We’d have nothing. No Superman, no Hulk, no Batman, no James Bond, no Sherlock Holmes. There’s no excuse. Either we recast these roles, or we don’t.

@@jrob4795 some characters become synonymous with the actor though ...would you accept another actor playing Iron man ? Probably not .....the only way that would be possible would be a reboot and in black panthers case most of the material had already been written

No excuses actually..he could be recasted.. . But the issue with Chad is that his character has appeared in 4movies.. And his likeness was used in the animated series.. So it's a much harder adjustment and change for fans especially, who wishes to immortalize the onscreen character to one actors performance... But it's definitely not wrong to recast.. It seems that marvel had to make shuri carry the mantle but it just didn't feel the same. They may have a long term plan by having tchalla Jr become the next panther later down the line..

Both should be recast.

Chadwick portrayed Black Panther for several movies, Ray only appeared in 7 episodes of a TV series.

There were several examples of other people taking on the black panther mantle so that made complete sense for them to do. Infact there was a popular run were in fact Shuri became BP.

Deepfake has come a long ways since the first or even last time we saw Luke, along with voice cloning tech. I’d prefer a deepfake as long as they have a talented actor for the performance capture who is also a keen study on Stevenson’s performance.
