@@ocnarf40 in school for massage therapy now, but got a lot better at math. Doing some tutor videos. After school, I will be getting my certificate to tutor math.

If you're like me, it could be that you don't learn math like you do other subjects. When I was in school, I excelled at everything except for math. I couldn't do much about it then -- due to lack of technological resources and time. Years later, when I had access to resources and time, I was able to learn, through research, that I'm a visual and conceptual math learner, best served by video. I, for instance, needed to be introduced to the Distributive Property before the standard algorithm of multiplication. Once I understand the mathematical logic and concepts behind what I'm doing, my brain automatically makes connections to the various algorithms one could use to solve a particular kind of problem. I'm also the person that adds to solve a subtraction problem and sees division through the lens of multiplication. Once I figured out how I learned math (and started from the beginning), it became much easier. My brain basically views math as a language (of numbers) -- no different from a traditional spoken or gestural language or even computer language. To me, it's all the same thing. Maybe this is you as well.

That's my biggest problem with school. Once I was done with class, I was essentially done learning the material and I don't remember much of any of what I learned. I got higely better at math in college but now, only a few years later, am about as bad as before I started (not even middle school level).

What book would you recommend? How important is it to learn algebra before real analysis?

@@geddon436 do you mean abstract algebra or algebra like solving equations and so forth? For analysis, I like the book by Terrence Tao.

Nothing worth doing was ever easy. Keep trying. Never give up. Find the grit and drive you need. Plus, if you're working 80+hrs a week, I'd recommend taking a day off to rethink your situation. What can you do to get out of it? Because that's just not a sustainable lifestyle.

You work 80 hour weeks and another 6 hours in the gym while dedicating your weekends to chores? What a shitty life 😭

80h/week is 13.5 hours per day if you work 6 days a week. What is your job? I've never seen someone working that much

you cannot understand algorithms most of them are based on math. I'm also a programmer. as i'm going far in progrmming ,i need to study more math. Right know i'm leanring machine learning i need to know abstract and functional analysis in order to understand theory behind that

@@scientist30 programming doesn't have one thing. Making apps, developing games, making bots etc. Doesn't require high level maths.

@@scientist30 I find programming easier then math. Programming I can apply the logic ik from other concepts whereas with math I feel completely lost since Idk what I'm finding. Programming I can at least make something with a meaningful purpose. Its funny cause you end up applying math concepts you never knew into some of your programs that would take hours of lectures to explain ridiculous.

There are some claims in the RU-vid video : "Greeks and Romans in ancient India" I would have to venture a guess about things like this based on evidence. All of the boating & warfare around the Mediterranean probably contributed to a need for better engineering as well as astronomical calculations. However, at least to a notable extent, ancient India probably had religious dissuasion from extensive extremes in engineering. There is evidence to support this educated guess. And so presumably, the Greeks and others of the Mediterranean developed math in accordance with their predominantly materialistic needs and desires. How much is modern math more for toys & games rather than practical application? How much is modern higher math just a toy to occupy the mind? Thank you
