Tom your 110% accurate! I ask you a 11/2 ago which you would recommen for my first pellet grill! You recommend Z grill. I bought a 600D3E for $370 @Z grill. So we'll made and cooks perfectly! My neighbors can't believe because they all have the $900 plus grills! Thank you again Tom for your recommendation! Love you man!
I love my Weber pellet grill I know they got bad rap. Got 1/2 off through Amazon and it works great. Reverse sear is so simple on it. long cooks no problems, mn winters no problems, using other pellets no problems.
No argument here. If there was one feature that sells me on a grill in this price range is the ability to cook on the top rack with a pan underneath to catch the drippings. That simplifies the clean up between cooks.
Got an Even Embers 199.99 pellet grill. Upon inspection it's a traeger knockoff. Extremely similar only less gadgetry. No wifi? Whatever. It cooks meat exactly like a traeger that costs 4 times as much.
My point of reference is not that large but I love my Weber SmokeFire. Had it over a year now and done 16 hour cooks to quick burger/hotdog cooks on high heat. It's easy to maintain, puts out great food, and it shines on reverse sears. Smoked burgers or steaks with a 600+ degree sear at the end, just meat sweat heaven I tell ya. Keep it level, keep the burn pot clear, take the finger guard out to prevent pellet bridging and it will produce some killer Q.
Real nice, I’ve never had a pellet grill. I did 2 briskets today, post oak. Yum, it’s the grill season. Of course I cook out side all heat. Great grill
I only have one pellet grill, pit boss 1150. Got it as a gift 2 years ago and it has performed flawlessly. Looking very closely at their ultimate griddle. My every day cooker is still the weber kettle though.....dont see that changing, lol
Love your video's and this does look like a great grill. For me I am interested in the smaller grills, just cooking for two here. Now depending on the model, even though this one did have a Sear/Direct Flame, most Z-Grill's do not seem to have this or a Pellet dump. You know, to change the pellet out for another flavor. :(
Thanks for this video. I know next to nothing about grilling. I had no luck with charcoal and have had two Weber gas grills. The Weber is nice, but I like to get the smokey flavor which is very difficult to do with a gas grill. I've tried all kinds of methods and none really works very well. Often the chips wrapped in foil start on fire or the flame it too low or too hot. I've never had a pellet grill, but maybe that would be the answer. The RecTec Bullseye looked interesting, but it had no place for the grease to drain which I think would be a problem. It sounds like the Z-Grill would be better. Thanks again for the information.
I bought the Zgrills cruiser 200a based off your recommendation. Now I want this one. Between my love for vacuums and grills, I’m going to need a larger house before too long! You are the best Tom. I’m still trying to figure out how to get one of your stickers. The only social media I’m on is RU-vid and Instagram. Let me know what we can work out. Thanks again!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Tom double check the description page. I can’t find your email. I’m not sure if it’s not showing because I’m looking at this on a iPhone. I have to get one of you stickers to put on my new Zgrill. You are the reason will now own 2 Zgrills!
Great video Tom. I really enjoy your channel. What is your favorite pellet? Flavor or Blend? Maybe a future video about what pellets to use with different proteins is in the works?
I respect and enjoy your channel and knowledge. Thank you for sharing this with us. I am a fan of the Weber Traveler grill, but also a fan of the Z Grills you mention. Based on what I have seen of your videos I am partial to the Z Grills 600 and 700 series. I am looking for a PID Z Grill pellet grill that will handle steaks, hamburgers, brisket, ribs, etc. Of the 600 and 700 series, which would you recommend. Thank you.
I’ve been waiting on this video Tom the Z-grill 600 is affordable, simplistic design is what I like. Didn’t you mention in another video about the fire pot location also helped with the auger not jamming up ?
Hey Brother Tom! Which cooking pellet brands do you like? I’m considering purchasing a Z Grill and was wondering which ones holds up in these hot and humid Alabama summer months.

I can't tell you my favorite pellet grill because I've only owned one and it was garbage. It was a rec tec bfg and it was a total piece of garbage. The welds on the grates broke ,the replacement grates were not even square!!!! Heat diffuser warped after 2 cooks ,unreal. Sorry rec tec fan boys ,I have the pictures to back it all up. Soured me on pellet grills so bad ,now I have a Meadow Creek BX 50 built by the Amish in Pennsylvania. I keep temps steady with a Fireboard. No more playing around for me ! Ok rant over lol
I do watch the Tom Horsmen channel at RU-vid.com...and Just Once Id LOVE to see one of those Classic Webers being highlighted instead of some grill you have to plug in.... over and over and over again,,,,
