nullrout Thats almost impossible with a tiny ass cable, you'll melt the lines before you actually get any kind of usage from them. That janky box he has setup is probably right around 30 amps max. a grow setup can easily use 50-100 amps. Homes are equipped with a 200 amp service entry at the weatherhead.
Michael Casella ? Yeah I watched the whole video. He said the cops came because of an alarm that was set off. Usually when their is illegal electricity tapping either it is a house of people just stealing power or it’s a drug house...sorry for being curious??
I hope he answers this ?, because I'm curious to know what happened too. No sense bringing it up otherwise, he knows we have to be wondering about this.
My two experiences (which may be out of the normal), basically agrees with you, insurance doesn't give two shits about trees causing damage, they won't pay.
Insurance will pay for tree damage. 2 of my neighbors had trees fall on their roofs when a micro burst came through and both companies paid for the repairs and the tree removal.
I see a pile of trash bags out in the front yard. I wonder if the occupants are being evicted or foreclosed on, and the home's owner is beginning the cleanup. I've never seen ghetto meth-head renters contract a tree service before.
My power went out about 5pm yesterday. Apparently just my house and the one across the street. I have a generator that kicks in after 3 seconds. I went out and talked to them. The disconnect burned off. They replaced that and connected it. It stayed in for about 20 seconds before kicking out again. They were out there until almost 9pm to get it going again. The main line is above ground along the road with lots of trees growing into it. They haven't trimmed in at least 10 years. The service to the houses is underground. I suspect they had to change the transformer.
I'm also assuming that those power lines don't have any circuit protection. Therefore you could have an unchecked short just start a raging fire with absolutely nothing to break the circuit. Which can actually cause issues upstream (such as feeder lines overheating and also catching fire or overloading / blowing a nearby transformer.
Hah !! POLE SAW !!! UPS just delivered an 8' pole saw to me - have to remove dead branches over hanging my car port and in other areas. Wish you were nearer as I'd ask you to do a major prune job .. the 80' tree may even need removal as it is leaning and I don't think it has ever been pruned...so; here goes an amateur with a rental articulating boom lift - good grief why are not you guys closer !? LOL Pruning the 'heavy' side first; then see how it looks and reacts. Great video; I am watching for what I can do to do a good pruning job safely.
What type of tree is it as some trees you can have removed for free as the people want the wood. Depending on the wood type the worst looking trees can produce the best looking wood.
It is an ash; has lots of life, that is, it is very alive. The problem is the leaning and a 'ton' of dead branches, limbs, and twigs. After a high wind and hail storm with a nearby tornado (might be rumor) touched down, it is leaning 3-6" more than before. Lots of dead stuff fell to the ground, too. I am going to use the pruned wood for a hugle garden I am building. I'd like to keep the tree as it is eye candy if you know what I mean - a beautiful tree, nice shade, and a number of blue jays call it home. If pruning does not do the 'trick' - time will tell - I'll see if I can find someone who wants ash. Thanks for your advise. Thanks for commenting; I appreciate it very much. btw; beginning the dead wood pruning the week of 09/24 - have talked to a local arborist who may do the prune for me, called Jessop Services, Chapell, NE. Have a great day.
EyeamEJ I used to be an electrician and I could tell you some interesting stuff I saw. I don't know how these people think they will get away with it though. In our area they have serious monitoring technology that can detect "leakage". About a year ago this power company scoured our whole neighborhood looking for someone stealing power, I was interested how they knew it was going on and so the worker and I got to talking about it. He kept it pretty vague but basically said they can narrow down to a row of homes and then it's matter of inspecting the meters from there. From my experience when the power company finds out they disconnect the drop feed from up at the pole, forcing the people stealing power to pull off their neighbors line.
I've seen a tweaker job done in a duplex where one unit was stealing _metered_ power from the other. The neighbor's bill shot up and then a set of car battery jumper cables were discovered in the breaker panels. Pieces of shit.
Glad you recorded your time on their property. Can see them trying to blame you for damaging something to get out of paying for your services. I'm sure that is how they roll looking at the electrical setup!
Ida left and wouldn't go back, same with customers that dont clean up the dog crap I wont bother with em. good on you for doin your part tho nice job man.
Two things in this world that i hate Thieves and Liars. And if you notice about every damn time the one that steals from you lies to your face about stealing it.
If I was sent to that job site, I would‘ve removed the illegal power stealing and let the home owners find out about it on their own, so when they try to get it fixed, the electricians that get sent out are like “heyyyy! You were doing some illegal shenanigans!”
That is some sophisticated tampering right there. The electric company was smart to leave the meter there even though they disconnected it at the weather head so they can have a reason to enter the property to check on it. And how the ground is solid looking where the wire goes in under they have been stealing for awhile.
why put chips on that oil spill? It was not the tree company's oil spill, they did not cause it, but if they put chips on it, then they become liable for the proper disposal of those now hazardous materials chips soaked in oil. The tree company is not obligated to clean up stuff they did not cause.
