It sad really really sad As you are preaching about uniting in Africa and just on country from the 54 countries is making things difficult for you. #EndSARNoW
As an American, I'm really proud of you Nigerians!! Keep fighting for your FREEDOM! I commend you all and thanks for sharing this video Tayo!!! Document the days!!
I'm so so proud of you Nigerian youth..🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬. This been long supposed to happen.... You guys still have a loooooong way... We might be dishing and hating each other here on social media.... But we support you...♥️♥️♥️🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Proud of the Nigerians in Nigeria as well as the ones abroad holding protests in UK, US, RUSSIA, SWITZERLAND, CANADA and many more 🇳🇬✊🏿together we shall make a better Nigeria 😍❤️
After visiting Nigeria 2 different times. Recently I have seen the abuse and harassment from sars. As a american I was so shocked. I would ask the officers why are you doing this. And then only let you go once they collect money. America has problems but Nigeria needs the help of their government to do better. Please #endsars
Tayo, don't forget to pinned Trudy. SARS harassed and arrested Wode Maya too, when he visited Nigeria. The are harassing, arresting and killing wrong citizens in the name of eradicating scam artist in the country.
Nice video! I see some confusion in the comments and I thought it might be useful to provide some context for non-Nigerians or Nigerians in the diaspora. This will be a little difficult, as there are some nuances that cannot be captured in just a few sentences. But here we go: 1. Nigeria has many wealthy or privileged people, along with many more poor people. There’s very little in between. 2. Many wealthy people in Nigeria have become wealthy or are perceived to have become wealthy through corruption i.e. stealing Nigerian commonwealth directly through participation in or by association with government at all levels, and in all regions of Nigeria. 3. Most public servants, including the Nigerian police, are grossly underpaid. Many believe this is why corruption marches on undeterred in Nigeria. 4. Civilian ownership of guns is mostly illegal in Nigeria - there might be exceptions for homemade guns used by local hunters. 5. The Nigerian Police Force is a Federal institution, directly under the Nigerian Executive branch (or Presidency) through the Ministry of Police Affairs or equivalent. Even though Nigeria has 36 states, there is no State police in Nigeria. For emphasis, the Nigerian President controls the police force. 6. SARS is an acronym for the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Nigerian police. 7. The original mandate was to tackle the proliferation of armed robbery in major cities (starting with Lagos). 8. The Nigerian police, especially lower level officers, being grossly underpaid, generally resort to extortion of Nigerians. 9. The SARS unit (a plain clothes unit) has now become almost indistinguishable from the problem they were created to solve i.e. armed robbery i.e. they rob and kill innocent citizens in broad daylight. 10. The youth in Nigeria are especially affected, because the SARS unit profiles them based on clothes they wear, hairstyles, cars they drive etc. This is natural, since there's a high probability that those who drive nice cars, are fashionable etc. will likely have money to be extorted. And, since they're young, its unlikely they're government officials with influence (which could lead to repercussions).. Hope this helps someone.
I can't begin to tell you how much I HONOUR THE YOUTH OF NIGERIA for taking action & making sure that a revolutionary decision takes effect...SARS SHOULD BE DISSOLVED & POLICE FORCE SHPILD BE REHABILITATED TO ENSURE THAT THEY SHOULD NOT OPERATE UNDER A DIFFERENT GUISE! YOU COLLECTIVE VOICE IS POWERFUL MY BROTHERS & SISTERS MORE POWER TO THE YOUTH OF NIGERIA✊✊✊✊ Respect from Botswana!!!
@@charles4163 This is a very revolutionary and transformative year trust me when I say that our generation and others after us will enjoy the fruit of the collectives bravery and decision to effect good change... Nigeria will be forced to ensure that they effect the necessary change especially because your country is Africa's economic hub...
Finally someone has posted a video on the SARS protest that finally makes some sense. I live in the U.S and I've been wondering for days why the heck Nigerians are protesting about SARS and this video has finally shed some light. Thanks Tayo!
Well done Tayo for being a part of the #ENDSARS Movement and also sharing this insightful vlog. The oppressors live a well insulated lifestyle, they are dictators, utterly selfish, clueless and only cater to their closely knit circle. We must keep pushing and demanding until we get desired outcome! My heart goes out to the men and women whose lives have been unlawfully taken by Sars officials as well as those that lost their precious lives during these protests! The Fight continues....
