@Elijah Jesus specifically states that we are not to give one another titles of teacher, Father, master. Its quite clear. As believers yes we are called to teach and disciple and shepard others for which this is our general function within the body of Christ to built one another up into the fullness of Christ who is the head and to fulfil the great commission but we are not to be referred to by our function. Matthew 28 19-20 refers to all believers are commissioned by our lord to teach, to make disciples aswell as to baptize. Teaching, discipleship, baptizing shepherding etc are what we do as believers not who we are or refered by. Paul referred to himself as “ Paul an Apostle” not “Apostle Paul” Romans 1 vs 1 Corinthians 1 vs 1 2 Corinthians 1 vs 1 Galatians 1 vs 1 Ephesians 1 vs 1 Timothy 1 vs 1 2 Timothy 1 vs 1 Titus 1 vs 1 1 Peter 1 vs 1 2 Peter 1 vs 1 Apostles, Evangelists, prophet's, pastors and teacher (no father) *these are all functions and office's of the body of Christ, one is not more important that the other. 1 Timothy 2-7 2 Timothy 1 - 11 again appointed a preacher, apostle and a teacher (function & office) nothing in referrence to title. Paul wasn't violating Christs teaching by referring to them as “teachers” as you are take these verses out of context. Paul was referring to them by their function and office as he was not under their leadership. Christ is implying that we not refer to our members in the body by their functions. Paul referred to Timothy as his son, are you saying that Timothy is Pauls spiritual Father and not “The Father” as i cant see Timothy referencing Paul as a Father? Again, Paul is a spiritual father as we all can be as believers to those who we disciple, but are we really to be called and refered to as their “Father”?

Warbling Songbird no one should have to shave their beard just because “some get distracted” come on now. That’s like telling a girl with long beautiful hair to chop it off since it’s distracting to look at it.

Juanis oh, I agree. You assumed I felt that the distractor needs to change, far be it. If I were the one easily distracted, that would be my clue as to what to pray about. A weakness I could work on. Now, having said that, I had my eyes opened somewhere in another post to the fact of being the distractor. Some distract on purpose, in a negative manner to start arguments, like trolls. I feel sad for the easily distracted as it means they work so much harder to focus on Christ and his teachings.
