Basic operations in making Reconsituated Milk from milk powder.
Calculate quantity
-Mixing the powder with water - by agitation or circulation or mechanical means
-Melting fat, wherever required,
-Mixing with Reconstituted Milk
-Filtering, Heating and Homogenization.
THERE COULD BE DIFFERENT NEEDS FOR RECONSTITUTED MILK
-Small qty, say up to 10 Kgs, for Increasing SNF by a Small amount
-Quantity up to a bag of SMP, to increase SNF by a higher amount, like In
-- In Curd Manufacturing
-Large Quantity when Primarily Making Reconstituted Milk
Small Scale - TO INCREASE SNF UPTO 0.5%
-Take lukewarm water approx 5 -6 times the quantity of powder to be added in the appropriate can size.
-Water at about 45 deg C
-Plunger to mix.
-Add powder to water and mix vigorously with the plunger.
-Break any lumps formed.
-When completely dissolved, strain and add to the raw milk in the Dump tank/ BMC
Reconstitution of Milk at Medium Scale
-SNF can be increased by adding milk powder (SMP) directly to raw unchilled milk in the dump tank.
-Add SMP in small quantities to the milk in the dump tank.
-Circulate through Milk pump in the dump tank.
-Return of milk to dump tank to pass through strainer.
-Break the lumps with hand.
-If required, use plunger in the dump tank.
-Use inline filter also before pump.
-Transfer to BMC