@Tayo Aina we stand with the Nigerian Youth in a protest against police brutality #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality . Light and love from South Africa. I clicked "LIKE"
The sleeping Giant of Africa is waking up. Am happy to be amoung the living to witness today. On this day Nigeria will change and be better moving forward. This was needed. We have been calm for way too long . Thanks Tayo. Writing from New York. #Endsars
I was in Nigeria 4 years ago. On my way to the supermarket , my friend and I came down from the car and walked towards the entrance of the shop we were going to, then this Sars guys just crossed us with a bus and forced us inside the bus without any proper warrant , I showed them my U.S ID and they let us go. if I was not with my US ID what would have been my fate . They asked us where we coming from and where we going to and I told them am a computer engineer and also work in the medical field, they said I was lying, that i look to fresh and young. They asked for money I told them no. But my frd was so scared, I just had to give them and they let us go. One can't be in his county without being afraid to move around. So sad
Just as the last guy said, After this protest we will continue protesting until Nigeria becomes a better place ✊ 🇳🇬 #revolutionarytalks We'll get there
First, I am an African American and this video shows me that we communicate very passionately about things we care about. I love it and will not deny it anymore. I am black. I am not an angry black women or savage thug. Despite slavery and racism, some primal instincts and mannerisms have not left us.
@Cloy d Ejukator it's some parents + white people pushing the hate narrative, just like all forms of tribalism. Meanwhile we mainly watch African American content and look up to their stars.
Thanks for this video 💙 I'm Nigerian in the UK and I didn't know these things were going on. Was honestly clueless of the pain and suffering the police held on the youths in Nigeria 🇳🇬 😔 God bless their stand, thank you for this information. Love you guys, supporting you 💙✊🏾
#ENDSARS💪🇿🇦 We are with you guys because we feel the same struggle whether we like it or not we are the future of Africa and we need each other. Unity is vital, support is vital, normalizing to fight for each other for the better Africa that we want is vital. I wish I could do more on this as I'm in South African citizen but I feel the pain of the Youth and we can not be silent until a change is made. #ENDSARS #ENDSARS #ENDSARS Power and Strength is ours💪🇳🇬🇿🇦
Nigerian police need to face the new realities... if they are not intelligent enough to fight modern crimes, the innocent youth shouldn't pay for it. #RestructurePoliceNG
@@elozonath And why should they be fighting cyber crime when Fulani herdsmen are going around killing people in villages? It's back to the same issue of prioritizing what the colonial masters want them to
@@jon_s people like you can argue off point without even understanding the point being discussed........why are they seizing people phones and laptops and going through manually? that is the point being made that is a STUPID way to be fighting the so called 419 or cyber crime they are supposedly fighting . The poater is simply pointing out that is a very baseless and foolhardy way to fight cyber crime, practically every tom dick and harry has a laptop or sophisticated phone so they plan to be stopping everyone and scrolling through thier business? Please understand what you are arguing about
Proud of you for covering this. I am 54 yrs old but I was saying to my friends this morning that I wish I could return to Niga immediately to be a part of this. 👏🏽👍🏾
Tayo, It was timely that you returned to Nigeria on the day of the protest. You surely captured the essence of the protest and we were able to hear from the youth. Great to see unity amongst the youth( one voice) and the next hurdle is election( ensure you vote and not sell your right)Kudos Tayo 👏🏽👏🏽
🇬🇭I’m Ghanaian and I’m truly heartbroken by all this that’s going on in Nigeria rn💔 I stand with my Nigerian🇳🇬 brothers and sisters against the police brutality, corruption, the government etc. Not only do I stand with Nigeria, but the whole of Africa ✊🏾🌍
There's a disconnect between our so called leaders and youths of Nigeria. All this agitation is actually heading in an ultimate direction.. youths want to take control of their own future, they want freedom and opportunities for a better life. They're tired of the 60 years of disappointment and deciet. WE have no other country, a land that can be as beautiful and prosperous as canada, uae, usa and yet everybody is fleeing abroad in droves with their families ..all due to bad leadership and mismanagement of our entire wealth. Shame@60.
I completely understand what the youths are trying to accomplish but the usa isnt the best theres always protesting here for blm because theres police burtaulity here against black people. Also the usa has the highest covid-19 cases in the world and there's bad roads in the usa just like anywhere else so Nigeria has just as much potential to be much better than these other countries you mentioned the problem is the old heads in government there in naija but I am hopeful that Nigeria will rise up because the world is watching and will help Nigeria in there fight. God bless.
