my Wife and I ,both 33 with about $800k in investments, excluding home equity and rainy day funds. I've always strived to stay on top of my finances, hoping that being disciplined in my 20s would allow me/us to have more breathing room in our 40s+ But now, as life's demands intensify, we're pondering a crucial question: should we bring in a financial expert to help us maximize our wealth?

Mywife and I can totally relate. We've been disciplined about our finances too, and it's paid off. We're in our mid-30s and combined net worth shows we are millionaires .with ~450k in retirement/investments.Years of driving 20+ year old cars with multiple shades of paint (or as i called it, "custom" paint jobs) and knocking out $170k in student loans literally paid off. To people going through the struggle, take it step by (non trademark) baby step. You'll get through it. Its worth it.

At 42, I've accumulated $997k in my 401k, thanks to starting at 18 and making consistent investments. With my company since high school, I contribute 10% of my income, maximizing a 4.75% match. My proactive financial advisor emphasized the power of compound interest - starting early allows money more time to grow. While I didn't mention returns from my brokerage account managed by Monica, the lesson is clear: start early, be patient, and consider a financial expert to help your wealth thrive!

The average stock in my portfolio has been cut in half, and the only way to make money this year has been to either short or to trade long in very short time frames. I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my dipping $117k stock portfolio, what’s the best way to take advantage of this market?

It’s precisely at times like these that investors need to be on guard against the next certainty. You don’t have to act on every forecast, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor.

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money. I started investing with $150k and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and get more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

Hi. I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second child. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks

@@julie-e3t However, if you do not have access to a professional like Clementina Abate Russo, quitting your job to focus on trading may not be the best approach. People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

It only soars if you make the right choices of course. I hit this mark pretty early on in my career, probably within the first 6 years of working. I've never had expensive tastes or enjoyed going out and spending all my salary on things I don't really need, so it wasn't really all that hard for me to achieve. Don't think that this can't be achieved on an average salary, because thats pretty much what I earned for alot of my career.

Can you explain what you mean by ‘compounding’ where it relates to the stock market? As I see lots of financial RU-vidrs use the term. I understand the term when it relates to bank account interest then earns its own interest and compounds that way. I guess when you invest in shares then reinvest the dividends into more shares then there’s a compounding effect. But when you talk about the stock market it returning typically returning 7% then you really talking about an increase in share prices. Presumably 7% being a greater monetary value each year. Though that’s obviously not locked in as share prices can go down as well as up. Am I missing something here? Or is there a different definition to ‘compounding’ than my bank interest example? Thanks for the help.😊

A good example of the power of exponentials is the Human Genome Project. After 1 year, the project had only mapped one ten thousandth of the genome, and the media at the time (that didn't understand exponentials) ran lots of stories along the lines of "This is a ridiculous endeavour, it's going to take 10,000 years". But it didn't. Because of the exponential growth of computing power, it only took another 12 years (and actually completed faster than anticipated).

Nice video explaining the concept. However you need to also take into account of investment and withdrawal fees and any potential capital gains tax when liquidating your investment. In reality you are probably looking at around 5-6% real return. Also the markets can drop 10% during global crisis e.g banking sector crash/covid so people have to be headstrong and resist the temptation to withdraw money or chop and change their portfolios which can incur a fee. Plus life also gets in the way people at some point will have to liquidate for large ticket items etc.

Hate to disagree but you don't earn any faster above 100k. It will be exactly the same rate as going from 10 to 100, or 1 to 10. Just your starting point and end point are different, but the rate that you get from start to finish will be the same.
