God bless Martha for her bravery! A sure sign of a cult is not allowing questions to be researched. Paul said if anyone brings another Gospel, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8-9. Salvation is offered as a free gift. When you add works to it, it becomes another gospel. Perfect Righteousness is imputed when you believe. You can’t be better than having perfect righteousness imputed to your account. We serve God from the motive of appreciation, not to be more acceptable to God.

Last year I was reading in the news that 3 or 4 Amish brothers sexually abused their sister and she got pregnant of one of them. I never expect that Amish would do that. I feel deeply sorry for that girl.

A lot of truth! But not necessarily for all communities or even churches in a community. There are some Amish in northern Indiana that have no problem if you decide to go to a non Amish church in-between church Sundays and there are also Amish that don't shun when a member leaves the Amish as long as they go to another Christian church. There are quite a few different types or sects of Amish and some will not have communion with each other because of difference in opinion on theological issues. It seems to me the stricter a church or community is the less they rely on faith and the more issues they have. Prayers for you in your journey in Christ!😇

After rededicating my life to Christ and being rebaptized, God freed me from an addiction, never been the same since. “Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

@@EncourageFaith After hearing her, I realize now that there are different sects. From what I've seen and heard in the past, I would think that many of them do believe in Jesus. She obviously was speaking about her family and I'm not sure what sect they come from. Anyhow, it was interesting to hear her story.

Hi, thanks for watching and responding to my question. Yes, each church is going to be slightly different. If the teaching includes requirements to be Amish to be saved that's not what the Bible teaches which means it's not correct. I think the take away is if your belief includes anything other than faith in Jesus to be saved (i.e. any kind of works, dress, belonging to a certain group, baptism, etc.) then it's not biblical. The bible teaches it's faith alone in Jesus alone is what restores our relationship with God. Thanks again!

Know exactly what she’s talking about !! Very confusing when growing up and nobody would really give you the answer that ur waiting for that really makes the match except “ we have to keep what our forefathers lefted for us” well that’s not what the answer is but some Amish actually don’t understand it either and don’t even try to reach for the answers cuz afraid of getting banned! Which they believe not a good chance to get to heaven🥺🥺😢😭and when it gets bad enough they tell u the devil is after you and put you in a mental hospital for plain communities for weeks or maybe sometimes months, cuz you’re more not worrying what the church does this and that and more reading the “”English”” bible instead of German and makes more sense 🥲

Hi Joel, so did I at first. My understanding is they rely on works for salvation. Not completely trusting in Jesus' atoning work on the cross alone. Hence all the odd rules to be right with God (that vary by community).

Most people think the Amish are Christians, and they will tell you that they are. But they do not follow the teachings of the Bible, so I don't feel comfortable calling them Christians.
