Happy to see my question get answered 😁 Glad to see that yes, even the higher skill players are also annoyed by constant lobs.

Regarding the cheer after an unforced, that's annoying to watch, especially when Rachel does it all the time, it gets worse when AB and RR both do it in sync because it's extra loud, definitely not necessary after every point. After an intense point, sure There was a time this past Sunday at the PPA womens gold game when Irvine/Pisnik had lost the first 2 games, not looking good, and early in the 3rd game Irvine had 2 great points and she shouted quite loudly after both. Yet they still lost that game and the match. I'd equate it to any other pro team sport being down by a LOT and doing a huge celebration dance when scoring. ALW and CP were already likely to win but as soon as Irvine made her 2 loud cheers, ALW/CP did their own extra loud cheer after winning the next rally to basically say "hey, shut your mouth" and I don't think Irvine cheered after a point again in the match.

Pickleball is VERY cliquey. As a 4.5+ player I still find it very difficult to find advanced players who will let me play with them. They have their little group and don’t care to be challenged in any new way.

I never been to a tournament before. Any idea why I cannot find tickets for the OH SNAP DAYTONA BEACH OPEN on Oct 23-27? The PPA site seems to have links to buy tickets for all tournaments but this one. And one more question... I started playing pickleball last December, and did a beginners class and got hooked. They tough us to touch rackets at the end of a game. I watch Lea Jansen a lot, and notice she skips that part often, not always when she loses a game, but also when she wins them. Is that because she has a bad history with that player? If so, she seems to have bad history with a lot of players.

Regarding the lob question: I personally like to strategically incorporate lobs into my game. In fact, I should probably lob more than I actually do. I just played in a tournament last weekend where the wind was blowing about 20 miles an hour so when we were hitting INTO the wind, I lobbed over our opponents heads a bunch of times with a lot of success. One of the teams we played didn't seem to appreciate the lobbing but, oh well, it was in a tournament, the lob is a legal shot, and it happened to be very effective in those conditions. As far as I am concerned it's fine if people don't like being lobbed. However, as long as the shot your opponent is hitting is legal (regardless of the shot), at the end of the day you just need to get over it and play the game.

keyword: strategic. Some players rely on it every other rally as their default hit and it gets very annoying. Not that it's hard to defend, it's just boring

@@DannyBPlays I hate playing against lobbers, but if it's working for them, then it's on me to hit better overheads. I'm only 62 inches tall and 69 years old, so the strategic thing is pretty much always to lob me. Not sure why I'm not driven out of the game entirely, but many players (at my level) either choose not to lob or cannot actually execute it well enough not to give me an easy put-away one time out of 4.

Lobs are annoying. They’re boring and playing with someone who throws up a lob every other point just isn’t fun. I end up just hitting everything to their partner, which isn’t fun either.

I love playing against people who lob. They are so easy to get to and return effectively. Lob me all day, you will lose and I will have fun. Are they occasionally effective at pushing people back but that rarely works in my experience
