I’ve given this thought. Let us queue regular modes and extra at the same time. 1. Why can’t we queue 3s and Dropshot simultaneously? 2. Ranks should be fixed. Pretty much all the extra modes are mainly GCs once you get to diamond and it’s a problem. Dropshot didn’t even have SSLs. And 3rd would be to Epic: manage your fucking game and stop taking things away. In short? Poor development. Rocket League has so much untapped potential and it’s a shame that Epic/Psy keep showing us they don’t care time and time again
Extra mode main since 2016 and Ranked Hoops admin here 👋 You bring up some good points, but I think the single biggest change that would boost player count is to allow us to queue both standard and extra modes at the same time. The other thing I'll say is that online matchmaking and ranks shouldn't be the be-all-end-all for extra modes. Each extra mode has at least one thriving Discord community with ongoing events, and you can put together a private lobby almost as fast as queueing. But most importantly, every extra mode has a unique community and faces unique challenges, so in a way I disagree with the premise of the whole video. I am biased, but I think the Hoops community continues to do great things and I'm not worried one bit about it.

The idea of being able to queue standard and extra modes together would be interesting, but could be hard with the current menu system to do that. You’re right if ppl rly do want to find extra modes games the community discord servers r a great place for that, I guess this whole video is largely commenting on the casual player base largely ignoring these modes (although I agree, rumble and hoops have been doing quite well recently, which is great to see!), particularly snow day and drop shot. Especially when heatseeker and knockout were extremely popular, I believe it’s important to call for some change with the extra modes, which is ultimately what I aimed with this vid. @@mouldy_shoe fr someone was toxic to me and I asked for their 2v2 rank, he said diamond 1 and I said c1 cause I was c1 at the time and he said your not c1 you play like a plat. 😂 Diamond is the new Platinum confirmed.
here's a fix remove ranked like they did with trading also remove casuals + remove the ball and maybe then epic games might change their mind on the whole trading thing psyonix isn't bound to epic games, psyonix isn't owned by epic games, rocket league is still psyonix's game, if they step in and do something about the change epic games could agree, worst case scenario is nothing happens, since rocket league still is one of the most popular games on epic games I don't think they would forcefully drop the game like my parents dropped me as a baby, anyway I really hope psyonix does the right thing and fights back against the change (also yeah it's me again)
Interesting idea…unfortunately epic does own psyonix, and funds them in the process. Psyonix is kinda bound to whatever epic wants for the game, and if they were to split it’d be a pretty big blow financially for psyonix. It’s an unfortunate situation to be in, and the community suffers unfortunately. (Hi again 👋)
I love that! Yeah these modes offer stuff that can translate into the normal game, personally I love trying to pinch the hockey puck a million miles an hour just for fun
Great video, man! I have an idea, and it is to put all of the experimental maps ONLY in 3v3, 2v2, and 1v1 and make it ranked, it will be truly interesting since the layout of the maps are different, and maybe new mechanics or plays start being created.
extra modes aren't the only modes with rank distribution issues or smurf infestations, it's the entire game. they stopped trying to do anything about it a long time ago and all they care about is Fortnite and sucking all of the RL players dry of their money in the item shop. no updates for the game go to us unless it's about removing trading - which nobody wants, and posting new things to buy or recycled content over and over. They don't care because it helps Fortnite. They could easily do a lot to make this game better and draw players back or keep them in but big daddy EPIC just wants to squeeze it dry like a cash cow until they stop supporting RL entirely.
Yeah MMR distribution is a massive issue in most game modes, I feel it most here in OCE… As for Epic, well we all know about what they want from RL, I’d suggest watching my vid on the recent trading news, goes through a lot of what your taking about!
