If Moto GP had something similar to Drive to Survive... It can easily surpass F1 in viewership and also retain that because races are genuinely fun.

MotoGP was not boring, now is heading to be a 2 wheels F1, and boring also. Aero should be off, less power and no electronics; then again the rider will make the difference.

In Motogp the race literally isnt over until the winner crosses the finish line on the last lap. What i mean is that someone can beeading all race and just crash out of nowhere. You can never expect to win because one lapse in concentration and boom on the ground.

Another great video, I am a F1 and Moto GP fan, but in most bike races you have no idea who will win until the finishing line.

Watching motorcycle racing is more exciting but if I were to race myself I'd rather get in a car, which is way safer in comparison to bikes, on which mistakes typically lead to gravel, just as you mentioned at the end. I already had a couple of crashes on regular track days I've been to on my R6 and I am so done fixing it over and over again :/

Today, F1 had 4 over takes in Monaco. MotoGP had 5 lead changes, MM93 went from 14th on the grid to 3rd place. Pecco went from 1st to 3rd and ran down Martin 1.3sec lead and passed him in 6 laps. MotoGP is a lot more exciting.

some of the biggest reasons are in F1, they do their best at qualy, and have already decided during their 3 practices what their race pace will be. Also in F1 they want a tire to last the entire race so they can stay on track and maybe make up some positions. BUT this means they are constantly managing their tires to last 50-60 laps, which is not racing. Another thing about their race pace, is they decide what it is, and simply try to manage fuel, tires, and hold their position, so they can get their points in their standings for the end of the year. Its not boring, its actually a strategic slow asz bicucle race.

MotoGP is getting more and more boring too, becausse of the aero. If a rider doesn´t qualify for the first 5 or 6 places on the grid, probably he will never get to the front, unless someone crashes. WSBK and Moto3 still have real races.

Car content is boring. Mainly because not many of us mere mortals can afford cars and trackdays. Bike content was excellent as this is something anyone of us can do in real life.

MotoGP is unfortunately becoming more like F1 everyday, with excessively reliance on electronics and aero, sure the wings are smaller but I can definitely see change in the riding style which is becoming more processional. It is still very good racing but a bit worrying with the direction it's going. WSBK have better racing at the moment, more affordable and more manufacturers who can equally fight for podiums. Also more overtaking doesn't equate to more excitement. It's the car or bike that can follow each other closely and race side by side that make racing exciting. You can have a race with 1000 DRS overtakes, it will not make F1 more exciting.

I've always been a fan of both and tbh in 2018 and 2019 F1 was way more fun than MotoGP. And if we are serious World Superbike is way more fun than both at the moment. More interesting seasons will come at some point, it's part of the sport

If i could change 1 thing about F1, it would be to no longer have solid surface outside of the track limit. Grass outside of the track, will make missing a corner costly.

bikes also got more complex dynamics, more involvement of the driver, bigger risk etc. thus require more physical and mental skill and thus operates on higher margins of errors. Just think about the tires - they are made to lean. That are different cornering forces than a car relies on ,not to forget sometimes only one tire is in touch with the ground changing the whole dynamics again. It is a totally different game - a lot can go wrong.

as a Yamaha R6 rider my self, i dont think MotoGP is better, cuz in MotoGP its 80% rider 20% mashine tech, in Formula 1 its its 20% driver 80% mashine tech. i look at both for different reasons. s yoou cannot compare them. compare F1 with Indy you can, and yes IndyCar SUCKS..

On the technical side, this video is perfect. But there is one thing i always tell people that somehow no one really recognizes. Its a thing you feel as a motorcycle rider. Motogp or motorcycles in general are much more "dynamic" or "aesthetic". Like with the bike, cornering is some kind of flow, the rider doesnt have to fight the corner, the rider goes with the flow. There is no lateral g force (yeah technically there is but you dont experience it as lateral, it just presses you into the bike). Its just a beauty of racing, seeing all the competitors flowing through the track as a river. On the other hand, car racing is just not aesthetic. Especially formula one where drifts and sideways movements are really rare. Its basically just a line of cars, fighting the lateral g forces on rails. Obviously its also some kind of art to drive as perfect as the f1 drivers do. But its just not aesthetically pleasing.

I love both, I can comfortably enjoy MotoGP if F1 feels boring and vice versa.

