One thing I noticed early about NewJeans was that they subbed ALL of their content, including dance practices and performance vids. As an international fan I thought it was a nice touch. It’s a small thing but I’ve also kinda started using it as a signifier of a company’s meticulousness and quality.

i also like that newjeans isn't assigned a position in the group; these girls are welcome to be whoever they are and they genuinely look like they are having fun with that freedom. my bias Hanni is already welcomed to contributing to their music along with Danielle. I don't hear often that rookies get to have these opportunities.

I’m so glad Bang Si Hyuk provided Min Hee Jin her own label in Hybe Labels. At first she was about to work with/under Source Music and also through that label they did castings for NewJeans members. But then ADOR was created and they debuted there and let Source Music debut their own girl group (Le Sserafim) and nothing against Le Sserafim, but I totally see why they decided to debut Le Sserafim first… to give them time and spotlight, because Min Hee Jin had a big plan with NewJeans! I mean… yeah, it’s important to have “HYBE-like budget” and money support behind you, but I think it was just like “not to feel unsure”, but Min Hee Jin already had a big name and she knew what she was doing. Also… congrats to NewJeans today/yesterday their debut mini album reached 1M sales! Last time this happened with debut album, it was back in 1997 when Sechs Kies debuted with School Byeolgok album!

Yes, I was getting tired of all the girl crush concepts and noise music, don’t get me wrong I love both but it just seemed like everyone was doing it and it doesn’t have each group’s own flavor, like they were all just following trends. So yes NewJeans has been a great palate cleanser, not just being different but also witty and intelligent. I’ve never stanned a GG so hard and fast.

I was not drawn to any KPop girl groups until I saw NewJeans Hurt video.. my gosh they are talented and gorgeous. I'm a fan now.

Great video. I agree wholeheartedly with all your points. I love NewJeans and their sound and especially their deeply moving music videos Ditto A&B and OMG. As an American I have to say that while I love them and look forward to seeing them live, I don't believe an "Easy Listening" girl group will be very popular in America. I also love Blackpink, and I can easily see why they are super popular in America. That is, Blackpink does bad-ass Bit*ch much more entertaining and classier than Western female singers/rappers and Western female groups do. And you can see the lack of interest in NewJeans by their RU-vid view numbers. I hope that I am wrong and that NewJeans becomes wildly popular in America, and I do hope the members emerge triumphant from the Hybe/Ador debacle.

NewJeans is the EPITOME of Y2K, the embodied it. From music, visuals, and choreography, that is their identity. That's what sets them apart from other GGs and that's why many people love them.

Well, you have to discuss the incredible drop that happened today from SM's CFO. As far as I can tell, his appeal to the public regarding inside financial matters about the company is strange, to say the least, and how he strategically phrased certain matters is fishy, to put it mildly. SM is not just about KPOP, they manage actors, athletes, models; to only focus on KPOP is to disregard its other businesses. HYBE Is known to operate on the QT - I'm not surprised, for their side, this is on the DL, why be flashy? If necessary, businesses release press releases - they're a public company, they answer to shareholders.

Its interesting that originally, theyre suppose to be minheejin and bangpdmin to collab for their forst girl group, due to idea differences, the best they can do is separate them and manage their own groups such as LESSERAFIM and NEWJEANS. Its interesting as these groups have similar style of lore and concept, but vastly different music direction

What they did was ride the recent 90's trend and the songs reflect that as well. And they're leaning heavily towards the western styles which I guess seems fresh in Korea, and nostalgic in America. (Korea was comparably poor in the 90's and they didn't have the same 90's trend only a rip off version back when people thought American stuff was the highest quality) The trend won't last but probably New Jeans will.

I’ve been having this discussion on why newjeans music is only doing well on Spotify some people say it’s because ador is pushing their music on playlist that are listened a lot or something like that . Their mv barely reach the 20M and in aple music or other platforms they aren’t doing too well so why are they so popular. Shouldn’t the music be pretty even in each platform if their music was popular that’s why they are getting a lot of hate recently people are saying that it’s weird they are in the billboard 100 with their mvs having 20M views so what do you guys think abt this is I feel like my girls are doing well bevause their music is so good but I would like to hear other opinions
