honestly the stereotype of not having winter in the South, or at lest in Texas, is way overblown, it's just not comparable to what it's like up north. And over the last several years I have noticed that winter has been getting more harsh, and even had some sporadic snow accumulation here and there. And every few years or so we get a big freeze, this past February was the worst in a long time, but there was also a freeze in 2014, just not as bad.
@@prodigypenn Can’t speak for TX, but lived in AR for the big freeze of ‘08…we were 21 days w/o electricity. Funny thing was we lived about 1/2 mile from a substation…everything from the substation west had electric, those of us on the east side…not so much…the local HS had a generator, so a number of us were cooking meals in the HS for local families to pick up…people were having to get their water from the HS and/or a local spring…it was madness, but the community came together and we all made it…lol!
Mama always said "Never pack away winter clothes until after the Easter cold snap." Also keep out a light jacket. My year round jacket was a navy button down shirt made of heavy cotton; that was part of my dad's old winter Police uniform. I took it to school for the uneven AC distribution.
You can try this if you want but please repent of your sins anyone because Jesus christ died on the cross for you and he payed the wages of sin so all you have to do is srecive it you can do this by saying Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Please do this so you dont have to burn in hell for eternity and if you do this and TRULY belive and have faith you will be saved and whoever belives in him shall not perish but have eternal life with God! John 3:16 says but remember just because God is not responding to your praying does not mean he is not there because God is there all you have to do is seek him and pray because he Adores you and cares about
I'm from the Carolinas but lived a LOT in GA. That is soooo true. The funny thing is I spent a lot of my military time in the Syracuse NY area, where they also have 2 seasons... Winter and August 🤣. The way nothing fun is allowed to happen in Atlanta until it's AT LEAST 90 degrees, in Syracuse they want to do all fun outdoor stuff only if there's snow on the ground. I entered one 5K there...it HAD to be in early March and be lightly snowing. I mean... Heaven forebid it wait until say MAY. It wouldn't be very warm, but AT LEAST it wouldn't be snowing 🤔🙄.
Yeah, well I tell you I live in Wilmington, North Carolina, and in October, there’s NO such thing as 60 degree day weather with fall colors. Daytime October temperatures in Wilmington, are between 76-98 degrees. The highest October nighttime temperature was 85 degrees in 2010!
@Rainbow Sky No problem.. Egg wash, say four eggs for 6-8 slices of bread, the bread being slightly dry. Adding milk just seems to add gumminess as the milk solids curdle with the cooking. A tablespoon of water to 4 eggs mixed into the wash and then a dash of vanilla. No cinnamon in the wash, too much chance of scorching, though it's fine for after pan application. Plain white bread or Texas toast is fine, though I really like what's called "butter bread". If you can get it, slicing up a loaf of Jewish challa works fantastic.
Louisiana I keep telling people it snows in April as half aren't from here, they honestly don't believe it snows or freezes in April. Heck, we finally get fall weather in December. Winter weather we get in Spring. Don't argue with the weather down in the south.
It wasn’t going to be 100% accurate if they didn’t mention possible snow in April. Never put away your winter clothes until the end of April at the earliest.
@@rafaelstephen719 I remember April 10 or 11th, 1996, the day I was supposed to be discharged from just over 1.5 month stay(1month in a coma) in 2 hospitals in Ft Worth after a terrible, multi-vehicle(including 2 semis and 2-3 family vehicles) accident on I-20 just west of Ft. Worth. Had to wait another day due to the snow. Who'd have thought it? Ctm.
That's pretty much because living there in winter is like being waist deep in a jacuzzi built in the usual parking spot of a refrigerated truck with loose back doors.
Louisiana weather: Monday: Alright y’all let’s go to the beach Tuesday: Stay Home order issued in Lafayette Parish due to ice storm. Wednesday: category 4 hurricane approaching Thursday: Hey it finally feels great out here! Thursday Evening: Flood Warning
Summer had me cracking up at the end. Lol Knew it. October can get brutally cold, as well, though. Maybe winter should have thrown one in for October. Lol Summer and Winter playing Tug-o-War with October. That would have been EPIC(and,oh, so true) .
That's more than fall for my family. All the guys who like football(a few prefer baseball due to bad instances) get together almost every saturday at someone's house (mostly my grandma's) and act like it's a superbowl.
Ok here on the west coast ( California ) I ( as a female ) am one of the rare instances of non bipartisan college football allegiance bcoz my family has southern roots in Alabama Louisiana Georgia & Texas so a typical college football day for me is 9am: breakfast 10am-12pm:ACC FOOTBALL 12pm-3pm : PAC 12 football After 3pm : ALL MIGHT GLORIOUS HELL BREAKETH LOOSE ...DONT TXT , EMAIL OR CALL COZ IM WATCHING SEC FOOTBALL ( especially if it's regarding 3 of the 4 states ( sorry I'm only a fan of TEXAS TECH , KANSAS & WEST VIRGINIA ) IF U DO XPECT A DIAL TONE
I was once told that the South was great! It's the only place you can go to step outside and get a breath of fresh air and a drink of water at the same time!
