Man I'll tell y'all what, since my recent time first learning simple looping, I've noticed my capture anxiety has gone down on audio workstations such as Garageband. Looping is just such an accessible system of capture, so a frequency of recording attempt is had.
Hey Adam thanks for this video, loved this piece of equipment and you’re demonstrating how you utilize its features, it sounds phenomenal! I’m primarily a metal guitarist for the most part but I’ve really been drawn to ambient overtones this past year and really trying to blend them together in a non-forced way. You might be surprised how well ambient and metal can go together! I too have a metal background and still listen to a lot of heavier music, it's just no longer the vocabulary I use when I play. Bands like Tesseract, Periphery, and Vildhjarta have lots of ambient components. You might find some inspiration in there.

Sounds like I’m a lot like you actually in that what I listen to and what comes out of me when I play guitar don’t really sound the same lol. I guess our influences filter through us in some capacity even if it’s not immediately noticeable perhaps. Love your content Adam!
Good question! Looping with other musicians can be tricky, but there are options. A device like this is capable of quantizing to a given tempo, so if your band is playing on a click, it could be pretty easy and on the fly. You could also use midi to trigger when parts get looped, started, or stopped. When I have done looping with a band, it has typically been pads / drones that can free flow underneath everything.
