they bought eurogamer, VG247, rock paper shotgun outright. they have shares in 5 others. the move has resulted in significant layoffs accross these brands.
@@date5960 well it’s supposed to be stronger then PS5 As a PS5 Owner this doesn’t make sense consider Xbox series x is supposed to be more powerful then the PS5 but some games struggles on xbox
Shut up IGN, that check from $ony must have been cashed, huh? Runs better on an inferior machine... that's the people making the game showing their biases. Games should work like this, you buy it, you put it in any machine you want to play it on and it plays, that's the way it should work
Now that IGN holds some shares in DF, DF has been elevated from “the guys at Digital Foundry” to the “the tech expert gods of knowledge and power at Digital Foundry” 😂
"Widely accepted". You mean Digital Foundry and youtubers such as yourself lied to people and advised xbox would be better......before they released. Lolol.
It depends on what screen you're using, which the report clarifies. If you have a VRR-compatible panel, then you're more likely to see a better performance out of a Series X than a PS5 - at least that's been my experience of owning all three
No it doesn't look more vibrant what are some of yall talk? If you talk like that to people with the know how you sound really not smart. In fact Series X is using 40 gigs of hdmi bandwidth and playstation 5 only 32 on xbox you need to set up the colors to 36 bit pc rgb color range playstation doesn't even have that variety it only has "rgb" or limeted while on xbox you have 4 options its a fact. The problem most of the people dont set thier monitor/ tvs/ console right.
What the video failed to mention is that the XSX consumes up to 30% less power while performing very similarly. It's much more efficient. For me, that's very impressive.
The PS5 has a familiar API which game devs are more used with and the console is easier to develop for. Not to mention that there is only 1 PS5 version while game devs are forced to work with 2 Xboxes this gen.
Odds are it’s focus odds are it’s literally 85% focus 15% compatibility for lack of a better word. If you know you’re going to sell 3x it’s been games here then over there. You focus on the platform where most people will see your product. Any company that didn’t do that would be foolish. Yes, I’m sure you can find certain scenarios where this game built this way will function better under this scenario, but in a drag race, you know pedal to the metal drag race no curves no corners one system is clearly more powerful than the other.
@@coachk37 Because it’s obvious why some games are better on Xbox, it’s a more powerful system. There’s no need to state the obvious. It is not obvious at all why some games would be better on PS5 despite the hardware being less capable.
@@AllEyezSee I'm not sure why IGN hates Xbox so much, but it's been hilarious watching the plethora of videos pouring out over the past months. It's honestly pathetic. 😂
Did u even listen to the video or read the title? “Some” games run better on PS5, it’s a situational thing but honestly the difference isn’t very big, both have a similar experience and both runs well We don’t need this diehard fanboy opinion here
Wait are younsaying they are biased towards sony because thats bullcrap they were butthurt that sony disnt sent them a ps5, and praised the series x which they got for free.
Where was digital foundry at when Alan wake 2, Crysis remastered and Dead space all have higher resolution on Xbox? Devs are not taking advantage of Xbox hardware, they only care about the playstation. Digital foundry should acknowledge that, however its likely they are too scared to expose that side of the gaming industry.
@@alex_gaming9585I don't think there's enough of a difference to say one or the other run better. The differences are so minute that you have to have them side-by-side and squint in most cases. The Series X definitely breathes better though so it will stay cooler longer but the PS5 has a liquid cooled CPU. they're just very even
It's not just about the hardware. Optimization matters. A game with sloppy code can run worse on more powerful hardware than a well-optimized game on lesser hardware.
Yup. Thats why Snapchat pictures look better on an iphone even though the Galaxy phones have a way better camera specs wise. Snapchat is just optimized for ios compared to the many different android os available.
@@robf they referred to some games running better not all. Especially when you take in account most games are running at lower resolution on the ps5 vs the sx.
Better vrr saves series x brute force method when it doesn't work btw ps4 version running on ps5 backwards compatability is the most stable console version but ign wont mention that.
The PS5 is better designed. The same CPU clocked slightly faster and a more powerful GPU is not going to make up for the overall much higher throughput of the PS5. That is all.
It’s not even that, majority like they say is because PS5 is the lead platform. Devs put a lot of emphasis on the PS side than Xbox. If devs put the same optimization and care they have to PS, then Xbox would be beating out PS in the performance side left and right. That was in the beginning of the generation though, majority of games coming out now a days the series X beats the PS5 in performance now as tools and knowledge of these current consoles have increased with developers.
With no mid gen upgrade coming from xbox (probably due to low sales) and the ps5 Pro due to be announced this year, expect Sony to come out on top of all the console comparisons.
The non tech answer: ps5 is more popular and has one performance skew - so it’s the version of the game that’s the primary one during development, its most optimized.
In short the PlayStation 5 has a more efficient GPU, lower level API's and Higher clock speeds allowing it to match or even surpass the Xbox's Framerate However the PlayStation has a worse variable refresh rate implementation (ability to show the frames basically) causing jitters or seemingly worse frame rate making the xbox series x still the preferred console with its smoother experience (excluding exclusives)
@@willjohnboy you know you could put this in one comment, right? makes it seem you're spamming besides that there is no context for the first comment, I'm not sure what you are getting at and the mid gen refresh for xbox was confirmed earlier this year and leaked last year, they will certainly release it after playstations to maintain "the most powerful console" title
