Why Namor Is As STRONG As The Hulk Explained | Wakanda Forever 

Like all characters, Namor is as strong as the writers need him to be at any given time.

This actor, Tenoch Huerta, is one of the best actors I have seen in a long time. I love Aquaman, but Namor terrified me at times. Acting and writing was superb in this movie.

The Mesoamerican theme of the Talokan "Atlantean" empire looks so rad!! I love it.

Namor's fought(and bested) some of Marvel's strongest & powerhouses. He's fought Thor, Surfer, Hercules, Sentry, Blue Marvel, Red Hulk,The Thing, Black Bolt, She-Hulk, & Savage Hulk on several occasions; two of those knocking him out w/one shot. Originally he was listed at 70-90 tons (which was incorrect due to him being seen lifting objects much heavier). He's currently listed as above 100 tons. Underwater, his strength level doesn't have a limit

That was my main take away from this movie. Namor looked like he was the most physically powerful character in the mcu with his speed and power .

I wonder if they will just say that Talocan is what historians thought was Atlantis. Just as Klaw stated people were looking for El Dorado when it turned out to be Wakanda? Would be a nice nod to the comics.

He's probably a tier below Thor and Hulk in strength. The MCU has a way of giving us comparable visual representations of each character's strength (E.G. Cap stopping Bucky from escaping via helicopter and Spidey stopping a ship from being torn in half ... similar visuals which show that Spidey is a tier above Cap in terms of strength). Similarly, Namor rips through fighter jets with a spear that can cut essentially anything while Thor effortlessly destroys a gigantic mothership in Infinity War (he does several crazy things in that movie). I'd say Thor is a tier above Namor in terms of strength, but he's one of the strongest characters around so Namor is still a powerhouse in his own right.

In the comics, Namor was killed by Hyperion who decapitated him with his eye beams. Namor is not on par with Thor. No even close.

It all depends on what the writer wants at the time.

Hope they do the Hulk justice when they do World War Hulk .

I always liked it need submarin I always liked him going back I'm 57 years old so going way back when I was an elementary I always like them I had some of it comic books just on him alone so I would love to see him go against Thor have a battle with the Hulk and it would be very interesting how they show his strength and his ability in the up and coming wakanda forever can't wait to see it 👍🏿

This is the problem with superheroes. Every writer wants to make their hero the smartest and strongest even when the height of strength and intelligence has already been reached.

Namor is class 100 strength in the water according to the 1983 Marvel Universe Handbook. He has always been a physical match for The Hulk whom he has defeated underwater. Namor has gone blow to blow with Thor and Hercules. He has wins and losses just like any other hero. Namor is a powerhouse.

Namor goes toe to toe with characters like the Hulk, Thing, Thor etc… so, super powerful but not the strongest. Definitely more then a match for anyone in Wakanda.

As there have been differences between the past Marvel comic book characters & movies, it'll be interesting to see the similarities between Namor & the Submarinor.

Now I remember, they were called "the Invaders" Namur, cap n bucky two human torches, and many more. Union Jack. It was during ww2. They fought Red Skull and the organization that would later be Hydra. Yea, "the Invaders" cap and Namor would power struggle to be the leader.

Yes, Namor has same strength as Thor and the Thing, on land. He is stronger than both in the water.

Namor is very tough, but definitely not in Thor's class. He's had good showings against the Hulk and the Thing, held his own for a while against Hercules, but he's been owned by Thor when they fought in comics. He also got destroyed by Hyperion and the Sentry, and was ko'd by Wonder Man. These are top of the food chain heavyweights he's fought and won and lost too, but he's no Thor!

I wouldn’t say Namor is Omega level. Does he have moments in the comics that aren’t consistent? Yes. Don’t get me wrong he’s tough. Maybe more Alpha level for now but has potential for Omega level.

Correction Sentry handed Namor his can. I have that issue it took place during Norman Osborne Dark Reign. Dark Avengers/Dark Xmen.

The only way someone may not now this is if they’re new comers to Marvel comics. Namor “The Savage Submariner” has always been bad ass and was always able to take on Hulk, The Thing, Thor etc. since the Silver age of Marvel comics.

