@@Mudplays285 last year it peaked at 106 it definitely does get that hot, the hottest week I’ve ever seen was 5 days in a row of consecutive days over 100
@@Mudplays285 the government was telling literally everyone to stay inside, have ac on, drink lots of cold water. It was crazy hot, half of my plants fried
@@Mudplays285 come on down to the reservation’s, it gets suuuuuupppeer hot, vice versa during the winter those places get hit the hardest, I know my family had go hunting to survive because the roads were so bad going to a grocery store was a guarantee at getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.
Don't really care. We North Dakotans like our privacy, and our wide open spaces. One thing for sure, we don't have homeless tents around in the winter time! Winter keeps the rift raft out of our state. Also one of few states that aren't in debt!
Few misinformation points in this video. First of all, most of Yellowstone National Park is in Wyoming. Montana only has a sliver so people don't go to Montana to visit Yellowstone, they go to Wyoming. Second, 60% of Montana has the same Great Plains lanscape like North Dakota, and the same weather. Populous cities like Billings and Great Falls are in the plains area. The scenic Rocky Mountains only make up around 30% of the state. Third, 2:04 Badlands N.P. is in South Dakota.
@@Thefloorsspeakyiddish trust me brother! I don’t disrespect the people of the searing hot south like Arizona or Texas. Im from Fargo north Dakota. A dakotan of the blistering blizzard north.
The media buzz and celebrity presence actually makes Montana LESS attractive to the average person. If you want to see what happens when a bunch of rich celebrities move into an area, check out Jackson, WY. It's impossible to live there for anyone who is not rich.
I disagree with the statement "Montana wins hands down in regards to job opportunities". Perhaps their GDP is better, but tons of jobs in ND both in energy, and agriculture. Fargo, and Bismark also are decent job markets.
In a way, the "jobs" in ND are a lie. I've lived here for ten yrs, and some of my friends have lived here 60 yrs. Many, many of these jobs require use of inadequate, insufficient, broken, tools & equipment, with dim-witted, drugged-out, dangerous, criminal-record co-workers, in an extremely dangerous environment & conditions, for 8-14 days straight, 12 hr shifts.
SO much to comment on here: - Yellowstone is TECHNICALLY located in part in Montana - nearly all of Yellowstone Park is in Wyoming, not Montana - A large percentage of Montana shares similar/identical geography with North Dakota, so much of this list is essentially comparing western Montana to North Dakota and eastern Montana - the big oil push in the Bakken oil region really drove North Dakota --- people working in ND had to live in eastern Montana for lack of housing - do you really think the sky magically turns into 'BIG SKY' when you cross the border from North Dakota into Montana? - number six is comparing population density, saying that MT has lower population density than ND, which is correct... SO WHY IS THE TITLE OF THIS VIDEO ASKING WHY NORTH DAKOTA IS VASTLY EMPTIER THAN MONTANA? That is getting the issue EXACTLY BACKWARD? (ok, I suspect it is because this was generated by AI)
People are usually motivated to move over financial issues. I'd say money is a bigger motivator than all the other factors combined. Celebrities? Give me a break.
To live in North Dakota it’s honestly not bad because on the days it’s that cold we don’t have school 🏫 😂😂😂 and I hate school…..also if it snows a lot which it does a lot ❤❤
North Dakota is half the size of Montana land wise, MT population has 1 million, ND has 780.000....so MT is actually emptier than ND when you figure in the land size of state and the population. :)
Last time we traversed Montana, we encountered a skin head that did not like us eating at a diner. We are both white and 60 years old.....Not my first place to visit...
Montana 7.64 people per sq Mile. North Dakota 11.75. Good job guys. As for net population change in one year - a few thousand people is rounding error.
a lot of these stats seem to be highly opinionated, like "the best winters are in florida and hawaii" i doubt take into account the people who dont like heat and prefer colder weather. I know its not as popular an idea as the sunny days 24/7, but i doubt whoever put together these statistics didnt take into account all the variables, only the ones they wanted to focus on
I grew up on Long Island NY so used to cold and snow. Took me 20 years to acclimate to Florida. Florida is very hot with many hurricane scares and too many people. But I now love it 🤷♀️.
