It actually makes sense why Bad Breath was never a real Skylander, because when Persephone upgrades skylanders, it always leaves them with minty fresh breath
When I watched skylanders academy, I was originally just watching it as a joke and was expecting for it to be just a cheesy kid show, and the only reason I watched it was because, well, I liked skylanders, and well it was ALOT BETTER than what I was expecting. And yes, while I did make fun of it for being cringy and stupid, I somehow came out really liking it. I felt like almost nothing was gained and was super childish, but it had its good moments. The second season was solid funny but was kinda meh. But the THIRD SEASON, I literally rewatched it three times. The third season had the best of everything, and definantly was the best season. A pattern I realized was the more the series went on, the better it got, which makes me really wonder what another season could’ve been like. In conclusion, I came in expecting a bad show, and was pleasantly surprised.
I think academy would’ve worked if it came out around swap force and trap team And I like how a few of the voice actors return and rip to norm McDonald the voice actor to glumshanks he did a really good job
I literally didn't expect anything from the show and I end up liking it. The acting, humor, characters and the plot (which sadly will never have a conclusion because the show got cancelled) made this an enjoyable expirience. Is not Carmen Sandiego or Bojack but the show does his job.
I watched episodes of Skylanders Academy and I think it is a great way to not just "bring your Skylander to life," it also shows some backstory to some of the Skylanders you play as in the games. You also see Skylanders from the entire franchise interact with each other. It is one of the best kid shows based on games I have ever seen. I hope they make more games for Skylanders and maybe a sequel show of Skylanders Academy.
Seasons ranked 3. Season 3: Most of the episodes were basically filler episodes, maybe if they ended the Dark Spyro arc earlier there would be more set up to the finale 2. Season 1: it was a good way to start the show but I think the action was the weakest in this season 1. Season 2: We got a lot more characters and saw some returning characters, its mainly the story is the reason why I like it, the different point of views and the characters goals.
Glad to see you back for season 2!!! Gill Grunt should have been in the show along with Chop Chop and Trigger Happy, they could have been main characters! R.I.P. to the Glumshanks actor!
I used to watch this show when it came out because I am a fan of the game series (had the games when they came out as well) and looking back at the series brings back nostalgia I hope we see skylanders continue in some form in the future
I wanted more storylines referencing or using what the previous games,like no swap force or giant gimmick landers were introduced,they only mention it once in the previous episode,I know they probably wanted to focus on spyro more but they still could have had a cameo or something. I also wanted this series to give us more insight on skylander lore,yes I know it takes place in another universe from the main games but that doesn’t mean they can’t do it.and the fact that they made Flynn into a living meme is just horrible,but overall,it’s a good show, just don’t feel like it’s a skylander one
jet vac does have some funny scenes, such as in season 3, i believe episode 3, there was a riddle saying, "what goes away when it is said," jet vac's answer is "my dad?"
I'm mostly into the show because of the character interactions (my favorite characters are the cadets, as it has both me and my sister's favorite skylanders in the group, those being Wind Up and Roller Brawl respectively. As well as a few other great characters from the games)
I really do enjoy this show. It's really what reinforced my love for Skylanders and reminded me why I love it so much. It isn't perfect, but what it is is a fun and enjoyable ride for Skylanders fans. All the characters and comedy aspects of the show was blast and while the story was a bit shoved to the side in some cases it's still enjoyable. It's a shame it was cancelled before it could give us more insight on Spyro's special heritage in season 4, but who knows? Maybe one day we'll get to see that. But until then we can only speculate and imagine what a season 4 of Skylanders Academy would've been if it wasn't cancelled. Like Spyro said... or spelled in the sky, "Skylanders Forever!"
Skylanders Academy was what kinda got me back into Skylanders back in 2018 (even though late 2021 was when I fully got back into Skylanders). I quite enjoyed the show and it was pretty good, but I feel that it had quite a lot of mispotential and misopportunities in my opinion. Characters like Gill Grunt, Terrafin, and Drobot would’ve honestly fit really well as main characters or supporting characters, and same thing with villains like Dr Krankcase would fit well for the show. I’ll admit that some moments were pretty corny, cringy, and dragged out for a while which made it boring at some points. It’s unfortunate that it got canceled after season 3 because I feel like season 4 would’ve been just as story driven as season 3. I’m aware that there were budget constraints but Activision was a billion dollar company (before Microsoft bought them recently) so idk how expensive the show was to make. I liked the show, but it could’ve been better in my opinion.
They ruined my homie Broccoli Guy, I think that let alone means that this show scores in the negatives on rotten tomatoes. If the Brocc isn't ready to rock, then I'm gonna throw this show off a dock.... with a anchor attached. Good riddance.

Dark spyro in my opinion is peak Skylanders Academy in turns of story. It has many good moments, tense moments, and ive been thinking of making my first video ever on him. They really thought everything out when it came to his story amd character in late season 2 - season 3
Personally I really enjoy the series I recently rewatched the whole thing the only problem I still have with it is that glumshakes wasn't voiced by his game actor
Personally I think this might be my favorite Netflix og I remember when season 2 was coming out and that whole week I watched the season 2 trailer to try and piece together the story and the when it did come out I watched it all the night it came out I also love the fact that Eon is a spirit.I think this is the best cast of anything Skylanders and sometimes I like to think of it as a prequel or soft reboot
Every time I see Skylanders Spyro in this show, I always think “WHY WASN’T THIS THE MAIN DESIGN IN THE MAIN GAMES?!” He looks absolutely adorable in this version! I wish the show elaborated more on the Legendary counterparts of Skylanders like Spyro because that always intrigued me to how they came to be, even when I haven’t went past the first game. Like, was it a separate counterpart or the same character, but in a powered up form, maybe hinting connections to his Dragon heritage? I don’t think the series went far enough to touch on that, and it frustrates me 😭 Edit: I checked the wiki and it said this: “For centuries, Skylanders have competed in gladiator-style events inside epic arenas of sport, where only the greatest of combatants become immortalized as magical, golden statues that stand watch as guardians.” Sooo, Spyro had an ancestor who happened to be identical, or previous incarnation or…?
