Aprilia, not for everyone. AF1 in Texas has all the parts you need folks so don't be scared. LOL I'm on my 6th Ape, love these bikes to death.

Owned both rsv4 and zx10r same year model, have to say in performance both are similar, practicality zx10r win all day long, getting older moved to something more upright, if i have to choose another superbike again i will choose rsv4 any day, it will steal your heart the moment you start it on. RSV4 is a bike you buy to make your self happy, buy it for your heart not brain. The end

I bought my tuono factory and have never been so happy and although I am not capable to ride it to its full potential it doesn't bother me one bit . I love and respect it and I know it will bite if I don't respect it . I really don't believe you can thrash these bikes on the road , not enough decent road these days with crap surfaces full of potholes and shredded tarmac anyway , if you have to ride fast do it safe on a track

Just finally picked up my dream bike earlier this year, leftover 2020 factory edition and I absolutely love it. 2019/20 are my favorite years/styling. 5k miles so far and no issues other than a simple oil leak that was fixed by me re torquing the side cover and oil pan bolts.

The reason it doesn’t like to hot start is the starter wire. Common issue. I think the solution would be to swap out the wire for a thicker gauge. I believe AF1 has a kit for sale.

SOOOOO true on everything you said. I have a 17 and I found that I can’t reposition the levers much. The left clutch lever will hit the toggles. I kept getting a warning light and didn’t know why. When I held the clutch in at a light it would touch the forward toggle and deactivate my ATC. BUMMER. Good thing I only clutch at a take off👍

Played the sound of that V4 on my hifi set. Neighbors didn’t like it but I did 🤣 rode a 2019 RSV4 last Saturday. Damn… almost lost my license so yeah… gotta have it 😂

Agree with the higher cost of ownership and longer (on average) wait time for parts. For those local to SoCal, Armauri is a local mechanic who only works on Aprilias (mostly RSV4s) and is probably the best known and respected Aprilia mechanic in the country. (Follow his postings on the Aprilia forums and you’ll see why.) This would help mitigate some of that cost as his prices are very reasonable and his quality of work is second to none. As for parts, AF1Racing (google them) keep stock many (not all) Aprilia OEM/aftermarket parts. They’re like the unofficial/official flagship Aprilia dealership of the US. (At least that’s how I consider them.) Super knowledgeable and great help when purchasing and deciding on parts. I’m not affiliated with either one of them but as an RSV4 owner myself, also in SoCal, I find having and knowing of these references useful.

I can live with these little problems... she is so fine, that I got 2. One for street duty and one for track duty.... I was thinking to get an Tuono Factory for a more relax ride but, I want something little different so, a Ducati Hypermotard SP will come one day... I am a Honda guy and love those bikes, had them all ( CBR 600F 4, CBR 600RR 03, CBR 929RR 00, RC51 03, CBR 1000RR 12, CBR 600RR 07) But, since I saw that RSV4 I wanted it. No regrets and no problems on either one. 👍

I had the opportunity to ride this motorcycle for two months straight, and let me tell you the way this machine handles is amazing feels like a 600cc, I will get this motorcycle not because is the fastest or the best out there, just because the way it makes me feel, the way it handles and the sound is amazing

I feel if you are going to ride, you need to know how to service them, and pre order consumables BEFORE you do it... Last month did 2, they also complained about the cost from a dealer. I helped them out.... read the service manual twice, you will do the majority of the work. "I don't know how" well......... you gonna learn.... $100-130 out the door. "I understand why it's costly now" mhmmm Feed a man for a day....... you get it.

The shims kit is 700 with tools. If doing track days maybe worth it. Otherwise another 500 to have shop do it is worth it to me.

The service pricing is exactly the same as my triumph speed triple 1050. I was doing 12,000 miles a year and it was costing me £250 for the 6,000 miles service and £850 for the 12,000 service and I do that yearly

Valve adjustment is costly despite what brand you have. The difference is how long it takes and how often you have to do it. And that is due to how it is enginered not that it is italian. Honda V4s is as expensive to make a valves adjustment.

My service light has come on a couple of times I unhooked the battery for a while and then was told to turn ignition on and off 12 times So now its off.What did you do I unhooked my butterfly valve also Im not sure what is causing the lght to come on

Bikes like this attract everyones attention. ZX14R is a head turner, cops and non law enforcement alike. I still ride with stock exhausts on my ZX14R after 4 years and contemplate the upgrade to Brocks whenever I hear a 250 ride by sounding like a liter bike with straight pipe lol.

When you buy a machine like that, I'd just say follow your heart, buy what the heart ones, not the most sensible option. R1M is a incredible bike too, so I wouldnt sweat it owning one instead of a RSV1 :)

$900.00 for valve service is high, but not as bad as my Panigale which costs $1,500.00. I would definitely like to add the RSV4 to my collection it’s a great bike.

