Bro I shed I tear just listening to you talk about it. I wish I was as good a dad as you. I'm doing better, my oldest just started band this year and when she heard the school's jazz band perform she got hyped about it and wants to make it next year. Doing all I can to keep her motivated to practice and work hard on it.

This is an example of children being a sponge to their parents. We have to be careful what we do and say around them sometimes. For him to have listened and applied what you have taught him positively has to be such a proud moment! Watching this brought a tear to my eye also! You have a great family!

He has a lot of fire in him and the drums is a way to contain it. As I watch this young man I see where he's ready to explode. he needs to remember "Flower" at all times, not just solos. He's gonna be unstoppable the moment he controls that fire and not let it control him. But that come with age, he's young and wants to have fun. My daughter is 2 and loves to hand drum, I think it's time I buy her one. Maybe she'll be as good as him one day. Finger's crossed. Flower, what an awesome concept. Dang i started drum season 2 years ago and I try to impress my parents but you know I really enjoy seeing this young and very talented boy on the drums

that is kids for you. they will surprise you when you think they weren't listening and pull your words back out weeks later. our daughter plays the drums but we don't play any instruments so all we can say is did you practice and have to ask her instructor if she is playing his assignment correctly. He will tell us yes i can tell she practiced this week or no she didn't practice as much as she should. We love watching your talented family.

Wow.What a wonderful story. It reminds me of my childhood in a sense. I reincarnated in this life with drum skills from another life time. But, my mother and father didn't want another black musician in the world. They wanted me to be a Minister, Lawyer or Doctor. The doctor part was intriguing to me. The Minister was also, but, not a Christian one. I am now a Kamitic Priest. But, also a musician. My Mother wouldn't listen to my please to get me drums until I was 15 years old. She got them finally with deep apprehension. I assembled the drum got on them and play James Brown Cold sweat. Y Mother cried. I said that to say this. You 2 shared times many Lifetimes together. And you Godman are Wonderful father. We call that HERU. with Guidance of Tehuti and Auset. A Leader, Wise and nurturing Father. You 2 are Blessed to be especially in the African community a example of how to be Family and the roles played. What Beautiful, wonderful story. Can't wait to see you both in concert. Its all ways/always amazing when our Heavenly Father opens our heart and unites ours with His. To feel the depth and magnitude of joy, pride and love is quite overwhelming. A bonus as a parent is when the seed of our ?? life, action, words actually bear fruit. Joyously humbling. Its heartbreaking - yes the enlarging of our heart to live and love more! Truly, "only God"! I can relate to this my son and would jam a lot me on bass and him on keys awesome to see this.

Great job encouraging him and helping him develop as a young musician. I am on a similar path with my son, who has also played since he was about 2. My son goes through phases of interest in playing, but when he is "in drum phase" he is focused. He is also eyeing the keys so that will be another instrument for him. Lucky for him, I grew up playing multiple instruments so I understand the want to be fluid playing different instruments. Keep up the great work! We are raising the men and musicians of tomorrow.