Theroy I think skylanders academy is a prequel to spyro the dragon because at the end of it spyro goes to his relatives he could go to the original spyro games because spyro is just a kid in academy and I an adult in the original spyro game
@@Codyb4me I think some of them are teens and some of them are adults We know at that sensei’s are adults because they train Skylanders The Giants are like 1000 years old and sonic boom has kids which means she’s an adult all the others are unknown
I do wish Skylanders Academy was Canon to the games its a big missed opportunity like make it a prequel show Word ran into more depth in characters in Skylanders so then when you replay the games do you rethink the events of the show

Honestly, I think what would've made things a bit better for Stealth Elf would have Drill Sergeant as a recurring side character, as him and Stealth Elf already have a dynamic, even if it isn't exactly the best.
This video is years old, two years as of typing, but I just want to say that the one thing I didn't like about the ending was getting rid of Dark Spyro. I know why they had to defeat Spyro's dark side, but I personally felt like Dark Spyro earned his right to exist. I would have liked to have Dark Spyro try to tell the others to stop Choas from getting to Strykore before it's too late, but is ignored. Then once Dark Spyro and Spyro separate, Dark Spyro hears how the people he called his friends didn't care for him at all but just caring about non dark Spyro; relating to how he now views all the risk and sacrifices he made for the Skylanders to be absolute torture that left him with nothing. Who knows, maybe at the end Dark Spyro can be a new student at the academy starting fresh.
Looking back now, Academy SLAPPED in all those categories. Though i felt like Stealth Elf was more of a grounding type character, like she holds the group together and knocks some reality into them.
It isn't. I guess it wasn't trying to be that, but it could've used the story of Giants and become a much more interesting series with a more mature storyline. It is just a kids show
The best episodes were the ones, where they literaly copied the story of tlos or parts of it. not a fan of skylanders but i appreciate the redesign of spyro in the series. Much better what skylanders (the game) came up.
To the people who want this franchise back with the Microsoft purchase of Activision, there are two reasons why that may not happen. 1) Spyro has his original game series back and 2) Norm McDonald is dead.
I just wish they used more Skylanders aside from the cores, I’d have loved to see more characters from Swappers, Trap Team (not too bad), Superchargers, and Giants.
I love the show but i have some critic first: its weird that kaos couldnt spawn his minions like in ssa or si second: they did nothing with the giants story i mean yes the giants were "banished" to the earth but we also saw ninjinni so it doesnt realy make sense that it wasnt even mentioned in one of the classes that the skylander take third: they didnt do an beach episode with stealth elf fourth: Buzz wasnt even mentioned even though he is literally the Skylander trainer fifth: the swap force wasnt even mentioned or seen in the ENTIRE show and that doesnt make sense bc of the fact that swap force was one of the most popular skylander title sixth: WHERE were the rest of the doomlander i mean Brokoli guy is in the show but dr krankcase wasnt even mentioned
You’re entitled to your opinion but so am I so I’m gunna say it. I watched it all when it first came out and I can’t agree in the slightest. It felt like a run of the mill mid 2010s show with barely any creativity. It misunderstood the entire point of skylanders too which is that no particular skylander is the main character, they’re all on equal footing aside from the gimmick-landers maybe. Gill grunt and trigger happy not being in the show is one thing but having Spyro, not even originally a skylander be that main skylander? There’s a lot more issues I have with the show but I feel like there’s no need to mention more.
Yeah that’s many of skylanders Academys missed opportunities and I think the reason why they made the main characters be Spyro, jet fac, pop flix, stealth elf and epuptor was because they wanted Imaginators to sell more.
Hey if you think about it Skylanders is the first good video game adaptation (not including the Pokémon anime maybe) so that means Skylanders had the first good video game adaptation in history
I watched it like, idk when years ago, I was kinda young (still a minor) and I've always loved it. Yeah, it's not canon to the games, but I still like it.
I find it odd that they decided to replace krankcase with broccoli guy as the 6th doom raider and they didn’t even keep his original voice and personality which I kinda liked. And Krankcase could given a lot more material for the doom raiders to work with and make them seem like a genuine threat. Also for a show that had its main villains be based on trap team they showed almost no aspects of it, like there were only 2 trap masters, they didn’t mention traps at all, and Buzz and mags were entirely absent Also Cali wasn’t there! Why would you take her out when she and Flynn could’ve made a great duo? Also Flynn just looked god awful and nothing like any of his game designs, also golden queen looked weird to and kinda lackluster in both design and in personality which is kinda ironic given the character But on a positive note, it’s Spyro design was a lot better than in the game, Norm as Glumshanks was cool (R.I.P. you will be missed), and some scenes were pretty funny
Kinda disagree it's just hard to watch cuz alot of the voice actors changed from the games and kaos is alot weaker in it and it has alot of plot holes when compared to the games But I guess if I didn't have nostalgia for the games it would be watchable That and also Dr krankcase is my favorite character and he didn't show up
U couldn’t show too much of the show because u were worried about copyright then you proceed to play a ton of copyrighted 90’s hip hop. Not complaining those are some of my fav songs I just found it funny
Imagine is Eruptor got mad and attacked Stealth Elf... then Ember would step infront of her to protect her and would say to Eruptor to calm down. He would not so she would one shot Eruptor knocking him out. Then she would leave.
