"SCP-682 had somehow freed one of its arms". From the anomaly who is so adaptable it can literally came back from the dead and steal other beings' and objects' power, being able to untie himself was to be expected
For some reason, I find the best part of your comment to be your correctly used apostrophes, lol. But, yes, I would think that 682's restraints would be something like triple titanium chains that kept his front and hind legs bound together (with as little slack as possible)and a titanium collar that was also triple chained to steel loops in the concrete floor of the chamber. I say titanium, but I mean any of the stronger metals. Or, can someone think of a more secure method?
@HalduBouyaNono2 “it can literally came back” is the wrong grammar for that sentence. “It can literally come back” is the write way to write that sentence.
What if SCP-049 was given just a chunk of SCP-682's body to operate on. The doctor might be able get work done before the chunk regenerated into something. It would no longer be 049 trying to kill 682, but it could see be seen if he could cure him, or at least a part of him.
Honestly who wouldn't be terrified about 682. You would be lucky to survive. Also, the fact that Dr. Bright is averse to using a weapon that Dr. Clef would use is something I didn't think I would see. Day 497 of asking the O5 Council to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.
6:45 By technicality, he did before in one of the dimensions he ended up in. Granted, when he returned, any attempt to regain his position were refused, even after sharing information regarding SCPs that were undiscovered and those who were in the process of being contained.
All SCP-049 had to be was faster. So many of these tests would've worked if people were just faster or thought of other countermeasures to delay SCP-682's responses.
But you have to think about many factors here, to 049 what he was looking at was an abomination of a disease he swore his life to destroy, the beast was also smart enough to get an arm out and swing it at 049, this caused him to panic and back up in pure fear. Also, many tests had anomalies that were faster than 682 like 096, yet whenever 096 is in his rage state he can't think, he just kills, so the reason it failed was after he was done, he sustained a lot of injuries and pain which traumatized him and caused him to think about himself and he knew he couldn't beat 682.
But the doctor doesn't know that his touch kills...he sees himself as a real, caring doctor and, therefore, wouldn't rush things...after all, a physician needs to be careful and respectful
Theory: maybe anger is what 049 deems the pestillence because a calming scent like lavender pacifies him and he was very afraid of 682 who is a creature filled with anger
Heya. Out of curiosity, if you gave the “shy guy” a hug and just gave it kind reassuring words, since it is sentient and understands our language as well as our thoughts, could we send in a blind person and have them just talk kindly and hug them, since the human can’t see it and can’t consider that it looks ugly, it could actually possibly work, maybe someone could tame it and give it some care to neutralize it. Maybe care could actually solve the problem, similar to 682, with the care of certain scp’s it was technically neutralized temporarily, perhaps some of the most dangerous scps could actually be solved by kindness and care? I mean it’s been seen done before, so perhaps it could be done again?
@@florantlover5554 Yes but as soon as that blind person felt their face and came to 'see' them in that way it still counts. That blind kid wouldn't live long.
Well not really, although scp 096 is SENTIENT, it ain't SAPIENT. Sentient is a living thing who's able to perceive and feel things, but not necessarily understand it. 096 is that, it acts and reacts upon stimuli, feelings and such, but it doesn't understand more complex things like speech or math for example. Sapience is when a living sentient thing is capable of intelligence and to think, 096 doesn't do that, it's document says that it shows no sign of higher brain function, so a nice talk with an understanding blind dude isn't gonna do squat. I saw some people refer to the blind child from the day break fan story, well even then i don't think it was a decision that 096 made by rational thought. I think it's more that 096 felt a feeling of kinship or family, someone he felt wouldn't hurt him, kind of like how animals work in family packs and shit. Tldr, speaking isn't gonna do anything, you'd need some sort of stimuli that's directly effect 096's feelings themselves so he could feel calmer or happier, like with what 049 did in that one fan story where they cross tested the 2 or 999 with its ability to make anything happy.
@@TheBestAlien damn. I actually thought I was onto something. Guess not, I still believe he could be “tamed” or maybe calmed down from his rage state, but I guess he can’t really be fully tamed to never rage again. Bummer.
610 went into 914 and became The Thing from that John Carpenter movie. Putting 682 into 914 would be far worse for everyone and everything in all of creation.
@@danielwells1734 which makes me want to see it even more. I believe that if scp 682 got inside scp 914 on very fine setting, it’s regenerative healing factor and adaptability would evolve to the point where the lizard would be completely invulnerable to anything and everything.