Deanna Crownover A nor'easter and a hurricane aren't quite the same thing. Nor'easters form in colder waters which is why they generally involve snow, they rotate differently, and they hit in the off season of hurricanes. If a hurricane hits the eastern seaboard, it's still a hurricane.
In the mid west we think that the seasons are actually fighting and they try to see who can out do the other, none of the are are that strong so the season changes daily, sometime within the same day. Yesterday it was rainy and 57 to day snow and 29, with flooding thrown in for the fun of it.
Literally today. This morning: thick sheets of ice all over the ground. Heading out to lunch: nice and decent, kinda chilly in the wind but sunny and the ice has melted. Coming back from lunch: Coldish and cloudy, ice has semi re-froze. Off of work: 60 and sunny and can drive with the window down, no ice. One hour after work: cold as balls again, ice is freezing over on the ground, absolutely no sun in the sky.
seasons in ND: January: Freezing cold February: Slightly less freezing cold March: Still cold April: cold, then nice May: nice June: nice, then hot July: hot August: hot September: nice October: nice, then snow, then fall November: cold, but no snow December: freezing cold
A couple decades ago I traveled from Denver to North Dakota, Minot maybe, in the middle of December. The daytime high was below zero. Along the sidewalk in front of the hotel, in front of every parking spot, were poles with electrical outlets for people to plug in their car's block heater. One poor guy in a Mercedes diesel was trying to start his car with gelled diesel fuel. He might still be trying to start his car today. I wouldn't want to do that again, but I have the bragging rights of experiencing a North Dakota winter.
Annie Bananee I was thinking, wait a minute. 60? In October? With no humidity? Not here in this corner of the South! Then the real ending happened perfectly.
I got pissed. After last year, I want Summer to get the fuck out in September, and take his motherfucking ass to Australia for the rest of the goddamn year. I am from Georgia. 2018 was the worst.
Mr. Moseby, a few years back we had an EF5 tornado outside of my school, it was 47°, when we left cover, we looked outside, the temperature was 70°, and it was sunny, with a few clouds here and there.
@@epistte try 35° in the am with sleet then 60° at noon with clouds and high wind but 85° 90% humidity and no wind the rest of the day even into the night. That's Texas weather what you described is just normal winter weather.
@@CaesarInVa when i was in houston it was quite pleasant. it snowed as we got into town but quickly warmed to about 70 the rest of the time i was there. this was in jan and feb 1982.
I was hoping he would get told to tone things down in Chicago after his remark. I would've loved to see a flippant response or him not even listening and pretending he heard her with a "Yeah, yeah, I'll get right on it."
I was thinking fall was way out of line. Everyone who lives in the South knows September and October are nearly as hot as July and August. I live near The Smokies and we run the AC from April til November
november thats cute. no clue this year but last year we ran them till january do you know how bad it sucks having christmas in shorts? howdy from texas.
This could not be more true!!! One of my most favorite videos y’all have made❤️❤️ The south’s weather is the most random thing ever. It’s gotta get its weather together😂😂
Here in sunny Harrogate UK 🇬🇧 our weather is completely random. It’s either: raining, it’s just rained, it’s going to rain or “it was snowing but now it’s raining again”. If the sun ever came out we would burst into flames.
In the South- Winter: 40 degrees In the South- Summer: (Basically April, to October) 90 Degrees And don’t forget about tornadoes all April, May, and June! This is the definition of the South
The last second OutKast reference was the cherry on top. There is a false beginning of Fall right about now at the tail end of Sept. into Oct., then a blazing heat wave like the week before Halloween, and then summer finally relents.
@@MIHI_by_Grace Southwest will pull that on occasion too, just not every year. This year, I remember we had Spring conditions, then a sudden snow in March on a Monday and Tuesday when we barely had any all winter, then by Friday, it was up to 70. The benefit for places like New Mexico is we don't fight with the humidity.
Roll Tide Roll Yup! Lol Alabama weather changes on a day to day basis! I could walk out side in shorts and a tee shirt yesterday but today I needed my Eskimo coat from Bass Pro 😂
I'll never forget my 20th birthday.....April 21, 2008.....we had all four seasons that day, including a dustin' of snow. This was in Amarillo, TX. Our weather is crazy!
I remember visiting family in Florida one winter and my aunt breaking out this heavy Christmas sweater because it had dropped to the low 60s while us Washingtonians were walking around in shorts and flip flops. 🤣🤣
Puerto Rico be like: Yo, you like *SUN?* Us: no Puerto Rico: yeah, it’s all gonna be Sun, and some hurricanes occasionally, some days of sleeping without a fan, and that’s it. HAVE FUN
Here in Kentucky this is quite true. There are some weeks when we get to experience each of the different seasons in the span of one week. We always say, "If you don't like the weather, stick around it will change soon."
