Good distinction between givers and takers. Sadly, I've found that some men will initially act like a giver, and once they think they've "got" you, reveal their taker side. Love it! Absolutely. And you have to be willing to accept and admit that you’re insecure. Most people blame the other person when they also dealt a hand in it. Although my ex was a narcissist - he was definitely a taker, but when I took a step back and came to terms with how I also contributed to the downfall of the relationship, it opened my eyes to so much more of these behaviours both internally and externally. Why do guys lose interest after you give them what they want too soon? After knowing a guy for two weeks, he started being flirty with me over the phone and I flirted back. Nothing further happened, just verbal flirting. I felt regret and told him I wanted to take things slow. He said he understood but continued to make advances at me. All I would tell him was “thank you” then switch the topic right away. After that, our conversations started to die and he then ghosted me. Prior to him ghosting me, he told me after two weeks he would be able to call me, but I heard no response from him for 3 months, Was he going through something at the time and isolated himself? Did he see me as easy and it made him run away? Was he only looking for one thing and when he got it, he left? Was he even looking for anything serious? Did he not like that I asked him to take things slow? Was he testing me by flirting with me to see if I’d say modest or jump on him right away? I also noticed that he only texts me when I’m not all about him or obsessed with him. But when I wait on his texts, he ghosts me. Definitely not waiting around to find out. I made the right decision. Once he started acting avoidant I let him continue in that energy without me.
