Winning in India is never as straightforward as " oh look at us we now play positive cricket, we don't play for draws we will come hard at you and you will surrender". If it really was that easy India wouldn't have been the hardest place to tour in the last decade or so. To beat India in India you have to consistently outplay them in all three departments and that's something this England team is just not capable of doing with or without "bazball"

The batsmen have led England down. The fact that they don't trust their defences or they're clueless how to tackle Indian conditions. Just sad to hear this from my favourite Batsman of all time. The definition of entertainment for every format is different, you wanna see some bang bang action then there is limited over cricket but Test cricket has never been about anything like that, it's the purest form of cricket and I love watching the game all day long for 5 days. What's fun to watch in test cricket is how a bowler sets up a batsman to get him out and how a batsman squeezes singles and boundaries. Not agaisnt bazball or anything, I am against the idea that you only get entertained when batsman hit boundaries even in the test cricket. And this coming from a player whom the whole world admires😢

It's great to see that the old flat- track bully Matt Hayden has maintained his sense of humour; my own funny bone was tickled during the 2005 Ashes series, when I watched Hayden's often comical attempts to blunt a for once decent English bowling attack. England competed extremely well. We all should bow down to Stokes' captaincy. They lost by close margins of 106 runs, 434 runs, 5 wickets and by an innings and 63 runs. And don't forget they absolutely smashed India by 28 runs.

To just entertain,,you can't just throw bat all the time ,,,you have to smart what the situation required..1-2 player can play that way ,,not all the team👍👍

You can play very aggressive cricket, but you need a good bowling attack to bring things back for you when it all goes wrong, as it inevitably will sometimes, no matter how good you might be. England don't have that so when it all goes titsup the game is all but gone unless something amazing happens. The fact that England have been able to bowl sides out quite regularly under Stokes is down to good captaincy as much as anything else, the bowling itself can't be good when a 41-year-old is still an automatic pick.

I still can’t watch tests in India. If they cut down the number or advertising, which is between each over, it will at least make it more interesting

I don’t know what Haydos is on when he suggests that Mitch Marsh is playing like he just doesn’t care. I would describe Marsh as a batsman who instinctively looks to capitalise on anything within his scoring zone. If you bowl him a half volley or a half tracker he will play his shot. Haydos is speaking like Marsh has made a conscious decision to play with abandon. Sorry, I don’t see or perceive that at all. But I do see and perceive that with England. Picking players with a natural propensity for offence before defence is very different than being consciously encouraged to do so beyond that. The Poms have picked guys like Burns, Mahmood i think (the guy who opened in the last Ashes in Australia) and Sibley who are stodgers at best with a very limited scoring range. The batting lineup they have now is definitely more expansive in their scoring but they don’t need anyone in the background pushing them to be anything more than that. Just look at Stokes when he’s playing well, he takes his time to get his rhythm before expanding his range. I’ve said for a while now that Brendan McCullum appears to me that he’s simply trying to produce a side that plays in his own image. Whether this is true or not, ego driven or a true reflection of how he thinks about the game I don’t know. Just my observation and opinion from watching from the outside. From the Australian perspective, I would suggest that Travis Head is the one who gives the appearance that he plays with abandon. I was hoping that the tremendous skill and composure that he played with in the WC final was going to contribute to a further improvement in his overall game but unfortunately the evidence suggests not at this current stage.

I felt so bad for the English supporters. Having hope after winning the first match and then losing the next 4 matches with each loss getting worse.

England had a chance in the fourth test to square it when it was 2-1 to India but batting collapsed so wasn't as one sided as it looked in the end... Without bazball they wouldn't of got that close but India are very tough nut to crack at home as they've shown yet again...

I have no objection to the concept of playing entertaining cricket, but englands ego has shot through the roof lately. Like bazball is this infallible saviour of test cricket, and if we lose, it’s not OUR fault, either the other team is cheating (by following the rules and doing exactly what England would do if they had the chance) or the rules need changing, because our approach is perfect with no flaws whatsoever. Even in admitting defeat, it was “the other team was simply too good” as opposed to “we played really badly.” Which, I mean India are a better team, especially in India, but England royally muffed it too.

English cricketers lost their thinking ability in the entire series. When the need is to hold the wicket and not make runs - just to tire the opposition bowlers, they kept on aggressive approach and make some runs for sure-but lost quick wickets. In test cricket, you need not to continue just one approach- you have to change depending on situation. Against good bowlers and opposition, with your solo approach, the test matches will be over in 3 days and more often you will be on the losing side.
