I love working with guys who can barely roof and then theu dont know nothing about siding but they think its easy, to fun to watch

"Cheaper" is where you nailed it. Has nothing to do with being a roofer or sider or whatever. There's lots of contractors who shouldn't do either.

I hired a home exterior company (roofing siding windows doors etc) for a new roof. They have a front of house sales guy, project leader, team leader and subcontractors for labor. The new roof has a new intermittent leak. The subcontractors are long gone so the team leader just had his 2nd try at resolving it. He told he he's more of a siding guy than a roofing guy. Instead of enjoying the security of a new roof, I dread every rainstorm forecast because i don't know if it will leak again

My new roof was installed Friday, this well known roofing company, is bringing in another company to install new siding and gutters, I will be watching! Good video, thanks!

@@trump45and2zig-zags the gutter company has not arrived yet to install the guttering, waiting on that & the back siding to be replaced.

@dmariewalker6880 if the gutter guys know what they're doing, they'll use a level and make sure it has drain to the downspout. Been hanging gutter for 24 years, drain and being under the drip edge are a must! Also 3x4 downspouts are 100% worth the extra cost. Gets rid of twice the volume as 2x3s and helps let leaves pass thru without clogging better.

There a quite a good amount of Russian crews that do siding on the west coast. It's hard to find good siders out here.

Im a roofing subcontractor,been working for the same company for 16years. But i dontlike to get involved on siding jobs. Maybe just small sections but not an entire house were windows dormers are involved.

An aside: insurance companies paying $400-$500/SQ on vinyl siding replacement from hail is egregious. No way you get quality material or workmanship for that.

Ehhhhh. I feel like the thumb tag gives “roofers” a bad name. Construction isn’t rocket science or engineering. Anybody can do anything with the proper tools, basic knowledge and work ethic. You just happened to get a bad crew in general lol

If you don't know how to do it. Don't. Don't even subcontract it, because you don't know how to install it to insure it's done correctly.

Did you sell siding jobs when you owned a roofing company? You should not be generalising. I know some roofing companies who have great siding crews and the owners know a lot about what they are doing.

That does not mean that roofers are doing the siding work. This is about roofers not the company doing siding wo RE k.

Inexperienced ANYONE should not do these projects. One big problem all these people starting roofing companies with very little experience. Our whole industry should be licensed. I like most of your videos but you seem to be coming after and generalizing the roofing industry. So, You recommended this company?

It was directorii listed roofer. He will stick to roofing now lol. But he decided to to siding. Common problem in industry when someone takes on too many trades.
