The things you learn... Great review! I wear scleral lenses for 16 hours a day as my contacts are medically necessary and they always get foggy and gritty. Will look into this new tool. Thanks for the review!

Yes - foggy is a good description. What I like is that with the daily cleaning cycle, you could literally take 25 minutes (that’s how long mine take) and have clean lenses. You don’t have to wait 6 hours like with normal solutions.

Alddyn - take note that this model shown is only for soft contact lenses, not the RGP scleral. They also make a model for scleral lenses but the cost of that machine is about $240. I have contacted the manufacturer about getting a unit and will have something online about it if I do get a unit.

What about little dust that sticks to the contacts and sometimes see these dusts particles when you wear the contacts? Does it clean that ?

I’ve been using it for a few months the and it cleans everything. The trick is to make sure you rinse thoroughly before you put them in your eyes.

Are there any parts to replace. I see they sell 1 yr and 2 yr bundles. From what I can tell, you get extra cases but I can't imagine that is really a wear item

Due to the presence of cathode and anode in electrophoresis technology, prolonged cleaning leads to gradual oxidation and consumption of cathodic and anodic materials. This could be the rationale behind their recommendation to replace the capsule every six mon

Interesting. I didn’t notice that about the product. I do notice that at least once a week, I have to clean off the capsule or else sediment collects (perhaps salt?) and the connections aren’t made. But it’s just a matter of rinsing and drying.

I use a regular multi-purpose solution.

@@Allthingsfadra Don't the instructions call for using NACL solution, otherwise known as saline solution? The electropherisis depends on the salinity of the solution for the chemical reaction which separates the protein from the contact, as well as kill bacteria, from their literature. In any case, I've had mine for a few weeks and find it very effective. My eyes are no longer dry and tired at the end of the day. The deoxygenation really seems to work.

@@jasonbig1353 I am still using it. Before using this device my contacts would dry out and be very uncomfortable some time before dinner time. Since using this device my contacts are comfortable until I take them out at bed time. No complaints about it at all and it's been worthwhile for me. Fadra's point below about rinsing is critical to the process. You don't have to rub, but you do have to rinse off the proteins and contaminates that have been dislodged by the treatment.

@@jasonbig1353 Sorry, just noticed this query. Yes I am still using it and it's working well. My eyes don't dry out before the end of the day as they used to.
