Twitter owner Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg have agreed to a cage match. The tech industry has seen companies fighting over both users, dollars and ideologies-this fight is no different. In 2022, Twitter reported an estimated 238 million daily active users while Meta’s Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have 3 billion daily active users and a bigger ad business.
A physical fight might be a first but WSJ’s Joanna Stern breaks down-with the help of action figures-why this tech brawl is actually like past Silicon Valley beefs.

This physical fighting event absolutely needs to happen! It would probably be one of the most entertaining and talked about events in history. And actually both billionaires stand to make hundreds of millions of dollars in ad revenue if they did it. Who wouldn’t love to see two pampered, spoiled, billionaires pummel each other. It would be bigger than the Super Bowl. For the first time in history the tables would be turned so now the poor can watch the Rich fight. The concept is golden. 😆

@@romanvice It's actually not silly at all, I'm not strictly commenting on their wealth but their actions in the media and I'm sure many people would agree that sometimes these billionaires act very immature. And not everything they do inherently provides value to us all, so that's a very blanket statement. Think more critically about the world around you and don't just rush to defend people who you really don't know based off a playful, innocent comment on a random youtube video.

Yeah these companies have become far too big and monopolistic. By the very nature of social networks, with each user that join a the network increases its utility exponentially. So when you have pretty much all the users in your platform it becomes extremely dificult for others to compete as they cannot provide that immense value that has essentially been captured. Users don't have much choice either, because if they leave they lose their connections in the network. So... yeah. Something should be done, maybe through increasing the interoperability so that other providers can craft their own experiences and compete while people get greater choice without losing their connections.

This is one PPV fight I’d actually pay to see. I think Musk and Zuck would both put in more effort than Jake Paul and some other UFC fighter just pretending to fight and milking the whole event for a paycheck. Neither Musk or Zuck needs or cares about the money.
