My advice for enjoying Olympia (if the ship arrives early in the morning). Don't do an organized excursion - for all the reasons you described. Get off the ship on your own as soon as the ship clears. Take a taxi directly to Olympia (arrange for driver to come back for you at a designated time). You will almost have the place to your own. I did that and it worked out perfectly. I had the first hour at Olympia almost entirely to myself. It was only when we were leaving the ruins and walking to the museum that we saw all the excursion buses arriving with loads of people on them. That first hour is an opportunity to enjoy the place when it's very quiet.
Hey, Zach...what I loved about this vid: choice of music, artifacts at the museum, different perspectives of the ship (from the shore, from the pool, from your window). I would have loved to have seen the "Tuscan" menu pages to see dining offerings and, of course, I would have loved to see your food selection. Food is always a great shot! I have never been on a cruise so I very much enjoy your channel. Thanks!
My family will spend 3 days in Athens before our Celebrity cruise. I hope you visit Platka if there is time. Look forward to seeing what you do in Turkey.
Hello Zach. These videos are so very helpful. I will keep these early excursions in mind as we are not natural early birds. I think we'll love Olympia as my spouse and I both love the Olympics and history and we are from Olympia, WA! Thanks for the information about this port. Can't wait until you get to Ephesus (oh the history!) and Israel (more history!) P.S. I hope you are embracing the sunscreen!
Thanks Zac, we've just finished an Eastern Med cruise on Apex the highlight for us were the sites in Israel, good luck with Athens, be good to hear what you think of it!, we loved the ship (Eden lived up to its name) and all the crew company Take care and enjoy
Hi Steve, so glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise! The itinerary was awesome and I loved Israel. Cannot wait to release those vlogs in December. Thanks for watching and take care.
