I find the 392 wrangler pricing a bargain if you see the value in it. It pretty much has all the bells and whistles on it. If you buy a base rubicon which is about 43k thats with hardly any options then you pay for a v8 motor swap which cost at least 35k for a total of 78k. So if you ask me id rather buy the 392 from factory and get basically all the options vs getting a base rubicon. Oh just so you know too, it a new frame, a factory 2 inch mopar lift, active exhaust and beadlock capable wheels plus factory warranty!!! So if you try to mimic the build i guarantee you that you will spend more than 90k. So that base msrp 392 is reasonable. Oh by the way for the TRX you cant order it at 69k. You would have to choose options which makes it a higher price than the 392.

Dude, I would suggest actually driving any vehicle before making a blanket statement that "it's not worth the money." Everyone has an opinion, and I totally respect that but I would hold until they're released. I can almost guarantee you that anyone that gets one will disagree with you 100% the minute they hit the gas pedal. I'll be one of them....
@MrKongpvu
@MrKongpvu 3 года назад
That's a lot of negativy and hate for a vehicle based all on opinion of price. IDK V8's are really nice for off-roading so this is very appealing. I haven't looked in detail but the other vehicles you mentioned are all quite a lot of money too so this is expected. Good or bad it's cool they at least gave us an option.

You should whine a bit more. Do videos on cars u can afford. Think about it this way....new fully loaded v6 rubicon is $63,000 and maybe u buy it for $59,000. For those that want a v8....a motor swap is going to run at least $30k. Now your at $89,000. Add some big tires...lift....other add-ones and your easily at $95k before you blink. Your video sucks. Sometimes it make sense to keep opinion to yourself

People have done way more with wranglers for way less, not my cup of tea to spend that much on a wrangler. But your right, it’s 2021 I forgot having opinions is offensive to everyone 🙃
@chase9481
@chase9481 3 года назад
I think the price somewhat makes sense. Not going to be a big seller, but according to Motortrend, a regular rubicon that has the same features that come standard on the 392 sets you back $61k. If you want a v8, the swap will cost you anywhere from $20-30k. So they're up-charging you for the engine, but you end up paying no more than if you get an aftermarket hemi and you get a warranty. And if you don't want the standard features, then you can still go aftermarket on a base Jeep. I went with the 4xe though because I think it will make more sense for my needs. If it ever actually gets shipped... Follow up after actually finishing the video: Yeah the 5.7 as an option would be great. I agree that it is nuts they chose to only put the big V8 in nearly the most loaded jeep possible.
@freakfiveoh
@freakfiveoh 3 года назад
I'm hoping this first V8 jeep is just going to be treated like a fully optioned launch edition, and maybe in another year they'll offer the 5.7 in the sports.

Thx for the vid - it's a Jeep thing. Yeah - you really can't compare anything to a Wrangler. Guys like me who would buy a Wrangler Rubicon are buying it because it's purpose built for what I want to do on the trails. The 392 Hemi only makes sense if you are already thinking about doing a Hemi conversion. If you're already going to do that then, yeah it makes sense. And yes it's expensive. If I want to go fast on the street I take my Ducati out. You can't compare a Dodge Demon to a Jeep Wrangler. Thx for the vid.

I’m cheap. But inflation has caught up with us and with the government handing out cash it’s getting worse. People are paying the asking price so who are we to say it isn’t worth it? It’s worth it to someone. Their financial future might be in jeopardy but their having fun today. Who the hell knows. I’ll buy a cheap Jeep and do a v8 swap if I choose. Or add a Ripp SC to the 3.6. Your video won’t bring down the price of a 392 Jeep.