Underwater 💦 Namor is virtually undefeatable!! Out of 🌊 he can slug It Out with the best of them! Thor & Sentry however, are beings who don't need to breathe underwater 💦 also Sentry can dehydrate Namor a LOT easier than Shuri did in Black Panther. Namor has feats putting him on par with the heavy hitters...he has won more than he has lost to Hulk and others of that level....I have collected comics for 34 years...the writers decide what happens but Namor is up there regardless

I know you guys are just trying to get content out there and a conversation going but you really can't quote stuff in the comics as proof of his durability the MCU and the comics are vastly different and it's highly unlikely that they never really look at the source material that closely. That being said if you're going to start quoting Feats from the comics you need to go all the way and look at Thor and the Incredible Hulk to realize that he would have no chance he is not in their league if they decide to cut loose but I understand you have a channel to run and you got to put this stuff out

Namor is by no means as strong as Hulk. Hulk, by definition (the madder he gets the stronger he gets), has no upper limit to his strength. Thor unleashed is on par with Hulk (see Banner of War), Namor is not.

the next time we see Namor am sure he will be wearing a suit instead of his shorts.

Strength does not always mean Power. He maybe as Strong as Thor who did not only held his own against a couple of Infinity Stones and a Neutron Star, Thor still has a massive arsenal of powerful energy beams and weather advantages than Namor does.

Sadly after MARVEL decided to make THE HULK WEAK I will NEVER ever have any respect for that character and he certainly is the NOT the standard baseline going forward as what a strong character should be or measure up to. Blame Marvel for that

What I don't understand is why he look more like an Aztec warrior than an attlanian. The comics never had Namor wear Aztec head dress or anything that resembled that group of people. Sometimes directors have their own interpretation of what a hero looks like and it just ruins the characters. I haven seen the movie so I say whether it works or doesn't. I just know it didn't get that much attention to other marvel movies.

Yeah gods ..... I remember the original comics from when I was young. He had one epic battle with Iron Man, who's power was running down, but eventually tricked Namor to throw him towards an area with a large powerful safety door which he closed and immediately started charging for round 2. Namor tried to knock the door down but was losing his strength cause he'd been out of the water for so long. I liked that nothing was resolved about who was more powerful ... and also the weaknesses that characters had then - including Thor who could not be separated from his hammer for long before he reverted to his human form. Anything like that is just so glib now. I also thought it made sense that Namor was whiter than white ... he lived in the ocean depths ... lack of sunlight ... obvious really ... so the diversity grates on me. Not that it matters - I loved some of the superhero offerings X-men 2 ... the Avengers .... so glad I saw them on the big screen along with LOTR before my time is up. Most of the newer stuff seems like trash to be honest - I'm ready for the genre to move on - jeez I enjoy an old western more than most of the superhero stuff they put out now - LOL

The older Asgardians get, the stronger, they get! Thor in this current MCU with the Oden force isn't close as powerful as he will be when he is half the age of Oden. Remember, Thor was younger than Hela in this MCU.

Given that Marvel has a habit of watering down the abilities & power of some of their characters, I was surprised they choose to go in the other director with Namor.

When people think of Marvel comics, believe me no one thinks The Sentry. This character isn't even on the same level of noteriety as the most famous of tge Marvel Comics Universe. The Sentry is a second rate character that is pushed into the limelight, if not forced to be liked, like Korean government pushing KPOP groups.

The material is there for you to read yourself, twice hulk has admitted namor was his equal in strength in to different battles...Hercules also admitted namor was indeed a worthy opponent....with thor however , strength wise there equal but blows from thors hammer seems to really hurt namor....and for them in combat the hammer was always the advantage... The thing , wolverine, the rhino etc....I've seen go down from one clean punch, Ironman also gives namor a run for his money with decent strength and technical skills

Here's hoping they have the foresight and wherewithal to NEVER introduce Robert Reynolds' Sentry into the MCU. He is so ridiculously OP, and that is before we even consider the malicious, multiversal threat that he is always doing his absolute best to keep at bay within himself- The Void. They would either have to nerf the shit out if him or make him an absolute god and neither is very entertaining on the screen, tbh.

Depends on who is writing. Comic Thor can open up wormholes and send Namor to space. Thor can also fight underwater. He doesn't breathe like a human. The Hulk has defeated Namor and lost to him as well. Take your pick.

You mean as strong as the Hulk at the Hulk's calmest state which is 100 tons. The Hulk has no strength limit. The angrier he gets the stronger he gets, the faster he gets, the faster his healing factor gets. One of the greatest feats of the Hulk in the comics he lift a 150 BILLION TON MOUNTAIN. YEAH I SAID BILLION!! LOOK IT UP. So when you say just as strong as the Hulk you can only mean at his calmest state. The very state the MCU displays him. At his calmest...and if you do the math that 100 tons × one billion five hundred million equals 150 billion tons...in other words that's equivalent to One Billion Five Hundred Million Hulk's at his calmest state.

Such disrespect to the Hulk.