I have an RSV4 and it's at the dealership right now... I paid 1100$ for oil change, oil pressure sensor, new tires, balancing, break flush, and my rear sprocket hub needed some fixing. I used AF1 for parts and oil and that cut a lot of the cost down

@@Mechaneer nothing was aftermarket, it was all OEM Aprilia. The reason why they allowed it was because it was a Ducati dealership and the nearest Aprilia dealership is 4 hours away

$900.....well, I just picked up an RSV4 1000 RF. I'm in Canada so that's $1124.53 with the exchange, or to put it into perspective, $775 cheaper than the first major service on my Ducati Multistrada Pikes Peak I just had done. SO the Aprilia is a bargain! Mine has the race tuning as well. Peace! D

Hey man, great video. The humor was a nice touch. Iv'e had this bike for almost 3 years now and have had similar issues. I wanted to see how you made out with the hard start issue when hot. I used to have the same problem but was rectified near the end of my warranty. At first the dealer will tell you its normal. But if your persistent you may get it repaired under warranty. If you still have warranty. From factory they set the valve clearance really tight for optimal performance. But overtime the some valves will expand a little more causing low cylinder pressure when warm. My first year of ownership my bike had two minor bugs and this valve clearance issue. But once the bike is broken in you can adjust these valves early and delay the 20km(1600mile) valve adjustment. Night and day difference. Bike is amazing once the bugs are figured out.

Glad to see you caught on to the sarcasm, Many missed that part. Yes, my bike will crank slow when hot and it has to be in neutral for faster cranking. I recently had the valves services at 12k miles but didn't notice a difference in performance levels. Maybe my guy set the valves to the tighter factory specs. Who knows. I still love her to death.

I own a 2016 RSV4RR and the hard starts are a pain when you cut her off after she’s gotten hot. The mechanic at the dealership disconnected the carbon fuel canister that catches escaping fuel vapors and it greatly reduced that problem. She’ll roast your butt if you get stuck in traffic and my 12K service which I had done 2 days okay cost me $1210 out the door. I did have to replace the chain which added another $125 to the price but I would not trade her for the world. In fact I’ll be getting an RF here shortly to keep her company

According to the service department guy where I take mine, it's every 12,500 miles. He did however say you can push it to 15,000 and not really worry about it which is what I plan on doing.

Liter bikes are expensive especially doing 10k to 15k a year. Lucky me i did lot of slave work and now I'm a mechanic by trade, I do everything myself I can't imagine needing a mechanic, bikes down time, cost etcm... working on bikes is PITA but 100k miles did all the work never been on road side, and still alive! so we continue. I hear this bike doesn't do well in heat and with stock exhaust you can melt the rear exhaust valve in the piston. Like racing mechanic when you get a new bike better get your torque spec sheet and familiarize yourself with the beautiful beasts procedural work 😍

I had a valve adjustment done on my Honda VFR800 and it was 750. It is twice as much work to access all the valves on a V4 compared to an inline 4. My VFR is a 90 degree V4, the RSV4 is 60 degree so I can only imagine its much tighter under the tank.

Sorry MOTO PILOT. Didn't convince me. Still want one 😀. It was similar with the RSV Mille back in the day. And still kind of is. Because parts are more expensive than other bikes. But I still love my Mille which I'm never gonna sell. I changed her engine my self. So what's a little valve clearence check ? I'll get the tools and do it my self. 900 is way too much. Plus it's fun to do it your self. Love the RSV4 ! Best bike in the world ! 💓💪

Trouble starting hot? If it hasn't always been a problem then it is most likely because your valve clearances are too tight.

I fucking love this video... I ride a Yamaha R1 2011 with only 5k mileage on the clock and sounds fucking awesome. I've had the Aprilia RS125 and RS250 as a kid. Awesome handling bikes. Huge Aprilia fan. I wish I had the RSV4 but sadly out of my price league now as I have a family and parts and servicing is a fucking killer (even though I live in London, UK). Awesome bike thanks for uploading 😍😍😍😍❤️💯👌

The rotax V2 was an extremely reliable engine the V4 you take your chances with that thing hot damn it's fun though 👌

At least its not the norton v4! Im picking up a 2003 rsv mille next week and im so excited, have ridden my mates v4 tuono a few times and the thing is SAVAGE, but it absolutely kills batteries, the exhaust valve constantly cycles when the ignitions on and the engine isnt running and if you forget and leave it for 30 seconds itll drain the battery and then wont start, its left him stranded a few times! Also, a guy in a local riding group had a 19' factory tuono from new, and at something like 6,000 miles an exhaust valve hit a piston, and it wasnt accepted by warranty, and they quoted him a ridiculous figure, something like £12k with labour

@@thephantom2man unfortunately not a unknown story with the V4 you won't go far wrong with the mille just check it's had the uprated battery cables and starter solenoid .
