Love seeing laps in the most unexpected cars on The Ring!! I've had two S Class's, one an S55, and they both felt very capable, confidence inspiring, and of course comfortable and pretty zippy, but always heavy. Question Misha, I will come to the Ring with a rental car, anything at all, so what car do you want me to bring for you to take us on a lap? No wrong answer.

These things are way more fun to push hard than people think. I actually prefer Airmatic because it gives you so much body roll that makes you laugh but still remains composed (suspension ensures full tire contact regardless)
I raced several big V8 Mercedes on the track, also an W221 S500L 4matic (no tune (408hp - 4,7L V8 Biturbo)) and I love it. It's fun to show all tiny cars who is the boss. But you have to know that the original brakes become super duper soft which is very dangerous. Had one bad situation where I wanted to stop from 260km/h on the straight into a corner and couldn't... but there was some space for people with a soft brake haha so it worked out. And of course the tires are dying completely. Much faster than with any other car. Especially in the S-Class I had to change brakes and tires every third month just by driving fast on regular country side roads.
Funny seeing the e92 M3 overtake the S class so easy! I own both this models ( S600 V12TT and E92 M3 ) it just shows that the e92 M3 shines on a track and the S class is pure luxury with plenty of power but not made for a track. I always wondered what an S class would be like on a track and now I know 😁
Was on a visit at the Warsaw Supercar Club last week, Russian bloke from Moscow had a GAD tuned W221 that supposedly makes 1200+ HP and 1350nm torque with upgraded chassis, gearbox, engine, and recalculated geometry
This car + 4 passengers and you are saying „so easily“? I smell fanboyism here... If anything then the difference was too small. And the m3 probably had semi slicks or slicks aswell.
That thing is cool talk about riding comfy and quiet. Would love to see another lap but with the ability to change the gears. I think it would be awesome with a couple of tweaks. That thing is the mullet of cars business Monday through Friday and party on the weekends.
Okay Misha that was a hoot of a lap, I've never tracked my daily '07 AMG S65 but damn that looked hella fun, I've had mine tweeked a bit so it's a little louder with a bit more power, so it's a big comfortable car that occasionally scares the f..k out of other drivers & passengers, Rj in Oz
you can fix the gearbox issue quite easy. I assume you hit the torque limiter. Overall very unusual but great lap. Never considered to take my a class to the ring. Interesting
obviously fun, but just shows that a) luxury cars just get outdated and lose value so fast and b) more weight needs more breaks, power and tires so light is king for the ring
Its a 6 k lb luxury sedan and it drives almost as good as a race car im sorry but s class will always be the pinical for me these cars are truly the best in the world
Idk if the owner is reading the comments but you sir need to get valved exhaust if you go aftermarket. That way you can truly hear the exhaust when desirable and not be worried about blowing the execs eardrums out if you have to merge quickly.
is that the one where you press button and it opens the valves n its loud as f, and then press it again if u want it to go silent? i think my mate had that on his wrx, pressed something on dash and u can hear the xhuaust lol then press it again ie if cops go past and the car goes dead silent lmfao

Thats why they built it that way the car will do anything to assist you in doing what you are trying to up to what it can manage and will also do what it must to prevent catastrophic damage thats why it's built the way it is it intended to be one the best tools in the world for driving so even in a 2 ton machine you get almost performance car performance while abuse os not preferred the car will do everything to assist you while operating and this about sums up Mercedes attitude. Never sell a Mercedes i sold a 20 yo s class and ild give anything to have it back