The compilation of this video is everything and more to me... I have been a victim of sars harassment I was even almost raped.. so I stand with the #endsars... I have used my channel to say end sars and I will say it again #ENDSARS
Everyone watching, please check out and research the links Tayo has attached to this video. We need to support our brethren and families in Nigeria. The type of brain dead, numb ppl controlling the government in Nigeria (and most African countries) are the kind that need to be overwhelmed by the ppl, otherwise they’re tone-deaf and quite frankly, lack compassion. Every single Nigerian must play their part to help fix the problems now. This is just the seed, the opening, the starting point. Mentally lazy leaders are not fit to govern intelligent, resourceful, dynamic, energetic, driven, hardworking ppl like Nigerians.🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Richard Farrey - Why would anyone elect ppl in their 70’s??? Just by human nature alone, mental and physical decline has already begun to occur. How can governors or presidents in their 70’s approaching 80’s be able to keep up with all of the rapid geopolitical and other changes taking place in the world.
Well said...The days of incompetent, nincompoop leaders in Nigeria and Africa is coming to an end. Wake up African youth. The future belongs to us and our offsprings. ...We must not allow these old tired leaders destroy our beautiful continent b cos of greed
Ppl who have no clue what they’re talking about need to spend their energy fixing the nonsense going on right now in their own country and refrain from giving baseless “advice”.
Kenyans should emulate and say no to bad governors, impunity and corruption.. We need this guys.. With you all the way Nigerians. Thanks for setting the pace.. Africans emulate and stand up for your rights
Why are so many governments corrupt?😔 This needs to come to an end. People have been living in fear and suffering for too long. Support from Barbados to Nigeria🇧🇧 🇳🇬
Yes, the world has heard the voice of Nigerian youth. But I will suggest this protest be extended to bad governance, corruption in the system, bad legislation, bad judicially and Anything bad in Nigeria as a country. I’ve been privileged to live outside Nigeria and I can tell anybody that Nigeria as a country has what it takes to be better than western countries but bad government... #kudos
That biker 7:05 make a lot of sense people should not just watch them when harassing others, and big up to everyone out there, including Tayo for standing up and using your platform ..Jahbless One Africa
This is the only way we can build our continent, to stand up against all types of human rights violations. We are with you brothers and sisters!! #endsars
As an outsider, let me get this straight. Nigeria has a dedicated police to harass people who can afford smartphone, computer, and good dress? This is insane 😦
SARS, like the name suggest is a special force. S- Special. A- Anti. R- Robbery. S- Squad. They are a Special Police Force Unit, just like the FBI in the states. Difference is, they harass citizens just because they look fly.
@@nw9801 my thought is they could be supported in some way by the west (with a LONG history of rac1st policies) so basically yeah, they would be supported by rac1sts. I don’t know if they are a Nigerian govt agency or not, but the question remains, where does the funding for this “special” force come from?
I just love how we’re finally coming together to get what we want! WHAT WE DESERVE! Let’s just keep this energy till the next election. We need to get those old people off the seats!!!
@@roblucci2366 I have! They are nice. Nigerians and SA has history. This made then hard and outspoken, but SA has become too comfortable and relax, that's just the difference to me. What is your opinion. Please educate me. Thanks.
Despite the short comings and the state of the nation. When an average Nigerian youth enters a room and an average south African enters the same room, u can always know a Nigerian. They say we're loud, yes we are maybe that's because we're proud of who we are. We are bold, smart, good looking. We are Nigerian youth like no other. I rep Nija!
Police brutality will not be tolerated in this world. It must be stopped in Nigeria and everywhere in this world. I am from Canada and we are watching what’s going on in Nigeria. Sars must be stopped.
This was carefully documented. Parents watching this video in detail will truly understand this movement, its importance and its message esp what their children are facing.. being assaulted physically and mentally. Thank you Tayo. Good job as always!
Thank you for this video Tayo! Let them focus on these problems with modern solutions and methods rather than using traditional methods and judging us based on false parameters. This police unit needs better training & better funding.
I am so proud of our youths with their level of civility ...very civil on this matter which the authorities are far from..... about time to put respect on our names...you can't use crime to curb crime...if we deal with our internal issues the outside world will stop taking advantage and exploiting our innocence. #End SARS..ekosilo!!!
@Tayo Aina - Thank you for the awareness. I'm a AA female who will be traveling to Lagos, Nigeria in two months because I'm planning to repatriate to Africa. I was not aware of this issue., but I will now make my self more aware of what is going on. Thank you