Love your channel! I bought a 392 because it’s 3 vehicle in 1; its a Jeep, its a Convertible, and it’s a Muscle Car. Basically your paying $20k more for the Muscle Car part which is worth it to me. Your totally justified in the WTF reaction to the price, the 392 is way to much money. I agree. But when you factor in that it’s hard to get any reasonably equipped new 4-door wrangler for less than $40k, the you add all the Rubicon stuff, Paint, V8, One Touch convertible top, warranty, and your not that far off. But once you factor in your Time, sweat, busted knuckles, then the 392 starts to make more sense. I think Stelantis (sp?) leadership is going the other way on the V8, last I read it’s being cancelled as soon as 2023, my buddy who works in R&D told me SRT is already gone so this is the last factory V8 Jeep most likely, and it’s going to cost you. Obviously too much.

The newer V sixes are are more as powerful then the old V eights of 80’s and The only reason he would need 470 hp in a modern day jeep wrangler Rubicon is if you were to the towing an off-road trailer over landing. The trailers as capable as a Rubicon JL starts at around $70,000 for the trailer. The one I will be getting costs $120,000. So $77,000 starting is not bad. I just hope jeep makes a gladiator 392 next year.

Building a sport model to match the specs of a Rubicon is not cheap at all.The axles alone will run you 10k,then you still have to add the Rubi transfer case,Front swaybar disconnect,rims and tires,by the time your done you’ll be close to what 16k-18k and that’s just the mechanicals.I’ve owned 8 jeeps and my last build was a 2013 JKU and by the time I was done I was close to 90k.So I bought the Rubicon 392 and I love it,best 80k I ever spent.Even if you bought a sport for 42k and did a Hemi swap ,it would run you 70k+ and you would still not have the axles,transfer case and other equipment the Rubicon comes with so the 392 is a good deal and well worth it.Show me a built sport ,that you did a hemi 6.4 swap on that costs less then 80k ,with a factory warranty and support.

Yes it’s worth it and it’s a good deal.A loaded Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon is around 58-60k .Then to do a hemi swap is another 25k-30k.So that adds up to 80-85k,plus it’s factory installed with a factory warranty.Throw in the beadlocks rims,beefed up suspension and full time 4wd drive and it’s a really good deal.Actually it’s such a good deal that I’m buying one Monday

Some people say I want this I want that but at the end of the day most of those people don't buy or complain about it. I feel like everyone that's complaining just can't simply afford it. its the same people who thought the new JLs weren't worth it. Yet every JL owner is happy with their jeep. Pretty much what im saying is people will buy the 392 and at the end of the day they will be happy. Also some people just want everything included already. they don't wanna go thru the hassle of building their jeep. I do see your point that maybe they could of made a sport version and added a v8 for maybe $40-$50k but some people still wouldn't buy. All we can do is hope that they sit on the lots for a bit and they drop in price lol.

For that much money you could buy the maxed out Bronco Wildtrak and even have $10K left over. Just wait a couple of years for them to workout the bugs and available options selection issues. The best next option for most would be to get a hybrid version if you're going to keep it more than 5 years. Ford is already working on the hybrid version as well.

I agree… We purchased a new Jeep Sahara 2020 JLU last year. I was hoping to purchase a V8 version this year with cloth seats and Selec-Trac. Personally, I don’t like leather for the summer and don’t go off roading. I think Jeep missed on the pricing. We have a JKU & JLU. If their vehicles were made with high quality parts and were more comfortable like a luxury SUV maybe the pricing might make sense. When we swap out our 3rd vehicle sadly it might be time to test drive a Ford Bronco. They seem roomier and a have a better suspension for the roads. The new Jeep pricing is disappointing and seems like an overall bad investment.

I agree 77 is way too much money more than half the people they get to hear me in a Wrangler won't even take it off road they just want to be cool and say they have it they'll be people rolling them on the streets around the corners because they'll be going too fast they're hot top heavy as anyone knows that drives one hell I'm going down the road on Windy days if you've got a lift kit people know how it feels like you're going to tip over sometimes people are going to be going way too fast and you watch you'll see people rolling them there's other ways to get to work and spending 77,000