Basic history exposes that sports originated from the boredom of men after the danger of wars. This applies to motorsports as it was a dangerous past time during the past world wars. Fitting, the more dangerous 2 wheel racing is more in line with the the heritage and that is what entertains us. Realistically, there really is no need to speed as speeding is dangerous and requires good engineering to execute. Psychologically, that implies that we men are entertained in racing as we see different teams experiment with different innovations and see the drivers/riders perform life threatening racing just for the heck of winning. That said,the current 4 wheel racing is so advanced, is so safe, is so fast, and is so evenly restricted that it lost its roots as being a danger-to-adrenaline entertainment. Add that teams have barely anything creative "mods" to set them apart and F1 has thus become a boring feat of regulated engineering. People forget that all sports has two factors - 1 pushing the participants to human limits and 2 ensuring the paying watchers are entertained.

Well, I think it's a few things why MotoGP is better than F1 1: Rossi was likeable than Schumacher was. This might be biased but I started watching MotoGP religiously because of Rossi. 2: MotoGP is shorter and creates a lot of hype 3: Sounds weird, the crashes are so random, you are on the edge of the seat Currently, however, with Yamaha & Honda struggling and the dominance of Ducati, it's similar to RB, the results are predictable... To make F1 exciting, we just need a competitive grid championship kinda like F2 is... So, Pirelli can start bringing extreme ranges for the tires to spice up the strategy for example hards and super softs for this weekends Australian F1

Yup, F1 is boring. I don't watch it anymore. I watched it from 1967 to 2005. They don't have the balls to do what they need to do to make it more exciting. Alberto is right. Smaller cars, less aero , less effective brakes. In other words.... INDYCAR! and that's why we see OVERTAKING in INDYCAR! The solution is simple. We all turn off our tv's when F1 is on, and we turn them on when Indycar is on. Eventually the dipsh..ts spending all the money in F1 will get it! The big issue now is that they're turning F1 into Reality TV... and as we all know, only morons watch reality tv... but there are a lot of morons in the world at the moment. We can't win. Just watch Indycar and have fun!

Too many rules in F-1 under the guise of "Safety" have Frankenstein the cars. The cars became as long as city buses, and tracks became too narrow as well. Don't worry, they are doing the same B-rainless S-tupidity to the bikes soon for 2027.

Imo this whole video could be resumed by the last minute. Too much tech, too much assistance. Even for your everyday car, when you wanna have fun with it, it's much better in manual. fun != speed. What you enjoy, and when you wanna see, it's not someone going 300km/h in a a tight corner, it's someone going as fast as what is possible with the vehicle in that corner. To put it a better way, in the nurb, nobody cares about being takeover by a porsche gt3. If I'm being passed or just chased by a stock c1 in the other hand, well, I'm impressed. Kind of why I always advocated for a GT3 with 340hp max, manual and no abs/esp race. Would be much more entertaining. Especially if we could have enough cameras inside the cabin to appreciate the leg work of the driver.

Also F1 cars are lame. For it to reach that level it had to shed everything off to the point where the only semblance it has to a road car are the 4 wheels! MotoGP bikes don't have to do that to reach the pinnacle. They're the exact same size and shape as road bikes. In fact if you put lights on a GP bike people would mistake it for a road bike!

Have been watching F1 and Moto GP since 86. Or I should say HAD been watching because I've not for a few years, ain't worth it no more. Which one is better is a moot point because they are now both shite. OK, so F1 is worse because besides being boring, the driving standards have gone down the drain with the acquiring of the commercial rights by an Amercian company. Max got pampered and got away with murder for him to become the new shining star and make them millions, it was horrible to watch how he blocked and simply outbraked himself pushing other drivers wide to pass and they did nothing about it. Single Manufacturers dominate in Moto GP just as they do in F1, no body was moaning when Marc Marques had the fastest bike for years and couldn't be beaten, before that Rossi , now it's Ducati.....for me Moto GP has less drama and razzmatazz and the races are much shorter, they're like the sprint races in F1

But i cant watch any onroad racing just because its boring for me for the same reason you prefer them over F1 - too many overtakes. if it`s that easy - it doesnt value anything. And to be fair i prefer watching all day long F1 races from period till DRS was implemented. cause you knew that that one damn overtake during the whole race was was made on 100% skill:) It`s not some flame coment not even close, just interesting fact that different people value different thing. i drove bike just a bit and it`s waaaaay more fun than driving a car and i`d love to try some day motobike racing i belive it is fun as hell. Being a crazy fan of both- I'd say F1 is like a fine artist creating a painting in his room whereas MotoGP is a Graffiti writer doing his usual stuff hanging off a harness from the top floor of a skyscraper. The only 4 wheeled competition that comes close to MotoGP is probably WRC.

