I heard Kiko is only leaving for a short time to deal with family issues.

Dave was good enough to give Kiko time off for his family. Good on Dave for that. Kiko is DEFINITELY still in the band and your title was a bit of a cheap shot. Especially because we don't know what's happened. Kikos mom or dad could be sick or have died. God forbid a child of his is sick. As for this guitarist he plays the parts with easily with stage presence. I think kiko actually recommend him. In any case Dave's got winner here.... cheers.

Teemu is a fuckin' BEAST. There is a reason why he is Jari's unquestionable right hand in the vision that is WINTERSUN.

Every Megadeath guitarists make me thinking about what Marty was. He remains the reference. He remains the terms of coparison for every player

Kiko and Teemu are on another level. Both of these men seem to be pretty incredible on guitar. there are a lot of great guitar players out there these days and that is awesome. Dave's playing is quite excellent as well, even after the arm injury.🤘

Kiko being in Angra and Teemu being in Wintersun - Megadeth isn't an easy ticket but both of the previous bands have some seriously tough guitar sections and solos and demand just as much good playing. I wouldn't bet against either of these guys.

Mustaine would've been crazy to fire this guy, he is one the most technical guitar players in existence. He quit unfortunately.

For those who doesnt know - Teemu is a long-time Wintersun guitar player, who played on live shows and he has extreeeemely great skills. He was featured by Troy Grady on his channel too. Shred was right - he is not doing that much of live shows (since Wintersun is - well - basically fell apart), but he has his own band too.

Teemu is like Chris. Very accurate note per note. Just like a machine IMO.

my favorite bands are wintersun, children of bodom, ensiferum and norther. thanks to finland.

Teemu is a serious player, and it’s easily getting the job done. although this is a sad time for Kiko on a positive we get to see a new guitarist I personally hadn’t seen before and hopefully Kiko can rejoin the band once he settles his home life

Teemu is amazing player and he seems to be a great humble guy. I hope he finds new job when Kiko comes back.

Great theory breakdown! Teemu is a filthy good player and is a perfect fit.. Megadeth has had so many interesting guitar players over they years, Chris Broderick is definitely one of the most underrated out there, his two handed tapping sections were absolutely insane. Kiko was so great cause he brought that Brazilian Samba influence into Megadeth and played so well, he can also play pretty much anything. Friedman and Rust in Peace album is God Tier Level Metal. Love Megadeth.

Im glad you’re bringing up stage presence. Waaaay too many bands put a lot more stock on skill than their performance. People pay to see a SHOW. I didnt leave the house and pay good money to see a clinic. We need ENERGY! Kiko is a master at both. A rare combination these days.

Love Kiko! I think Kiko brings the most out of Dave. I saw them twice the first tour he had with the band about 6 months apart. At that second show you can see how Dave really stepped up his game compared to the first one and I contributed this all to Kiko!

Teemu has been one of my top favorite for years now. He's incredibly clean; I put him right next to Brandon Ellis.

Kiko is still my fav ngl... He's complete, can play any genre,multi instrumentalist,is a hell of a composer,technical af...i mean the dude's a virtuoso and also has stage presence...

My favorite is kiko, not just bc he is a musical genius....he seems like he would be a great person to know in real life. Just a nice, happy fun dude!! But super-close is MR Marty friedman-- & a very close 3rd is Chris Poland! Kiko still has the job. When Dave fires someone, he doesnt fuck around. So, no, kiko just has something serious back home with his family. He is from Brazil, he lives with his wife in Finland....clear across the globe. So when something happens, its not like its all jusy up the road from Daves house in Nashville. Its all good: at least as far as kikobstill being in the band. I do hope he & his family are all going to be ok.

I have to say Broderick was a lot like this guy. Super accurate and played it just like the album. Never missed a not in the whole set. My friend and I were blown away.

Kiko is pretty much fired from Megadeth, Dave is just waiting for the best moment to make it official. He's already dismissing Kiko's talent as a metal guitarrist and praising new guitarrist Teemu like the best one they ever had in the band, just like Dave always does.

Chris Poland will always be my all time favorite. Marty has a Dragonforce vibe to him, not that's a bad thing or anything, but if you listen to their discography with Marty Megadeth's gotten softer album after album. however, that does not discredit Marty for everything he's done for Megadeth on top of how immaculate his guitar playing is. imho, Poland's lead guitar works perfectly with Mustaine's rhythm guitar.

Afaik Kiko was the guy who recommended Teemu to Dave. To work as his replacement when he takes a break, though it still up in the air whether Kiko will return.