Since 049 said that 682 is very sick with the pestilence, then it means that the pestilence is actually life. Since class d's are close to dying, they are not infected, but the foundation personnel are infected, because most of them live for many more years. Since 682 is immortal, thats why he said it is very sick. So the pestilence is actually life. (This is what I think, also the most logical answer)
682 isn't a child of the Scarlet King, it's his enemy. It's trying to prevent the Scarlett King from entering its reality by wiping out any species that could potentially bring that about.
@@freezer-monkey I know, I just think it's a fun theory. Truth be told, given the multi-universe model where the SCP Foundation exists, it could very easily be the case :) Of course, that means any and all theories are true as well...in their respective universes.
Maybe the best way to get rid of SCP-682 is to send it home with the others if they can find a way to open a portal to that world, without letting more of them coming to us. And as long as SCP-682 doesn't want or try to come back or with friends.
I think the pestilence is all things inherently negative like hatred, death, fear, lust, greed, poverty, depression, etc...zombies are somewhat neutral and that's why he considers them a decent treatment but not a perfect cure.
Makes me feel like hate, and the pestilence has something in common. Maybe the ones sick have an inner hate for someone or something, and he senses it. For example, a lot of D class are criminals on death row who killed or did horrible crimes. It makes sense he could sense hate. Hate could also be seen as a pestilence because it's such a toxic emotion.
They threw SCP 53 in with SCP 682 ... they actually both got along great :) SCP 208 has also been found to be able to calm down SCP 682 ... They could also use SCP 999, I think.
theory: the pestilence is hatred! i mean, humans are pretty hateful towards each other, certain animals and objects. animals can be hateful too. it could be a possibility? that's just something that i think might be an explanation for the pestilence 🤔
Bruh, when I heard about dr Gears I thought they just put reptile into cog mechanism (forgot name) and put it on rough value and just watch their reptile shot to other universe while they would get some meat and transcendent entity of hatred.
Si far the pestilance is negativity for 049 and with 682 its the extreme pervise versions of both negative and positive which will explain his to extend lobotomy so far cure
I just had a thought Why don't the SCP foundation put Dr Bright's necklace on one of the plague doctor's undead specimen and see how bright feels ín that kind of body
Maybe they should put 682 in a fight with 096, then after that 173, then 106, then 076. Hopefully whatever is left over is small pieces that can be burnt, swept up and dumped in the acid. Hopefully then there will be no chance of him coming back.
Y’all I saw this in another comment section but the commenter said that they should put the little girl (sorry forgot her number) in his containment chamber then he will be docile forever maybe they should try that
i like the fact that each doctor went to scp that match their personalities Gears someone predictable and boring went to safe Brght sometimes crazy and other times know what he doing euclid and clef being unpredictable as ever went to keter
... What if they used the excrement from 734 "The Baby" on either 682 or 610? Anything out of 734 would (in theory) destroy or horribly mane either one. I would say especially 610.
Question: if Clef is on a video call, does his face still change to a random animal? If it Does, my head cannon say it just work like a Snapchat filter. XD
11:02 first i thought wait so fear is not really what 049 was trying to cure was it hate but i noticed no its still fear because 682 is a fear generator
Now, here me out! Maybe 682 is part of a species, that share a hive mind, that was created by the Scarlet king as means of creating chaos in the multiverse.
i believe the pestilence is anger or hate. Then again in SCP-5000 682 is trying to kill all life because it has IT maybe Scp-049 is trying to cure IT aka the Pestilence?
Tbh I'd love to see more of this side of Dr. Bright. Him being unhinged and childish is hilarious, but seeing the researcher when he takes it seriously is just as good.
The test was inconclusive. If the foundation needed to regroup to tackle an issue, they will retreat and discuss the encounter. Considering from the plague doctors POV, it was his first encounter with the beast. The foundation has had how much experience and knowledge in comparison again?
@@theperson4yearsago565 No, he's afraid of 682(kinda, it's not fear but let's just use this word ig), that's Canon, look at the termination logs But you have to understand that SCP explains attempt to branch themselves into the SCP universe, even if they're theories or other stuff that aren't from the wiki are not Canon doesn't mean they don't make sense
I've always had the feeling that the pestilence is not a physical disease, but a tendency towards violence and aggression. Makes sense that 682 would be severely infected. Maybe even patient zero.
