I tried speedreading for a month and while my speed almost tripled i found that the faster I read the less enjoyment I get. Id say It’s good for work, documents, Articles etc, but when you’re reading for pleasure just take your time and immerse yourself. Let your subconcious choose the speed you want at any given moment in the story. I found that while reading fantasy for example I can take up to 5 minutes on a single page of descriptions, but I can read same ammount in a minute or less when It’s a gripping action sequence. But yeah It’s a cool skill to have, just don’t force yourself to use it when you font want to :)
@@exlipse_ took me a few days. I started at a little over 300 and very looseley applied the techniques and got to almost 500. i hardly practiced it and I hadn't read book in years and I almost never read. It's simple
there is one more: try to read faster than you can comprehend and then slow down lil bit - this will adjust comprehension speed with your reading speed
The most important thing about reading in my opinion is the ability to focus for long periods of time, many people in this day and age lack their ability to focus on one thing at a time and do multi tasking instead, which is just terrible, because you cannot possibly do 3 things at 100% of your ability, instead if you were and could focus for only 1 task and give it your 100% the outcome would be times better
this guy is literally the most motivating and inspiring youtuber i have ever seen it just makes me wanna do all the stuff he does on the spot right now
Mike, thank you so much for your videos. They are super inspirational. I love your editing. With you turning around to look at yourself in the mirror while the "non reflected you" looks straight ahead.
kudos to you mike for achieving the skills which you want to .Love the way you passionately learn new things with a lot of hardwork. You are an inspiration to many who want to learn things but hesitate to do so due to some fears.
Dude, thanks so much for releasing this video! I'm doing a project at school where I spend 20 hours learning a skill and you showed how I could do it so thanks!
@@glidertrio4466 It's very easy once you do the Wim Hof breathing method, one round you can do 1 minute breath hold no problem. Then after 3 rounds you can hold 3 minutes breath in one sitting.
You are literally the most inspirational most epic person ever! I have always been a guy who wants to learn so many things, some of which you actually cover, but it can get discouraging at times... If I need to be inspired I just watch one of your videos and I feel like I can do anything! Keep up the amazing work.

I have a friend, who reads insanely fast. He obviously possesses these techniques of speed reading even without ever learning them. I remember we measured he could read two pages in 25 seconds. He also told me that he does not hear a voice in his head while reading. But what I noticed repeatedly, that even understanding everything very well at such a speed, he always forgets things he read quite fast, and tends to confuse details more than me (and I am VERY inattentive). So everything has its price
same I could probably read 300 wpm with no practice but I'm even faster now and enjoy going through a couple hundred paged books in a day and my parents think I'm crazy. (not a couple books with a hundred pages, a couple hundred paged books lol)
I really liked the video!!! Actually it's more important how we comprehend while reading fastly! For Example: If we read something which has no title or called 'Schema' but just two three sentences which describes something like:- "This is an easy thing to do, if possible you could do it at home but you would always go someplace else if it's necessary beware of doing it this is a major mistake it may costs you quite a bit of money" Actually this doesn't make any sense but if we say the title of this we can understand easily that is LAUNDRY - WHICH DESCRIBES THE PARA ABOVE!
I just realised I have been doing these things subconsciously from my childhood and that is why I can naturally read fast(400 wpm), but over the years i started to slow down as I started to read for pleasure and now I read at a slow speed (280 wpm) and it allows me to enjoy the text so much more
Amazing to find other people wanting this skill, it is absolutely amazing. I am a professional speed reader and aver 680-840 words per minute, depending on of the book is in Latin or English respectively. Great to see the effort going into this ability!
I've been reading books that are way beyond my years for almost my whole life. I read Bram Stoker's Dracula at like age 11 or 12. My point is, I've been able to speed read for a really long time, and it actually is overpowered. It makes reading a lot of fun, and I read books all the time. I highly suggest anyone who doesn't already starts reading often!
@@intelcore5409 Challenge yourself by reading things that are a bit harder with bigger words, and try reading a bit faster. Over time just increase the difficulty at your own pace and you will definitely improve!
@@bh05gauravraut7 he edits things into his mirrors all the time. Like sometimes he makes an illusion where his reflection in the mirror is different from what he is actually doing..
@@thelocalgoose Same , but its my third one. I don't think it matters a lot if it is your native language or not, as long as you put in the hard work to learn it.
What they don’t tell you is meditating helps a ton It’s common since when you think about common purposes of meditation But then you’ll be getting deeper into metaphysics
Awesome Video! I've read some comments regarding "Mike copying ideas" because I made a very similar video recently and I'll just copy my answer to them here: I don't agree. It's a pretty obvious idea anybody will come up with that does these kind of videos. And two (or more) youtubers shedding light on the same topic from different angles is perfectly fine. The fact, that this video came right after mine is 99% pure coincidence and happens to me all the time as well. Much love from Germany, we should do a collab one day! :D Huge respect for hitting 1M!!
I appreciate that brother! To be honest I have a list with 100+ ideas, I don't check other skill learning channels in order to avoid this kind of stuff lol. Anyways I'm glad you liked the video and you learned to speed read too! :)
You will surely be the all rounder in your life or a perfect being to ever exist if you keep on learning skills like this every time... Your video inspires me a lot..❤️
I tried EyeQ it had you reading sentences forwards and backward, and it sort of works and also would have you practice using your peripheral vision and testing it on mazes, and it was amazing the maze solutions I could solve so fast the solutions would like to flare up and be so obvious.
Yeah, me too, the voice is still there but quieter and sounds like the beginning of each word, but as fast as the reading, so maintaining the rithim... it’s just my first day though
I think hes one among the few working like hell in youtube not just for entertainment, while improving his skills. Hence proved anyone can do anything if we have the right determination
You are is my motivation! Bruh. I can already calculate maths in my head. But now i can write two things in one times using both hands! Thanks bruh. Thank god ! God will help you and your family 😀
Grande mike sappi che fare tutti i tuoi video con così tanta inventiva e con un ottimo inglese bisogna essere non solo molto determinati ma anche molto competenti continua così💪💪
