In this video, I am discussing why Riku could see the Keyhole of Destiny Islands, but Sora could not, in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. This video will provide a better understanding of the Kingdom Hearts lore and clarify a somewhat vague element of the KH I FM story.

Finally someone answering the actually important questions. The one I really need to know is how the fuck Kairi’s bottle letter got to the realm of darkness and where the hell the door the light came from it just popped into existence and no one ever questions it

It's softly answered some worlds, items even concepts can bleed into other places as long as there's a strong connection. Example being traverse town being naturally close to the dark realm so people end up there as refugees or the sleeping world concept. So something like a bottle letter slipped into the dark realm case of there strong connection is not that far fetch given the other things that happens on the daily 😅

@@TTN2509 I don’t think there’s any evidence of that I know of, I know the whole thing is meant to be symbolic but the in universe reasoning is another reason why the kh story gets very messy even though I still like it

That's exactly what I feel what's going on there. And remember when Sora went to save Aqua. He found the Master's Defender on the shores of Destiny Islands. And where did he end up once he used it on the door that led to the world's heart? Right where he was at the end of KH2.

What I wanna know is how Kairi and Axel trained in the KH equivalent to the hyperbolic time chamber (“we’re training in a magic place where time is irrelevant”), and she still came out being as useless as ever 😂😂

I do agree that over all, it's not too bad to understand. But for me it's things that they ret conned or hadn't fully thought out yet that can make it confusing. One thing is how they've used the term "keyblade master" and how the title has grown to mean more and changed meaning, and that's only one example 😂

Agreed, like back when 3 was sleighted to come out I marathoned them all for first time and.. it was not confusing.. I think it's just many people only vaguely played a few of them once over the years or just couldn't play some.. since they were on all kinds of consoles.. and the ones replayed a lot seem to be 1 and 2 so those are the stories most familiar to people and then they see summaries of the others and are like "oh it's totally confusing" because if you jump from 1 to like.. Days or DDD of course you're gonna be confused, you haven't seen all the in-between stuff

I had no issues understanding the story until DDD. The time travel aspect and sleeping worlds and power of waking all were hard for me to grasp.

@@raunjisto2925this. They could have epxlained it better. Even when it did, I felt like there was another game im missing btween Dream drop. It doesnt help I didnt finish all of Unchained X. 😢 mobile game and story ending. Nevermind… Dark road.

Technically Sora did get his inheritance ceremony in three when Xehanort passed tbe X-blade to him.

Makes sense up to a point. Sora is in the secret place after inheriting Riku's Keyblade where Kairi stands. The keyhole is not visible, intact or broken, from Sora's view. And then the door gave Sora the weirdest Heart surgery ever.

Ventus’s heart was inside Sora, so when Sora became a Heartless, his Nobody took on Ventus’s appearance. And coincidentally, Sora and Ventus look similar to each other.

@christianjesoo6674 In the opening of BbS, Ventus’s heart was fractured and incomplete, and he was brought to Destiny Islands by Xehanort to fade away in peace. At that time, Ventus’s heart connected with Sora’s newborn heart, which shared a portion of itself to make Ventus’s heart whole again, saving him. Because Vanitas is connected to Ventus, he was affected by this interaction, and he took on Sora’s appearance.

Something that Ven gave Roxas tho is the ability to use Reversal in the beginning of Twilight Town as we see Ven obtain that exact ability in his visit to Radient Garden

You could say that Roxas inherited Vens appearance, but Sora's essentially just the middleman in that, he didn't himself inherit anything from them.

Actually he looks like both sora and ven. He has sora’s face and body, and Ven’s hair( possibly his eyes too). His skin is also slightly more tan then Ven’s, but lighter than sora’s

The Keyblade that Sora uses belonged to Riku from the beginning. This Keyblade temporarily recognized Sora as its wielder at the beginning of KH I, and Riku took it back later on. Shortly after, this Keyblade formally chose Sora as its owner, and it officially became Sora’s Keyblade.

So that's why in kingdom heart 1 destiny Island fell into darkness, with the keyhole being unlocked the door spilled the darkness out of the island

To clarify, the Keyholes are normally unlocked, but the doors themselves are sealed. Only Keyblade wielders or Heartless can open them.

Damn almost like everything after 2 is overwritten and it was way better thematically that in 1 the keyblade saw Riku as a better candidate until he went to the darkness for power, and it went to Sora as a temporary replacement until he proved himself actually worthy of it over the course of the game

Doesn't that throw a big wrench in the whole the keyblade didn't go to riku because he was getting take by darkness also we have seen keyblades made for dark users before so why didn't one of them go to him at that moment instead

According to an ultimania guidebook statement, the official explanation for Sora getting Riku’s Keyblade at the beginning of KH I is as follows: The Keyblade was summoned in response to Riku’s heart, but in that moment, the Keyblade reacted to Sora’s heart as he was trying to save Riku from the darkness that surrounded him. This caused the Keyblade to temporarily recognize Sora as its wielder until Riku took it back in Hollow Bastion later on. A lot of people think that Ventus was the reason that Sora could use the Keyblade at first, but as far as I can find, there’s no official material that supports that.

