Most of the food gets wasted before it's even sold. Stores throw away perfectly good food everyday because it's 'expired'. But in reality most of it is still good to eat for days and sometimes even weeks. Also distributors are to blame for this aswell. Many fruits and vegetables with small imperfections get thrown away before they even reach the stores. Small dents in fruits and insect bites in the leaves, etc are some of the reasons they throw away perfectly healthy food. So i wouldn't feel to bad for wasting food.

Any time these countries get help from developed nations, it's always "they caused more harm than good." All of these comments are ridiculous. You see people living in abject poverty, eating garbage, and you feel grateful?? Why don't you feel angry? You realize this isn't random, right? Look up Oxfam's report, "Inequality in Indonesia: millions kept in poverty" "Today, the four richest men in Indonesia have more wealth than the combined total of the poorest 100 million people." Learn about generational poverty and how few opportunities Indonesians living in poverty have to better their lives.

Unbelievably sad and also amazing to see how these people adapt and reuse other people's trash for their own benefit. This is why I believe rich people should be charitable with their money to help people like this, not just to throw their stuff away for others to scrounge for to get by. It is a shame they can't catch that hazardous methane and use it to power electricity generators.