I wondered whatever happened there. I do hope they paid you. Yikes! Thieves! Good to see you again! Thank you for the video. I hope you enjoyed some rest and relaxation over the Labor Day weekend! God bless! ❤️✝️👍🏼 (insert cute chainsaw emoji here)
@@happytrees2899 Power company sent them out and they had to wait for the wires to be cut 1st clue there Stealing power 2nd clue no one home to move anything 3rd clue tree on the power line
I worked with a dude who's dad tried to bypass their meter or some shit, lost his arm in the process...multiple people told me the dude was an absolute asshole, one of them was his own son.
Was that a rental house? Landlord call you but tenants didn’t cooperate? Can’t imagine anyone not wanting to move their belongings out of the way, unless they were hoping they’d get damaged and be able to sue.
I am betting that is a rental and the landlord called in the work but is otherwise clueless. Humans really do make me shake my head way too often. Stay strong brother.
Yep, but maybe not completely clueless. Could be in the middle of evicting the tenants. I see a pile of trash bags in the front lawn, so it looks like someone is clearing out.
Man the whole sitution looked shady. Im kinda surprised you all took the job on being that truck was right there. Hopefully it was bid accordingly with all the obstacles.
Skinny Mcdoogin uh yeah so? Thats one circuit in the fuse panel your referring too, do you know what feeds all of the circuits in the panel? The main feed line from the meter. Unhooked before the meter, so you don’t pay, then hooked directly to the AC unit, no meter, no panel, worse yet NO fuses...... thats the whole houses normally available power( 7-15 of those wimpy 30 amp circuits you spoke of) supplied to the air conditioning. Welcome to school fool. Check yo self
There wouldn't be a line to the house if there wasn't a panel in it and it would not be in a liveable condition. The wires probably feed a perfectly intact panel, it's just african engineered.
goaliedude32 you obviously don’t know crap about electrical distribution so I’m not going to bother schooling you now, it’d be like trying to teach a toddler statistics. Go learn plus and minuses at least, before trying to correct someone on something you know nothing about.
Just walked off a job very similar. Similar lack of cooperation among the tenants, but angry meth heads inside talking crap. Props on getting it done amidst the circumstances.
It's so stupid too, they could have left the house on to look legit and then solo feed whatever circuit they need. Whatever, hope they get what's coming to them
3:33 lazy workers, as a lumber jack , the helper is right behind you clearing twigs and waiting for logs, the lazy helpers wait till your done cutting then want you to help moving twigs or lumber while you had your chain saw in your hands for a full tank, they think its easy walking around with a chain saw for 30 mins, have to tell them when to move, Fuck that its a easy job
Some of these people just go balls to the wall and do it live, by the looks of it they tied into the drop line so they would only be looking at 120v each line but I've seen people face 480v just to steal some copper so who knows.
@@FishFind3000 - you're right. I am a residential electrician, but not a lineman, and don't play one on tv. Its more so the slip/mistake/carelessness that will catch you. The fact that he has that unfused wire strewn on the around/underground is the scarier part for me. Find a break in the insulation and you're gonna know it. I've done a service change live (Shhh....), more than once, and I've swapped out a 100a main breaker live, and I do know what I'm doing, but I still sweat...
Illegal power sounds like you can talk to that corrections officer and inform them about that house being a grow house or if it's a rental depending on if the tenant has the power in there name or the owner of the property does the fines $25,000.00 or higher
Karma reigns in the end, the thieves will get what's coming to them . Great video, keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. We know it is not easy thanks.
what a mess. smh. between the sales lot of vehicles, the slick AF oil on the cement, the power lines, the cops showing up, the stolen electricity....and I haven't even mentioned the trees yet! Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go finish watching the second half of this video.
Good hard work made so much harder by all the junk in the way. After seeing the power theft set up I was hoping you'd drop the whole dam tree right on the house and then leave.
Wow this one is awesome. When you show the Family Guy say Roadhouse I laughed out loud. I so hope you keep doing stuff like that. But hey on this one it doesn't make any sense I mean why are you there who would pay for a job and say you can't move any vehicles and why didn't you just call the cops or the electric company I mean on the power situation. I love watching your videos man but on this one I'm kind of curious on the backstory but what is important is that you said you would do the job and you did it and you are safe. You've already did one fall video you don't need to do anymore. Thanks for another cool video have a great day.
Well you know what you're dealing with when you have dates and numbers paint marked on windows of cars...cars that have been towed/impounded. Not saying everyone who has a car towed is trash but as AvE says: if looks like shit, smells like shit, tastes like shit...spit it da fuq out.
