Why Most Fail at Becoming Army Rangers

The Military Show

165 candidates enter, two thirds of them will not complete the course. Swimming, rucking, running, obstacle courses - just a few of the things an aspiring army ranger will face the moment they step off the bus at the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program or RASP.
If students make it through the initial screening process, they are divided into platoons and given command structure. They must then pass weapons training, simulated tactical events, and worst of all, the mental strain of being constantly exhausted and demoralized.
What few students remain at the end of the course must command themselves through simulated battle scenarios with instructors filling the role of opposing forces. They hike through treacherous terrain in freezing temperatures, cross water using night vision goggles, and battle lack of sleep, encroaching hypothermia, and injuries to successfully defeat the instructors and make the long journey home.
The students forge an inseparable bond and as one final trial, they must critique each other. These critiques can make or break a student’s chances of graduating the course. A final test by the instructors to know these rangers can put their emotions aside and get the job done.

I dreaded Any phase or section that inclued water. Water events and the dreaded Rope climb are the worst for me. Tge rope is sneaky, because normally i can just muscle it up, but when you are dead tired proper foot technique is the only way you are everv getting up. I thought I was fùcked all the way up to event, then your training, muscle memory, and whatever adrenaline you have left kicks it.

@@williamrodriguezmswlcsw8119 i think the psyching oneself out before an event is why a lot of people have trouble with certain tests. It's probably by design. For, "reasons", i was doing a live agent chamber once. Live VX and Sarin. One guy in the group almost wasn't allowed to continue because his blood pressure spiked too high. Mine going in was 105/64. Medic asked if i knew what was ahead, and i did. So she kind snarkily goes "Ok, well we'll see how you are after." Check again, 104/65. "That didn't bother you at all did it?" No. But, by then NBC stuff had been over half my career. It was second nature. Most people aren't stressed out over what's known. Lol except in my case, i know i don't swim for shit. I think you're confusing RASP with the Ranger leadership course. RASP is strictly for the Army's 75th Ranger Regiment which is a SOF unit and a member of the USSOCOM. Whereas the Ranger leadership course is a program to train leadership. If you graduate the Ranger leadership course then you earn the Ranger "Tab" . If you graduate from RASP then you have earned the 75th Ranger Regiment's "Ranger Scroll". "Sua Sponte" ☀️⚡⭐

There is a difference between “RIP”(now known as RASP, and Ranger school. Ranger school is a leadership course. Completing the school does not make you a Ranger. It gives you the title “Ranger qualified.” RIP is Ranger Batt and once there you will be pressed to attend Ranger school. Just a little helpful tip.

And you can't stop until the job is done, maybe 10 or 11pm. Just enough time for water and Gatorade. Try not feeling demoralized when your arms are done and you still have a 250 lbs. leather sofa bed that still has to go up 4 flights of stairs, no elevator. Of course fast forward to my 40s, I have several herniated discs and I'm on psychotropic medication so I can function.

So the part of the video that shows desert like mountains is not RASP. You won’t see anyone wearing unit patches, skill badges or rank at RASP.

you mixed rasp and ranger school together, they’re different, one gets you into the regiment and scrolled, the other is a qualification anyone in the army can get but it doesn’t make you a ranger technically

I like to critique my teammates on the focus of the mission in league of legends . main mission destroy nexus. side mission protect/help teammates. 3rd mission work as a team to get dragon buffs as they're permanent. 4th mission work with your teammates to push the lanes and destroy everything in the path. unwants: do not be careless, do not chase the enemy if you can't catch them, do not deviate from the main mission, do not leave your teammate for dead like a coward, do not act like a bitch and refuse to help your team.
