I remember I watched this show about Maina Sunar and her mother's struggle for justice in TV with my mother when I was very little. I was so scared and traumatized seeing this story in TV and the story my mother told me while watching it. It was so distressing and those stories remained in my mind for days. I have heard myself the same story in Alital-Dadeldhura, where a very simple boy of 14 who had a fever (102 degree- this was told by the family) was dragged out from his bed and shot in his chest by Nepal Army! But Why? The day before, there was a very big attack on the Nepal Army in that region, which the army retaliated with night vision helicopter, but it seems they did not get any significant success! The very next day after the army did their atrocity- the younger sister , just 12 years old joined Maoist army! I have in my work have interviewed people who have suffered from PLA ( Jana Mukti Sena/People's Liberation Army) and NA (Nepal Army) and there are more NP (Nepal Police) and APF( Armed Police Force)! There are people who have suffered from both sides! The atrocities of PLA- cannot be told as informed and so is the case of NA. However, the NP and APF, though supported the NA, they have benefit of the doubt as because during the time when King Gyanendra was the head of the country, they had to obey the Nepal Army (NA) But Maina Sunwar is an emblematic case- any one and anybody who is responsible for her misfortune should suffer, better die (by hanging or gunfire)! There are thousand of Maina (who suffered from Nepal Army and People's Liberation Army-Maoist) One Emblematic case of Maoist atrocities is : archive.nepalitimes.com/news.php?id=16781 Who will speak for Mutinath Adhikari?
