I lost respect for Corey when i met him at Indy last year, I was trying to get everyone to sign my ticket, I managed to get Denny to sign it, and Corey saw his name, handed the ticket back to me and said, "nah" dude can't put his arguments behind him for the fans
Lol Corey Lajoie did the same thing to me I had a hat with signatures on it at a meet and greet and signed the inside where u can't see it when displayed
Remember when everyone thought Hocevar was the odd one out at Spire? How everyone thought LaJoie and Smith were gonna be frontrunners and Hocevar would languish? Man, the times...
Who the heck thought that? Hocevar outperformed Chastain in their races as teammates last year. The Racermetric model accurately predicted that Hocevar would outperform LaJoie, who would outperform Smith.
LaJoie's bad equipment excuse is so lame considering Ross has been overdriving Tier 3 cars for most of his career, and bringing better results than what they're capable of.
BK Racing had three top tens in its seven year history, the third incarnation of Tri-Star Motorsports never had one, the #32 had six in ten years (three of them from LaJoie) and he accounts for most of Spire's 'sucess' until this year. Last week was the first time any of the organizations he's spent more than a week at managed to average a running position better than thirteenth. And he's the one who did it.
@@HattieJosh That was the single most flukey win in NASCAR history. Haley's average running position in that race was about 30th. That was a combination of a well-timed call by Peter Sospenzo and extremely good luck on when exactly the lightning hit. And LaJoie beat him nearly every week when they were teammates in 2021.
I don’t have any sympathy for him except for the fact that some fans went after his family. That’s a big no no. Other than that, no! I’m sick of him taking out my driver (and others) and causing untimely cautions just for the heck of it.
Corey LaJoie should’ve been suspended after Pocono and should’ve gotten some harsh penalties for being a hazard and dirty driver on track. I used to respect Corey, I used to feel bad for Corey, but his antics this year made me lose respect for him… Sadly he did it to himself
5:50 can’t blame Corey when he didn’t get as much prep with the team. Remember Josh Berry at Las Vegas? Wasn’t up to speed. Had he gotten another race, then he would’ve done well
And that Elliott finished in the exact same position the year prior. Gateway is not a good track for Hendrick. Bowman's Hendrick debut resulted in a 26th.
Yeah, that is why at the time I didn’t read to much into. Even this year Hendrick was awful by their standards. I think what makes it look bad for him though is he was getting beat by his own car. Not really his fault but to most fans it wasn’t a good look then to going into this year and get dominated by your rookie teammates 😬. Not good
NASCAR fans back in 2020 after the Daytona 500 race: I'm glad both drivers is okay. NASCAR fans in 2024: I hate this guy when he drove in a HMS car and also he wrecks half of the infield every week!!!! CWTS caution clock died in 2016, Corey Lajoie is the new caution clock. All he wants is to win races every year, otherwise he makes excuses and destroys everyone. Edit: He has blocked me on Twitter and he is a bad guy. That's why Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar are good guys and much better.
I lost respect for the dude when, on his podcast he talked about the time someone spotted him at lowes and the fan asked if it was him, and he said "no, im not corey", just so the fan wouldn't "bother" him. douche move man
His flip at Talladega could give him a reason why he should move down to Xfinity. And he did nothing wrong. Everyone makes mistakes. But sometimes its intertentional.
Corey's been coasting on his daddy's name his whole career. He's never accomplished anything of note in a major series, outside of a few ARCA wins a decade ago.
I am a NASCAR fan and this is why I can not tolerate him. He is not cut out for this level of racing, and there is nothing wrong with that, as very few are. But he is FULL of himself, and for some reason he thinks he is, except that everyone is conspiring against him to hold him back from the greatness he so richly deserves, if only other people and companies and you-name-it weren't out to get him, and that also (for some reason) includes us fans. Yes, I am the reason he is a crap driver. If you want to learn how to play victim, watch this dude. What was it he said a few weeks ago when he got his first ever top-10 on a non-drafting track? Something like his phone was blowing up, with everyone wanting him to drive their car? So, Corey, give me your number and I'll hire you to drive my wife's car to take my wife's elderly mother to the grocery store.
@@HattieJoshberry shows flashes of brilliance, and has 8 dnfs, but still, somehow, berry has 8 dnfs and is 4 positions AHEAD of Lajoie. Lajoie has few dnfs, but exchanged them for horrible finishes, and taking out someone (or himself [which happened at michigan]) some times
I'd always heard he was somewhat on the douchey side, didn't think much of it, but then listened to some of his podcasts before stacking pennies, along with a podcast that aired with some of the guys that used to work with him. They didn't have much good to say. But the thing that convinced me of it were two different shows that featured him. One was on Motor Trend when he was with Go FAS and the other was on CW when he was with Spire. Both made it seem like he felt these teams were beneath his talent level, and he was annoyed that 'he' was the only one putting in the real effort, which I felt was a huge slap in the face to any and all that put the time and energy into the teams. He never seemed grateful that he even got those opportunities.
I think its stupid current drivers having podcasts and working on other businesses, jack of all trades master of none. Champions think about winning and improving their craft.
I went too a Corey lajoie meet and greet 2 years ago in Daytona and he told us all that he was above the xfinity series & truck series then when I gave him my hat to sign he literally flipped in over and signed the inside where I could see it when I displayed Then this year i had a VIP pass and got a bunch of signatures on this sign and it had a bunch of signatures on it he did it as sloppy as possibly where it is faded and just a blob screw that guy
tbh i don’t really believe the whole bad equipment argument after kyle larson took a mid pack chip ganassi car and wheeled it to multiple wins. I however do feel bad for corey because i think he could at least be a serviceable driver given the opportunity, like the guy said hendrick is ass on flat tracks so i don’t think we can put too much stock on a 21st place finish seeing as he finished above folks like bowman, reddick, and keselowski. Again like he said nascar fans don’t care about stats and that sucks.
I’ll never ever ever hate on a driver because knowing I couldn’t do any better (yet) and none of us could each driver is different, everyone has good bad and mid years, Corey has js had bad luck
I don’t give a flying fuck who likes him and don’t likes him he built that fucking team from a non competitive team to a competitive team honestly that Atlanta race pissed me off so much that’s why I lost respect for chase elliot and still have respect for Corey
They turned on LaJoie cause of the hivemind. Lots of brainless bandwagon jumpers just joined the crowd. Look at SVG... he straight up ran into Chase Elliot and spun him at Darlington and NOBODY complained about SVG's horrible driving or cried for him to leave NASCAR. The hive continued to drool over SVG. But LaJoie taps someone and the hive instantly screams like girls.
To play devils advocate a little bit, and I don’t even know how much it matters, Hocevar and smith have always ran for fantastic teams. Corey has literally, not once in his life, driven for a good team. He’s ran races for good trucks, but if I’m not mistaken they’ve all been on superspeedways and he’s been caught up in wrecks. And like stated, when he drove the Hendrick car it wasn’t at a good track for Hendrick and not a good track for him. Neither party runs well there and if I’m not mistaken he had a mistake in qualifying that, if it didn’t happen, most likely would’ve had him running higher. I’d love to see him jump in Nick Sanchez’s truck next season or something and see how he runs year long
What are you even talking about? Zane Smith has almost as many top 5s 3/4 of the way through his rookie year as Lajoie has in his entire 8 year career lmfao
Corey LaJoie does it to himself. People are just calling out his actions as they are, and let's face it, he is an overrated driver who talks a way bigger game than he is actually able to provide. That's why people dislike him, along with generally being careless out on the track and not taking any accountability for it.
