She actually does have a delusion. In the description of the Funerary Mask that you obtain after defeating Signora, it makes a mention of her Cryo Delusion: "Before the icy Delusion extinguished the flaming tongues that ever gnawed her."

Also here’s a little bit of lore tied to the voice line of “don’t call me a witch!” in her battle. After she turned into liquid flame she returned to Mondstadt, her home nation, to help fend off the monster invasion. After all the monsters were defeated the people did NOT thank her for her help, instead they decided to grab pitch-forks and run her out calling her a witch.

Venti left Mondstat in the hands of the people due to more of personal reasons, and believing that the people should be able to fend for themselves. And as we’ve seen in the webtoon, often times he can lose track of when he sleeps, but often comes back when Mondstat needs him most. Even after the occurrence with the Lawrence family, Venti still wanted to be able to give the people control over their own lives, but still helped to create a system that the people can manage on their own. Venti is an archon that only deals with the divine troubles, and when the calamity occurred, something must have happened to seal him away or to keep him from waking up. Not because he didn’t want to protect the people of Mondstat. Venti is an archon that has walked beside his people from the very beginning, is the only archon to call his people his “children”. I would say that’s much more intimate compared to the other archons who call each of their citizens of their respective nation “the people of x”. While yes, the other archons have offered their guidance, Venti was the first one to place his trust into the people, and I think that goes a long way into showing how much they trust in him as well. Not to mention, Mondstat’s festivals also feel very human centered. Windblume for example, is about taking time to improve your relationship with those in your life that are the most important. The Weinleise fest also emphasized the importance of found family, and celebrating things that are important to you no matter how far you are from home. This hands off approach feels more like a parent teaching their kid to ride a bike. Once they’ve been taught, they’ll eventually let go so that the child can learn more and grow on their own. Besides, even with the calamity, if the people didn’t believe that Barbatos would protect them, they likely wouldn’t have revered him as much and passed down to their children through stories and texts that they were never protected. Mondstat is known as the happiest nation in Teyvat, even though it is not the wealthiest or the strongest. Of course, while I realize that tons of lore is hidden in places of the game that likely takes hours to find, I think it’s probably the main cause for misinformation about Venti. He’s always been kind and gentle, but people degrade his character to being “hurr-durr alcohol guy” without realizing that “Venti” is more of a persona to cover up the benevolence, kindness and mysterious nature of Barbatos.

Venti wasn't calling HER specifically invasive vermin, he was calling the Fatui as a whole invasive vermin. Also on a side note, every time I do her boss fight where her AI becomes bs and she never stops going invulnerable and forcing me to use all the crystals and then die, my response is always "And you wonder why your husband went and died"

Oh, yikes, now do I realize how different the localization for this scene was. So, in CN, Signora doesn't insult Venti as much, she just kind of alludes he's pathetic, her original lines, she just compares Venti to a hamster, she doesn't question him as a god, just says he 'troubled Mondstadt a lot'. Venti doesn't insult her back either, he just corrects her saying "you're not talking about a hamster, you're talking about a rat". After the slap, Signora actually just says "Now it's not your time to talk", less personal and more general. Oh also, after she gets the Gnosis, she actually says something akin to "this thing doesn't compare to my beauty", to which Venti basically calls her being rotten (technically could also be ugly, but rotten in that sense means he's criticizing her as a person rather than superficially). So yeah, localization hit this scene pretty brutally. Apart from that one comment from Venti, there doesn't seem to be anything personal between them. Although Mihoyo's localization team seems to be pretty infamous for butchering up the lore and characterization. My condolences for Signora Mains, I can talk with the Scaramouche Mains to see if we could transfer our Copium supplies to ya'll. We're probably not gonna need them in a couple of months so…

Hellfire Butterfly, talent up material: "The seal of ice was broken under duress, and as her former will surged forth from its pale white prison **and she remembered her old name once more**, the undying butterfly danced amidst burning flesh and blood. **And she remembered her past, wandering the land, spreading the flame, burning away all evil - and she recalled the face of the person she could never meet again**."

I have a theory that Venti actually didn’t care about his gnosis, if you think about it. There were so many ways he could’ve fought back or escaped, yet he didn’t. Even if he didn’t fight back because he didn’t want to cause collateral damage to Mondstadt, he could’ve teleported away, like we saw him do when we first met him. And after his gnosis got stolen, he didn’t seem bothered at all. If he actually cared he would’ve at least tried to get it back. And as we see, none of the other archons we see cared about their gnosis either. It’s not like the gnosis gave Venti his power, he still has control over Anemo after he lost it. So yeah, I don’t think Venti needed or wanted his gnosis anyway.

The coffin was actually just a sign of their respect to Signora, not the actual corpes. But then again there's Signora's moth or butterfly on it so we can still say that she's there. Edit: also... You have a lot of misinformation there. Venti didn't left to "fend" himself, he's in a deep sleep that time so he couldn't do anything about what happened to mondsdadth before and the Venti's roast to Signora is actually a mistranslation because in other languages such as japanese korean and chinese, Venti roasts himself instead of Signora.

But he needed the gnosis gone so he killed two birds with one stone

Nah I don’t think Venti rejected her as a mondstadter. If you noticed, Venti held back a lot in the cutscene and he never really tried to attack signora. His power was used to defend himself and more importantly the traveler and paimon without accidentally destroying the city. The ending tho lmao

During their interaction, Venti was simply pertaining to Signora's delusion or borrowed power, not "rejecting" her as a Mondstadter. Signora was ultimately confident she could beat up Venti that time because she took him by surprise in front of his own church (knowing he can't reveal himself there nor cause any damage) and he looked weaker than she expected. After his "insult", Signora only kicked Venti as a way to show him that her delusion's power is far more superior than what an archon can do. That's exactly the reason why she thought she could take on Raiden after the boss fight, only to be decimated to ashes. After joining the Fatui, Signora didn't really have much recollection of her past life, only during her Crimson Witch phase would she be haunted by those memories (as expressed during her boss fight). So their interaction during that scene was purely out of power tripping, not out of past drama.

At the time of Rostam’s death, Venti was fighting a giant dragon that was destroying Mondstadt. How is that “leaving it to fend for itself”? Signora knew what she was getting into when she got into a relationship with a knight. It was literally his duty to fight for Mondstadt. His death was always a possibility. Also, she didn’t even remember Rostam when she kicked Venti. She was just being a dick.

When Archons fight, their hair glows. Venti's hair didn't glow for even a second. He probably knew about Signora's pain and thus didn't fight back, instead even trying to piss her off so she vents her anger out on him. Also the oldest archons, Venti and Zhongli probably know something, which is why they're almost willing to get their gnoses taken away so easily, they might know what the Tsaritsa is up to and secretly support it.

Venti didn't actually say that in the original, it was heavily butchered with translations for both Venti AND Signora's part. They didn't argue. They didn't insult. The translaters put their own opinions into it and butchered it, Venti never disgraced her as a Mondstadter. And besides, it's HEAVILY implied that Venti didn't leave the country to itself of his own volition, he was forced to go by Celestia as the gods mostly couldn't leave, but Venti was forced to because he had the weakest will to manipulate what with the sleeping constantly on him.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see you become the villain. But this time ita, you either let bygones be bygones ,accept reality and move on or let your own anger accumulate, your mind descends into madness and you turn yourself into a being of pure evil.
