil, Bernthal’s Punisher, Deadpool, Evan Peter’s Quicksilver, Fassbender’s Magneto, D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, & Dafoe’s Green Goblin. There’s a ton of stellar characters under the Marvel IP that can finally interact now. I highly doubt we see all that tho. Most I predict is the NWH cast & OG FoX-Men getting a proper Avengers payday/send-off before they hit the multiversal soft reboot with a new cast of Mutants & other characters. I hope they use any possible cameos to serve the story & elevate the newer MCU generation. What I want most of all is good writing. I wish they would hire the Daniels to direct (see: Everything Everywhere All at Once) & get some Spider-Verse writers since they can tell a multiverse story with heart. Maybe they can take a page out of ATSV & pay homage to some of the classic cartoon, video game, & comic variants, or link BTSV to Secret Wars somehow.

The rumor should stay a rumor. I love the Loki show so far . Kang can bring dr doom actually back by getting the two old actors who portrayed doom but with justice. Look at NWH. Don’t just ignore the story just for money. Look at age of ultron. Not great but it got a great arc after endgame.

I would LOVE to see Angelica Jones introduced in the next Spider-Man. With Peter headed to community college without his friends I think it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce her as a friend, maybe they hesitate to get too close but then he finds out she has powers and he won’t feel so lonely anymore after no way home. The Firestar Spider-Man team up could be so fun! And with MJ sorta out of the picture maybe they even have a short lived romance. Drama can happen when MJ ends up back in the picture. I think it has great potential and adds another super cool fire throwing Avenger