Greetings from Helsinki, Finland. Hometown of Wintersun. Thx for a good reaction video. Wintersun is many times complicated music than Megadeth. Megadeth is one of my favorites since mid 80's. 🤘

Whoever said he got fired needs to get fired for spreading false rumours. He had to sort some family business out. Even Mustaine released a statement about it. Kiko is still in the band

What can I say, I'm biased anyway, because Teemu has been my favorite guitarist for years. I'm happy for him that he has the opportunity to tour with Megadeth, he's doing a great job so far!👍 Regarding stage presence..., he has what it takes, come on!🤘

Saw Wintersun in Philadelphia for the Seasons tour. Teemu is phenomenal live.

Dave is very close to Kiko. He has said that not since Marty has he’s played with a guitarist he’s loved to play with more. However, I’ve never known Dave to let anyone off the hook when it comes to tour obligations. So either Dave’s old and sentimental, or he cut Kiko loose and is keeping it quiet so as to not lose ticket sales. Kiko has a rather large following online, and as far as Megadeth guitarists go, he’s well loved in the metal community. When Chris Broderick left, a lot of fans were upset, and maybe Dave learned from this and is keeping it quiet. More likely though? Kiko will be back.

Dave doesn't know music theory, I spoke with him for 40 minutes in my Limo about music. It was just him his wife and me..He said he didn't know the modes or scales by name. Regarding Kiko,I love his playing, but Dave is MegaDeath. There is no one I respect more in Metal. If anyone has a right to be a narcissist it is him. Dave got kicked out of what became the biggest band in metal. What did he do? He formed a better band, in my opinion. Few people can claim that feat, The only other person that did that was Ozzy. LONG LIVE brother Dave..He is the man..

Dave was oddly classy about Kiko's leaving. Kiko RECOMMENDED Teemu. The same way Chris Adler suggested Dirk to the drum throne. Dave listened to both suggestions and rolled with it. I'm just glad James LoMenzo is back on bass. I know, I know ... David Ellefson Jr is old school, but he keeps doing dumb stuff and he's one of the only people Dave Mustaine gave another chance. James sings way too pretty; Megadeth isn't White Lion, but man ... what an amazing bassist. I enjoyed his playing in Washington Is Next, and now that he's back, Megadeth is in good hands. Megadeth has only had two bassists, 3 if you count the guy from Testament that was hired to record for the 2022 album, but that was just a studio job. But he wasn't officially in the band like Jr and James. Everyone else that's ever been in Megadeth ... well ... Spinal Tap made a movie about that sort of thing, lol. JUST GOT TO THE PART where you said everyone has been replaced 69 times, lmao. So yeah ... Not on bass. Just Junior and James. Anyway back to the topic at hand: Kiko missed his kid's birth while on tour with Megadeth. I think he left to have another with his wife. With 2022's album doing so well, Kiko has enough money to live in a nice part of Brazil for a very long time. :D The fans love him, Dave was uncharacteristically nice about him leaving ... and Kiko later went on to say he was glad his suggestion of Teemu worked out, but ... for the sake of Megadeth fans, he had high hopes of Marty returning for good, which, of course, didn't happen. Kiko is a huge Marty fan. Has major respect for Marty's playing. Speaking of Marty, he did a song with Nita Strauss you should check out on her latest album.

I love all of the dudes that have shredded Deth. But I gotta say Broderick was my fav. It was so clean and Endgame was awesome.

Kiko took too many silly sidebar weird moves for me. He is a great player. Don't get me wrong. I saw Teemu and like him. He really played the styles of those who wrote before him. And Teemu apparently learned these song in a short short time. Some may say he is a bit robotic, but the show was better with Teemu. I want to hear the original solos. Teemu is the next guy for sure.

Guy sounds amazing! I’m 3 hours away from my first Megadeth concert. My 8 year old son’s first Megadeth concert and only the second concert he has been to. For some reason this kid has been driving my wife and I crazy for 2 years to see them. Idk if I’m more excited to see them or taking my son! Ahhh…daddy and son bonding! I love you little man!

A lot of people can outplay marty. The problem is they need to be the same age, it needs to be the 90s, you need the 2 daves and nick in the band and you need all the planets to line up to create that perfect lightning in a bottle.

Dave is a master musician and having a band for decades shows he knows what the hell he’s doing he’s made his fortune and the band is a monster it keeps consuming great players that says a lot after all these years and for Dave going into his sixties and still shredding says a lot Dave and all his band members are all legends in my book

Kiko and Teemu are both amazing guitar players and have quite lived up to maintaining Marty Friedman's guitar lines and solos compared to the previous ones before Kiko, I think they were a bit of a miss

Chris Poland is by far the best & most original guitarist & my fave album is So Far which Jeff Young does an amazing job as well. The rest may mega massvive amazing shredders but not a fan of the music.

Marty Friedman is the best Megadeth has had. Chris Poland is also very underrated, The Conjuring and Good Morning Black Friday are 2 of my favorite songs still.