Except in summer, when it’s just miserable regardless of if it’s raining or not. I don’t understand how it can be 100% humidity like the whole time. We’re not fish!!! I get why rich people used to flee to the north in the summer; it’s just horrific. I’m in your southern neighbor, TN, but I lived on the KY/TN border for most of my life. Gah it really is unreasonable!
Right now in Georgia you go through every season in one day. Wake up to freezing winter, sweet in the summer sun at noon, and feel slightly chilly in the evening. Well, as long as a monsoon isn't randomly passing over and half the county looses power.
@@84Tacos I KNOW! Just in the last few weeks I've had three cousins(that all live in different areas) that had to bunker down and wait out tornado watches. From the forecasts March is going to be hell too.
I just wanted to say that I am thankful for this channel. With the massive influx of people from other areas, it is nice to have a channel that celebrates our culture.
Spring and nonstop pollen has already started in Georgia, and it's not even midway through February 😭 God bless us. Edit: Oh, AND we had tornado warnings today and yesterday.
Every time you post a video I always say "OMG that is the most accurate thing ever". But then you make another and that video is even MORE accurate! Y'ALL NAIL IT EVERY TIME!!!! Love y'all so much
Oh same here! Last week, didn't bother turning on the heat was already wearing the summer clothes again, this week? What the hell is this 20 degrees stuck in there? This is why I don't bother putting away seasonal clothes.
Warner Robins here. Last time I was there (my dad is stationed at Robins and I live in Phoenix) was in March and we had ALL FOUR SEASONS IN THE DAY. It happened in PHX a few weeks back too!
And this is why I will leave a jacket, a rain AND sun umbrella, winter gloves, and 3 pairs of sunglasses in my car. No matter what it says on my weather app, I've lived in North Carolina long enough to know that the weather will flip the switch real quick!
Omg!!! I absolutely L❤️VE this channel!!! It is soo hilarious and so true y’all!!! The think of the most hysterical video ideas!! I just love this channel sooo much!!!
About the same here in Louisiana. Winter come in late December early January. Only stays cold for a couple weeks and then back to the normal hot days. You may get a couple cold spells in October to give you hope but its quickly dashed. Other than that, hotter than hell, pollen in the spring, and rain. Also hurricane parties in august or September. Usually September.
Summer taking over October is accurate 😆 nothin' like watching people at a Ga pumpkin patch sweating through their orange flannel shirts, jeans and boots taking their family pictures. 😆 it's miserable
yup. southern summer is from kinda-april through october. fall is from november to december and winter is january through march. we only get like two spring weather days but all the pollen
This year winter arrived in October in Atlanta and had the nerve to stay ... the past two weeks in early February have been more like what we're used to- 50 to 80 degrees. Although February is usually the coldest month..
I love when she gets excited about a few snow flakes at 0:40. In Texas we get all crazy when any kind of frozen precipitation falls, we really do! I live in Houston and when we get snowflakes or a little accumulation of snow the city goes into panic mode and shuts the darned city down. On the other hand in the summer time life goes on as normal when it's 105 degrees with a heat index of 115 degrees. It's crazy.
I was struggling with gardening when I first moved to Houston. Then I saw a lady on the news talking about how our "Spring" and "Fall" are other people's Summer. So you plant all your hot weather crops then. And our "Winter" is other people's Spring & Fall. Now the gardening is going a lot better!
I don't know how I found y'all Channel but I'm glad I did I am from Forest Mississippi born and raised but I live in Chicago Illinois I am loving this channel already
Fellow Texan. 88% humidity Monday. Then this morning, cold enough for the heater. This entire week and a half has been a roller coaster. Woke up Sunday morning, it was cool out, so I broke out my coat. By 1:30, it was HOT. Not warm. HOT
Those Northerners are so quick to criticize how us Southerners can’t handle the cold. I invite them to try and not pass out during our 100-110 degree summers with 100% humidity...and by summer I mean May through October! LOL!!
Soooo I'm from Detroit and we get plenty of 100+ degree days with humidity. So it sticks to your body and burns through your soul, unrelenting, until you can't breathe because the air is so thick. The jalapeno peppers growing in your garden patch begin to wilt. The insects rise in power over the government and the people. The animals completely disappear. Steam rises from the lakes. The fish give up the ghost and float in ungodly ways. LOL 😂😂😂
You just have to inform folks moving in what your weather is like overall. I'm in the inland Pacific Northwest (DOE-Hanford area) and our Texas and Cali transplants that came for lower cost of living are freaking out over snowstorm Lucian right now. They don't know our normally mild winters are punctuated with cold blizzards once in a while, i.e., every 8-10 years. Like clockwork, the newcomers panic buy snow boots, ice melt, and snow shovels at those times until they are sold out throughout our 3 city area. They rarely consider sand and kitty litter.
