Everyone saying this game is not dead are delusional. Just because it's top selling on PS-Baby doesn't mean people are actually engaging and playing the game. Grow up dudes
@@ShayTheValiant compared to the amount of people that played it at launch versus its first debut at EVO this game is dead. I only watch these MK videos because they're funny. Again, top selling on CryBabyBox 1 and PlayDiaper 5 means nothing to the MK scene
When you say “dead” what do you mean exactly? Because, the games competitive scene is still very alive and active, and not to mention the official live active player counter website states the game has had over 1 million active players in the past 30 days alone.
WB is definetly behind some (if not all) of the WORST decisions in this game, and they see what other AAA companies do to their games. I'm just happy i'm still able to milk some fun out of MK1. Anyways, great video!
I like invasions but I prefer towers of time. Sick is the animality and the guest characters prefer stage fatalities and the friendship not the animality
I've been playing MK since the original arcade release. I'm old, and that's fine. I feel those who have jumped the MK ship over this game are the kind of players that need to have that reinvigorate in every iteration of a game. Those who remain are the ones who like to play MK because it's MK. I do feel that if the kameos were gone, then the gameplay may be a bit lacking, but I have fun regardless. I know my strengths, I know my weaknesses, and I have a blast making mk videos.
The day i slowed down on mk1 was the subzero season of invasions. I opened invasions and unlocked EVERYTHING for the season. All the palettes the Subzero skin (literally the only reason i played invasions), and i still had my gold from last season so i bought every item in the store. I was kinda annoyed frfr
@@mcspoonz yea that was the nail in the coffin for me. I tried to find the good in it so much that I jus rolled with the punches with the problems. This one felt rushed and came off as trying to give wat we want but not how we wanted. The kameo system, I feel, was their answer to ppl wanting Tag Kombat to return. It doesn't help that the kameo system has new ppl that only do assist. It didn't do anything for me. Most of the kameo characters would've just been better as regular characters
We need a very very hard mode for local online players that works as an AI that progressively gets better as it learns from the top players in the game.
People keep tossing around the phrase "MK1 is dead", but that's clearly not true since people are still playing it. What actually counts as a dead game?
The only thing that would make me come back would be MK9 Skins for the female characters, without toning them down like they did with Lee Mei and Nitara
Btw I think kameos are very good addition to the game they are like variants selectable skill sets but for everyone. Also it is increases creativity and combo possibilities.
People are trying to pick up for the game and say it's not dead when I end up playing against one person in kombat league, 5 times in a row. Make it make sense.
I bought it the first month that it got released, played the story mode, found out there wasn't anything else to do, felt disappointed and just now I'm playing again because of Homelander and the announcement of animalities returning
@@mcspoonz yes that is the true problem. It should have been finished by now. And i dont mean dlc or “content” but things like gamemodes. 1v1 could be a start
GAMEPLAY WISE: MKX was super fast-paced with 50/50 combo mixups.. Then people later said it was too over the top, broken. and wasn't balanced enough..... Mk11 was more balanced with lesser combo potential than mkx. Then people started to complain that it wasn't fun by wanting more freedom to do more combos and wanting it to be more fast-paced....... And with Mk1 being less strict with the combo potential and even adding back air combos in the mix that weren't present since Armageddon in the 3D era people are complaining about the kameo system even though they contribute to the raised combo potential in the game..... Moral of the story, Some. people simply just favor one mk game over another. and/or some people only ask for things as far as the gameplay is concerned and win majority of their matches in the beginning thinking what they can do will help them get over on others every single time online until they go up against players who uses the tools they asked for more efficiently than them. Then it's a problem for them and they complain without really giving much details to how and why the game is horrible to them all of a sudden when they swore up and down that it was the next best thing since sliced bread just a few days ago.... So the question is which one are you??? A. The one who since the launch of the current game. simply favors and prefers one Mk game over another no matter the W/L ratio. B. The one who enjoys the game until they start losing to players who take the time out to go into practice mode and lab. or.... C. Someone who really doesn't know wtf they want and will never truly come to an agreement on how a Mortal Kombat game should be made....
I am A. When I first start MK1 my win/loss is 0/51 but I still enjoyed every match. Games are meant to be fun people need to stop complaining and start enjoying it.
Instead of hating the player base and their opinions people need to band together and just demand like man give us a good fucking game with quality and quantity like fuck! Thats what I say and hope others will mouth the same cause this game is just so lackluster for what it would/could/needs to be. Come @ me

