Thank you Thrasher for putting this up, it's a really important message for all of us to hear. please talk to your friends if you're ever going through hard times. and even more importantly, ask your friends how they are coping with they're own pain. a lot of people find it very difficult to open up, and it can be hard for someone to take the first step and share what they're going through. so set this as a challenge for yourself. if you have a friend who you know is going through pain, or just seems slightly off or sad. take them aside and ask them how they are going. don't take "i'm fine" for an answer, because that's what we all say, even when shit is pretty far from fine. so keep asking them, let them know they can be open and honest with you and just help them feel comfortable with telling you what they are going through. small stuff like this really does make a difference, our friends are our family man, we gotta look out for each other. much love everyone.

Deep breaths, i do a few runs , giving people props helps me because their happiness makes me happier. Doing things for others feeds my happiness. I'm really impressed to see this. I have been skateboarding my whole life. With that I have also battled depression my whole life. As I've gotten into my 30's it's gotten worse. I have been on numerous meds for this but I gotta admit I feel I'm losing this struggle. Some of the things John did say were making me think to just don't give up. I send my condolences to John's family for the loss of his sister and I know he was a friend of Ben.

I've never tried to kill myself but I spent many years in the throes of deep depression with recurring thoughts of suicide and how I might have to end it, at least one day. It took a lot of self-exploration, forcing myself to do what was healthy (get outside the house, skate, walk etc) to slowly get myself to a better place. Most importantly it was the people around me who were patient and probably understanding what I was experiencing, staying with me, without making me feel awkward who helped my recovery. I hope we can all be that patient, understanding person for someone else going through their own 24/7 battle.

Skating is one of those things that will open the 3rd eye to so speak. It makes you ask certain questions about life, the meaning of it, the meaning of fun, what you are doing, what you skate for, what you do things you don't enjoy doing for. Most people are in a state of perpetual blissful ignorance because they never really step outside of themselves to speak and attempt to question all of the fundamental principles of their life they have always just taken for granted and never really developed themselves, they just do what their society tells them and aren't even capable of thinking for themselves really.

Just a little on a true Sad Plant... Many have the idea that its the straight front leg that makes it sad. If you go back through the pictures and the one sent by Lance., you will see its the rolled over back foot that makes it sad and gives it the name :-). Also one needs to be able to stall for a good second or 3 to do it properly. Nice vid, and thoughts of those ..
