Why Shohei Ohtani's Unprecedented Deal Benefits the Dodgers 

I can totally understand that point. With all the dodgers moves I really think they can help Ohtani take his time on his recovery and comeback. The amount of pitching they have is insane. He displayed a huge amount of selflessness with his contract he wants to win. But he needs to be great and healthy for it to be worth it on the back end.

@@The_Midwest_Slugger thanks for the response and insight. I’m a casual and have no idea how to construct a pitching lineup, so it’s good to hear they’ve got a lot of pitching talent to back him up! I read yesterday in a recent Japanese interview Ohtani said that he’d be working with the medical and pitching staff to construct the best plan to help ensure he can maintain his two way play for the next 10 years. Let’s hope!!!

No problem thanks for the comment I always try and reply! He will be taking this whole upcoming season to rehab his arm he will only be hitting and he is still very valuable. The Dodgers always have a very good team so he has all the support he needs but you’re right. This is his second surgery so he needs to take his time! He might go down as the greatest to ever play if everything goes right!

The term “re-build” is not in the Guggenheim Ownership’s DNA. Last year was definitely not a re-build but they were super conservative and relatively inactive in the offseason. Despite this, they still won 100 games and in pretty much every major category were the second best team in MLB after the Braves. Yes, postseason is another story. Their ownership group wins in the world of investment and they win in Sports management as well. They are not the Yankees of the early 2000’s. Up until this year, they have not bought the shiniest new player on the market like their neighbors to the south. They develop player, after player after player. Seager, Belli, Buehler, Miller, Gonsolin, May, Ruiz, Outman, Pepiot, Lux….. I can go on and on.

Oh and you have no idea how much money they’re gonna make off Shoei and how much their brand will grow on an international level. The A’s might as well move to Nashville. The new high speed train they’ll build from Vegas to LA will take SoCal people to waste their money in Vegas one way and the other way it’ll be Dodger fans from Vegas going to Dodger stadium. Plus there will a gondola that will take them from the train station straight to the game.