@@CreativeWitchArt my theory is the same as the original comment but also with the state of mind of said person Dr. Bright have becoming dissonant from the concept of death due to his technical immortality plus not being pure hatred/evil/violence or having violent tendencies which explains why most d class have the pestilence
Incredible, the dimension hopper visited the native world of SCP-682, this means that the hard to destroy reptile is an ancient monster from a paralel world that got transported somehow on this one.
In another video, it is said that 682 used to be a thriving species until 173 or the koitern massacred their population. The dimension hopper might have visited a place where 173 didn’t massacre 682’s species
Now I started to think that "The Pestilence" is "hatred" since SCP-035 can feel the hatred in SCP-682. About the relation between SCP-049 and SCP-035, SCP-049 is calling SCP-035 "Villain". These 2 SCPs probably have a association from past and have the feeling "The Pestilence" at SCP-682. I think you need to interrogate SCP-049 about the relation between him and SCP-035.
A theory: If the Plague Doctor could touch the afflicted by pestlence heart of the hard to destroy reptile it might cure it somehow with his wraith touch. Basically to do this the reptile must be reduced to a bits of flesh before slowly regenerating and the heart to be intact somewhere in order to be touched properly without any stress or redundancies.
Or cut off a good chunk off of SCP 689 like his heart. And give it to the doctor and tell him it's a heart from a animal. And then you will be able to tell if it works or not.
@@zyntkalla6761 yep, possible, but the Plague Doctor might tell only if doing it, his touch can heal it possibly also because death touch in conjunction with the undead reptile it is something like => ( - ) x ( - ) = + making a possible positive result if he focus his power well enough to match it, but is risky after some level of concentration, because reptile essence tends to adapt. Still worths a try.
there have been instances of 682 to be permanently killed. But they all happen in a XK-class end of the world scenario. basically any phenomenon that can kill the Reptile generally also ends the world lol.
I'm still not seeing how that would help it if we just send it into the sun, even if it somehow escapes the gravity eventually its not doing it for a few hundred million years. Or hell, just send it off into an empty direction in space and see if immortality does anything for it then.
What if they just put 682 in a time machine and send him 1 Trillion years into the future. It would no longer be the problem of the currently living humans and if humanity and the foundation would still exist after such a long time, then they would have 1 trillion years to prepare. And thanks to Dr. Bright they would never forget about its existence.
Yeah but what if 682s adaptation allows him to be able to time travel at will and he could go back in time and destroy the early foundation or prevent it entirely
Idea to kill Scp 682: Use the reality stone from the MCU universe and make it so that it never had the adaptation ability. And it cannot adapt to that bc he will already have lost the ability to do so.( im not sure if it will work tho)
I bet on 682 to overcome the reality stone. He was exposed to something similar before in Russia; an area where anything sentient exposed to the area ceased to exist. He disappeared for like 3 hours then came back just fine.
How about use the reality stone to erase any kind of hate in him and make him a good reptail/lizard and help the foundation to eliminate other threat that would be great but then they will lose one of their best subjects to gain views soo they are never gona try it well its fine I enjoy him being op
What would happen if a regular person tried to complete one of 049’s procedures? Would they make the subject a zombie or would it be different due to their lack of anomalous nature
Idea: What if you put 049 682 and 999 all in a room? With 682 tied and sedated, of course. If 049 got scared, 999 could comfort 049 and maybe 049 could cure 682 successfully?
@@mahapatrasohamm I would be unable to do anything to a creature with no organs and literally made of slime, and with its calming ability I wouldn't think of such thing
SCP-049 would be amazing in the Left 4 Dead games and he'd be happy with having patients running towards him. Also, SCP-076-Able and Jetstream Sam would be a spectacular fight. One more thing, it would be cool to see how SCP-049 and TF2's Medic would interact, given that 049 wants to cure, but kills and Medic wants to kill, but cures.
@@eojamgil -“How do ye cure people, gentleman?” +“I make operations in their chests and I play with their organs. And ye, Doctor?” -“Something like that, Medic. Something like that.”
@@thefinalgrimswald354 Wow, Doom‘s cosmic power syphon absorbed the power of the Beyonder, who has millions of times more power than the entire multiverse.
I think part of the reason the termination attempts fail is due to using tissue samples. As we've seen 682 can reconstitute even after being sliced up. Not only that but the pieces reattach themselves. As such it's reasonable to deduce that it's already adapted.
Some other scps are also afraid of 682, like 096. After their first encounter every time they are put in the same room 096 will just go to a corner and cry while scrathing his own face.