The DLC cost 50$. I bought the deluxe edition for 120$!! Do I have to explain more 😂💔 pack 2 characters I’m not interested in however I want to play also know how the story goes. NRS want to sell it in one piece (DLC Characters + The Story) 🤷🏻♂️
IMO MKX is my favorite game! It had some uniqueness! Variations were way better than kameo system! Yes kameo system has endless possibilities That's why developers have no idea how to balance them! I bought a PS5 just to play mk1 bought even the premium edition but after playing the game until peacemaker update i had enough and disappointed how badly MK1 is balanced! I literally sold my PS5 and switched back to mkx and mk11 on ps4
A dead game is a game nobody plays! Everyday, at every time we go online, there's many players playing MK1. Stop talking just about steam. Not all players play on steam! And if you take into account the number of entries for EVO, that would mean Grandblue has a bigger community? That's not the case! And finally, telling a game is bad because of invasion or the customization, is just stupid. We don't play a fighting game for stupud modes like Motor Kombat or Tekken ball. We don't play a fighting game for customization. If I want customization, then I'll go and play with a Barbie doll. We play a fighting game for vs modes! What we want, is great fighting system, good gameplay and great characters ! And we have all that in MK1 ! I prefer MKX and MK11, but that doesn't mean the game is bad or dead.
People hated the last few chapters of the story mode because of the time travel BS, and that's all the new expansion is. Can't get behind NRS ruining my favorite character either. They turned my boy into booger ball wakanda warrior
I'm playing right now on PS5. This critique is fair. I've beaten every season of Invasions because that's all we got. I feel MK11 was more complete and had more to offer for non competitive players. Kameos have grown on me. I do not like the double characters. For example, if we have playable Scorpion why have a Scorpion Kameo? The lore is too rich for that.

Ngl i think the story in M1K( im not calling it MK1) is dogshit. It jus wants to be MCU with this multiple timeline bullshit. Im a big lore guy, and trying to explain lore of Mortal Kombat is hard to do for people. MK1-MKA cool. But after that i dont even try. I use to play MK competitively, but its nice to jus chill out for a bit, maybe play some Puzzle Kom-, or Chess Kom-, Motor?, umm Konquest?. WTF THERE IS NOTHING TO DO IN M1K.
why noone talks about that the chaos reign pack isnt in the premium edition?? So u paid 95 euros for the premium edition and they want to spend another 50 to get the new dlc?xd
MK1 has taught me to never judge women for going back to abusive situations ever again MK1 isn't good for my soul but I keep going back to it cause I love MK it has its fun at EG rank only where it's not a plethora of Kung Lao carried, Ferra carried assists people actually have intricacy in their setups
Yeah, it’s actually not dead, so… I play the shit out of this game every day, as do many. These points are moot. It’s really gonna be okay. Still selling well, still plenty of console players (steam has always been “low”) so, yeah. Most people have moved on past the issues that it had 6-8 months ago. I suggest the rest should too, because it’s an amazing game 😉

No. There’s thousands playing the game online at any given moment and that’s what actually matters. While a game having big tournaments certainly helps its livelihood, it isn’t the sole dictator of the same.

Theres just not a lot to do after a while ...and invasions takes forever for a jew season to come up. The game is fun. Theres no krypt or test your luck ..or any other secondary kontent ..yeah. thats wack