f1 more of a endurance+focus race then agility+creativity It's like every single one of thy drivers are following the same style of riding.. Remind me of highschool... No creative freedom, you just need to follow whay thy system pave in front of you to score thy win/ high marks. But we all know it all made to be that way, considering thy fact that F1 is a business and in it the team and builders are as crucial as the drivers themselves. Tho we still have same competitiveness among make honda, yamaha etc. its no where near the legacy of f1 For me personnel f1 is more interesting in the aspect of innovations, i.e pushing the boundary of what's possible with lap time and technological aids and science behind it all. Modern day racing is boring. We don't enjoy it much but you need to understand that racing is a playground to develop a technology that's why they started racing each other . I guess the should remove aero from Moto GP and drs from f1 . There should be a budget cap for all teams

Motor racing is great, it is about who is the better driver on the day, Rally. not a gathering of idiots trying to stop or change something they know nothing about, but racing on roads that are not designed to be driven fast on (and some that are) like the WRC... now that is real motorsport. but formula 1... that is about who can cheat the quietest. not about the driver! Formula ! is so tech driven that there is nothing to see, no reason to be hoping any particular driver will shine on the day. no reason for a fan base! what is the point? Moto GP however, is about the rider, as is Moto cross. touring cars, and to some racing across the desert where there are no roads, just blind jumps that can Destroy a vehicle if they go just that wee bit too fast, or lift off the throttle when they need the rotational mass of the tyres to rotate the vehicle the other way! there is no way a Formula 1 driver could get on a superbike and do the same sort of lap time, but a superbike rider could definitely do similar lap times in an F1 car

DRS destroyed F1. Fake, straight line overtakes are not interesting. Id rather bide my time and wait for a real overtake.

As a fan of both, objectively speaking: MotoGP has way better action, but not enough media coverage or the fanbase is just not as hyperactive as F1's and no even as much Socials reach. There's something wrong and I can't put a correct diagnosis on it.

I don't race cars or motos. But I do like to push my car to the limits and same with my bicycles. I learned the hard way growing up biking about always making sure u slow down enough. I got multiple scars from fucking up on the breaks either to much or not slowing down enough. 1 in particular from bombing a hill and thinking I could take a hard left going 50mph on a bike😂. My front tire said nice try buddy and sent me hard into the curb.

moto gp used to have the tyres sorted to perfection, down to the last lap infamous battles, not watched since marquez prime days so maybe has changed. F1 is all about the PU or now aero dominated formula. and they run on rubbish tracks where already difficult overtaking is impossible, not sure what they expect to happen 😅

Is F1 seeing less overtakes because it's an open wheel class? I guess the potential for critical damage when hitting an opponent is much larger than with closed wheel specs or motorcycles. So pushing your car when there's a tiny gap is a much higher risk maneuver than with other classes of vehicles. Is this something that has influence?

I haven´t watched F1 in years but I love GT3 and Cup racing. Absolutely understand, that it is not possible to compare F1 to GT3 or MotoGP to GT3/Cup racing. But one of the main reasons GT3 is so much more entertaining and you have way more overtakes in my opinion is, that it is not possible to get better technology by investing more money, but you have to buy a car and make it work for you and your team. And those cars can take a little beating. Leaning on each other, bumping the rear a bit to gain an advantage. And most important, every manufacturer has a completely different concept. A 911 racing an M4 racing a Hurracan. In the DTM, the highest level of GT3 racing on the globe, place 1 to 20 qualify within 1 second, sometimes even less. And the crazy thing about that is, one day one driver wins, the next he is dead last. Absolutely love it. Or watch Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, or BMW M2 Cup. Everyone has the same car and the best driver wins.

Hello Naska, Thanks for a great video. Can you also explain why the slipsteam does not seem to work most of the times? I barelly see it working in F1, even if the cars have almost the same exit. This happens sometimes on MotoGP but only if the driver behind is very close. And why is it so easy in Moto3? Seems couterintuitive. When you are cicling you feel the sleepsteam going 20km/h, also when you 40km/h you feel it twice as much, from farther away: logically the higher the speed the easier and the stronger the slipstream is, but it does not seem to be true. Also if the downforce is harmful in MotoGP, then why Marqez tries to follow Bagnaia in Qalifying? Thanks.

This is why V8 Supercars in Australia is so competitive. Clutching and out-braking your opponent is completely possible and often done. This is why I enjoy it a lot more than F1 as a car racing series.