Did you try to put the fact oathkeeper was in kh1 BEFORE roxas was ever created? Roxas inheritated that from sora. Same with oblivion.

That has nothing to do with why he saw the keyhole... In KH1 there is no such thing as a keyboard inheritance. That wasn't a thing for another 10 years Don't make up in world reasons for dramatic irony. The camera showed the keyhole so the audience could see it had nothing to do with riku or sora

@aroccoification It’s not a retcon. It was stated in the KH I guidebooks that Sora couldn’t see the Keyhole of that door, but Riku could. That’s why Riku stopped and stared at it. The Keyblade inheritance ceremony just explained why Riku could see it.

Originally, it was stated that Riku could see the Keyhole because he was the original Keyblade wielder. The ceremony explains the reason why he was the original Keyblade wielder. It doesn’t change anything. So, not a retcon. But once again, believe what you wish.

What I think is the door itself being visible to sora and kairi is what sora and kairi got from ventus and aqua. Riku can see the keyhole because unlike his friends he doesn't have a slight connection to a keyblade but one that is lined up for him ready. I mean sora ,riku and kairi were the only ones who mentioned the door or seemed aware of it (along with the others who are from other worlds) so perhaps we are asking the wrong question. Maybe we should ask if this is an isolated incident. Are there other things keyblade wielders can see others cannot and also the inverse could be true aswell, where non wielders can see some stuff others cannot. I mean it doesn't make sense for it to only go one way

Trying to make it simple, basically riku's heart was weakened at the time and the keyblade that hadn't been awakened yet by riku decided to go to sora who had a much stronger heart at that point

That’s incorrect. The phrase Tarzan said meant friends within the heart, not heart of the world. Also, Keyholes are normally invisible to all, except Keyblade wielders, until they’re revealed with a Keyblade or other means. Tarzan only saw the Keyhole once it was revealed.

Didn't sora touch one of the original three keyblade? It wasn't a ceremony but a kid just touching something he sees, so it counts on a technicality. Isn't that why Sora could watch over Ventus?

@@jaycarrillojc ya, it was kairi. If I remember correctly, aqua thought of doing the ceremony with sora but she was reluctant because of what happened with her friends. She didn't want them to suffer to same fate... only for kairi to get it accidentaly lol. Sora was never meant to get the keyblade. Atleast not like the others. Riku's heart weakened and thus the keyblade choose to go with sora for the time being. This is why riku could steal the keyblade back in hollow bastion since he was who was supposed to wield it. Sora could ultimately become the real master of the keyblade while riku got his own in castle oblivion(or was it after days? I can't remember)

No, Sora never touched a keyblade prior to KH1. Aqua was going to do the ceremony with him, but after sensing that Terra had already done it with Riku she decided against it, saying that two friends with Keyblades may inevitably lead them to conflict as she was pretty down about her relationships with her Keyblade-wielding friends at the time, Terra in particular. All she tells Sora is that if he ever feels that Riku is going down the wrong path that he should do his best to set him straight.

Sora awakened the ability to duel wield because Ventus’s heart was inside him, yes. But Ventus himself is not able to duel wield, so it’s not an ability that Ventus passed down to Sora. Also, it’s unclear whether the second Keyblade that Sora summons is actually Ventus’s. I haven’t found any confirmation on that.

@aoto8897 Ehh, Vens heart being there MIGHT have helped Sora unlock the power, but even after Ven's heart is back in his own body Sora can still dual wield and Ven still can't. Some things are pretty nebulous like that, I just like to think that Sora's ability to forge strong connections with others allows his heart to essentially manifest two keyblades even without an extra heart to power it, albeit for a limited time. You could even use that as an explanation for why he can swap between different keyblades in KH3. After all, it's Kingdom Hearts. If you ever wondering how 'some character was actually able to do X', it's safe to say it's through some variation of 'strength of heart/bonds/connections/etc' as a good enough coverall answer.

@@NN-ge2wf honestly, ven getting his heart back, sora and roxas (in direct relation) should NOT be able to duel wield anymore. But it's kingdom hearts, so some of that stuff you just let slide.

Riku was also a year older and from what I remember he only touched the keyblades of Aqua I don't believe she did the ceremony with him.

Aqua didn't do any ceremony to Sora and Riku but she did talk to the boys and task Riku to protect his friend. Aqua cast her power to Kairi and Terra was the one did the ceremony to riku and that was in this video. "In your hands take this key" something like that what terra told to riku.

Aqua notice that one of the boys have receive a power and so she didn't bother. she only tells riku to protect his friends for any danger i'm certain of it. Sora wasn't the chosen one and it was even told when riku face sora in hallow bastion on the first game.