I’m a Minnesotan. Back when we were in danger of losing the Twins and Vikings, I joked that if we lost the teams, just change our name to East Dakota!!! 😂🤣😂
Western Montana is far different than Eastern Montana. I bet the stats for Eastern Montana are similar to North Dakota. Hell, you might as well call it west North Dakota lol. The west side of Montana is gorgeous and mountainous. The east side is flat and ugly just like ND. I still love living in North Dakota though.
ive lived in North dakota for 40 years and agreed on the winters .last winter was by far the worst i can remember. it was basically a nonstop blizzard, and it was still -40 windchill in march and it snowed until may i believe. but theres a ton to love about Fargo and N.D as a whole .
Traveled from Denver to Bismarck last week for work. Wind gusts were 40mph.. yeah. That's an average ND day. And driving across all that farmland and knowing those farmers are out in it 12 months a year.. impressively tough people. I don't know how the American Indians survived up there.
The people of North Dakota dislike outsiders. The outsiders go to North Dakota get their oil money and leave because the locals make it miserable for outsiders. It’s why most of North Dakota small towns are dying because the locals are leaving and the locals who stay run off outsiders who otherwise would stay their. North Dakota is a dying state. Especially the western side of the state.
Back in 1978 l was in the Air Force and got assigned to Minot Air Force Base close to the Canadian border, As a 18 year old fresh out of high school l was lucky enough to be able to swap out assignments with a guy from Chicago who wanted to stay close to his girlfriend, So he gave me his order to go to Germany! Man I really lucked out of a horrible assignment post.
Tiny towns, far apart, no jobs, very cold winters, hot and humid summers, no trees, wind is wicked. All reasons people dislike it. On the plus side, no crowds, northern pike, northern lights, good food, killer sunrises and sunsets, flocks of pheasants, deer and ducks.
I’m from the South and currently in North Dakota cause my husband works in the oil field, but I’m gonna tell you, I wouldn’t be here if not for that. The people are wonderful, and it’s beautiful country, with the cliffs of the Badlands and rolling fields, but the winter is downright nasty. I’ve never in my life felt this cold. It got down to -70° last month. We just got 5” of snow today, in March. What 😭😭😩🥶 But I will brag on how great the infrastructure is prepared for it, and the summers are amazing. So no hate on ND itself, just the unbearable cold.
North Dakota Winters are harsh. Blizzards with -35 degree weather with 60 mph winds and drifting snow. They don't cancel school for kids unless the windchill exceeds -50 °F. There are lots of opportunities in North Dakota. Relatively low cost of living. We came into North Dakota with a household income of $36k, and are leaving with a household income over $400k.
I still remember this dialog from the movie, "hunt for red october" I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me.... Simple dialog such as this reinforces the belief, that one curses an evil communist regime but don't hate the people who probably suffer within. since then, I always wanted to visit Montana.
North Dakota is not vastly emptier than Montana. Montana has 8 persons per square mile and North Dakota has 11 persons per square mile. You said they are similar, but they are not. Montana is mountainous in the west, North Dakota does not have big mountains.
I might be moving to Montana soon Just to raise me up a crop of Dental Floss RAISING it up WAXING it down In a little white box I can sell Uptown MONTANA -Frank Zappa
the badlands are nice to look at but the east side of nd is miserable most of the year. once the snowfall is over you get flooding. nd has great potatoes.
But it is NOT vastly emptier that Montana. Montana has less than 7 people per square mile and North Dakota has more than 9 people per square mile. Your information is INCORRECT.
north Dakota has oil field jobs and on the other side of the state is Fargo.its a big city with any job your looking for basically, but I think the pay is lower here than other states .
@@burnthecandleatbothendz thank you. I'm Italian and in the last couple of months I've been watching several videos comparing different lifestyles in the Noth US. I love that part of your country. Maybe one day I will be able to travel there.
The celebrities are not moving to the eastern half Montana, plus they have multiple homes elsewhere so they are not there for most of the winter for sure, get real. I have lived in Fargo, ND for most of my life, it's has grown in the last few years with people who have been placed by the thousands, yet many of them seem to somehow disappear when it gets cold out, when government is handing out "free" money and paying the rent why not move around.
